Review the Anchor.Fm Privacy Policy: Anchor - The easiest way to make a podcast

00:00:00
What's going on everybody? Thanks for tuning in to another

00:00:02
episode of the California underground podcast tonight.

00:00:05
We have a show dedicated to our one of our favorite politicians

00:00:11
in California. If not here, in San Diego.

00:00:13
I've talked about him a lot, but we've never dedicated an entire

00:00:17
show all to him, so Nathan, if mr.

00:00:22
Fletcher, if you're out there listening, congratulations.

00:00:24
You've made it. You have an entire show just

00:00:28
about you and tonight, we have We have with us.

00:00:30
Zach who is the head of the fed up with Fletcher pack?

00:00:34
Zach, thank you for coming on. I know you've been monitoring

00:00:37
and keeping an eye on Nathan Fletcher for a while now.

00:00:40
So thank you for coming on. How are you doing tonight?

00:00:43
Good good, yeah. Yeah.

00:00:44
Right. When I thought maybe there would

00:00:46
be some grace period between having to kind of keep the fire

00:00:50
underneath him. Maybe that's not a good one but

00:00:54
or a saying but but yeah well we're here already.

00:01:00
We're talking about the next election because 10 days after

00:01:04
he unofficially one. He opened up his exploratory

00:01:07
committee to look into his 2024 already.

00:01:12
Decided a position without internet means.

00:01:16
He's not going to fulfill his obligation to four years.

00:01:19
So there we are. Yeah, and Camille is always my

00:01:24
co-host. How are you doing tonight?

00:01:27
Good, thank you. So, how are you?

00:01:29
I'm good. I'm ready to talk all about

00:01:32
Nathan Fletcher. There's a lot to cover.

00:01:35
He's an interesting character, he's pretty controversial.

00:01:39
I think his notoriety was definitely Amplified during

00:01:44
covid because he was the chair of the County Board of

00:01:46
Supervisors and it gave him an enormous power to kind of make

00:01:51
calls on covid policy. And whether we are open, whether

00:01:54
we were closed and vaccine mandates.

00:01:56
Which we're going to talk all about that in his history with

00:01:59
that, but I think we should start at the beginning.

00:02:03
I think we should start with, where did Nathan Fletcher come

00:02:06
from. And I think it's important to

00:02:09
kind of look at his background and history to lead up to where

00:02:15
he, where he is today and who he is today.

00:02:18
So Zach, do you want to start off with kind of going over a

00:02:21
little bit of background about Nathan Fletcher?

00:02:25
Slowly so Nathan, if I have to and I'm going to start this off

00:02:30
with a compliment, Nathan is actually very skilled at

00:02:34
managing or attempting to manage His Image and he does this such

00:02:38
a forceful way constantly. That it almost makes whatever

00:02:42
happened not relevant because he's constantly warping His

00:02:46
Image and for good reason. Because if you start looking at

00:02:50
who he was, it's quite, it makes sense.

00:02:55
Why you would want to cover up this track record of his, he was

00:02:59
born. So if people don't know, he was

00:03:02
not born in San Diego. He was born in Nevada and two

00:03:07
years. After being born there, his

00:03:09
family had a big divorce dispute going on in his household and

00:03:14
this is another place that I actually can find empathy.

00:03:17
Because in order to understand his erratic narcissistic

00:03:21
behavior today, kind of got to understand a little bit of his

00:03:24
upbringing. And what environment could have

00:03:27
caused his behavior today. So there was custody battles

00:03:31
with his, his mom and dad is Dad coming to Arkansas and trying to

00:03:36
get custody and Nathan himself described.

00:03:39
His childhood is being a living hell with his father around and

00:03:43
his father being very abusive. So it kind of sets a interesting

00:03:53
foundation for All of his moves and how he goes about his

00:03:59
political. Endeavours if you will.

00:04:06
So you want me to just kind of keep because I have a couple

00:04:09
points that have just kind of frame is his, you know, his

00:04:13
upbringing. Yeah.

00:04:17
Yeah, okay. So after he was in the military,

00:04:19
which I'm sure everybody knows, he was in the Marines.

00:04:22
He likes to end especially around election time.

00:04:24
He loves to remind you that he was served here.

00:04:27
He did this, he did that. That's not to take away from the

00:04:30
military. I know I personally work with

00:04:32
the military. Terry.

00:04:33
So I am very much in respect and understanding of the sacrifice

00:04:37
and what they go through. However, when it's constantly

00:04:40
used in deployed in a way to Garner the veteran Vote or you

00:04:45
know, look at me, I'm a hard, you know, balanced person and he

00:04:49
lets, you know, uses it very politically but when he got out

00:04:53
of the military, he actually was a district.

00:04:57
He was the district director for Duke Cunningham.

00:05:00
Now, I don't know if many people here in San Diego.

00:05:03
Probably maybe not know who Duke Cunningham was or is, but he

00:05:07
resigned from Congress, in 2005, after pleading guilty, to

00:05:11
accepting 2.4 million dollars in bribes, and Under reporting

00:05:16
taxable income. So tax evasion, conspiracy to

00:05:20
commit bribery mail, fraud, wire fraud, and then served eight

00:05:23
years in prison. So, of course, when you, when

00:05:26
asked, when Nathan was asked about this heat, I don't know

00:05:28
what's going on. I'm that's just.

00:05:30
And then there may be truth to it, but when you're In an office

00:05:33
like that it you know, what's going on.

00:05:35
You know, you have to know what's going on.

00:05:38
So so he does this. He kind of lays back for a

00:05:43
little bit by not. I wouldn't say disappearing but

00:05:46
definitely a little bit of a lower profile to re-emerge kind

00:05:51
of again like I say with a different image and this image

00:05:55
was he was going to run for now, Phil help me out here on the

00:06:00
timeline. So it was here and Our mayor of

00:06:04
San Diego County, or San Diego city of San Diego.

00:06:08
First first as a Republican, and I think this was after actually

00:06:13
his State Assembly tenure as a republican.

00:06:19
Yeah. Okay.

00:06:19
So you do is assemblymember as a Republican and then when his

00:06:23
term was up, he then tried running for mayor as Republican,

00:06:27
didn't get the Republican nomination and / Nathan's Savior

00:06:33
threw a temper tantrum and decided it was more.

00:06:38
Beneficial to do a couple things.

00:06:40
One internally with his family and then to change your

00:06:44
political party, right? Because that's the quickest way

00:06:46
to try and pivot. So he changes his political

00:06:49
party to Independent runs this whole, I'm an independent

00:06:53
campaign, I'm different. I'm not this, I'm not sad.

00:06:56
I'm not out of us. Well, that doesn't pan out well

00:07:00
loses, that election as well. So then he gets a job.

00:07:05
So that's 2011. Republican Party. 12 Independent

00:07:09
party. And in that time period, he gets

00:07:11
a job at Qualcomm. I'm sure a lot of people know

00:07:14
what Qualcomm is the founder of Qualcomm is name, is Irwin

00:07:19
Jacobs. He's probably see his name on a

00:07:21
lot of buildings especially over at UCSD.

00:07:25
He's actually Nathan Fletcher's Mentor.

00:07:28
So, the reason that's important is because again, this Saga is

00:07:31
all connected, all the moves are connected by the affiliations

00:07:35
and associations on his whole up.

00:07:38
His is Rise if you will. So Irwin Jacobs actually funded

00:07:45
Nathan's campaigns in the past. He offered him with zero

00:07:52
experience. The jobs in the stuff that he

00:07:55
was going to oversee about a 200 to its disputed, Nathan disputed

00:07:59
it, but it's a two hundred to four hundred thousand dollar

00:08:02
job. Just like that.

00:08:04
Here you go kind of a cushion job, got him set up.

00:08:07
He stayed doing that for this year's maybe six, but it's 2013

00:08:18
and I'm getting somewhere in 2013.

00:08:21
He all of a sudden becomes appointed as the first Professor

00:08:24
of practice at UCSD. So like the man who Irwin Jacobs

00:08:30
has donated 300 million dollars to UCSB over his life.

00:08:35
All of a sudden, Nathan gets a nice.

00:08:37
Another Christian job at UCSD where he can now, teach

00:08:41
political science as a Democrat. So it's so it keeps going right?

00:08:48
So he does this to build this kind of truthfully.

00:08:53
So I went to UCSD and when I was looking at classes to take, I

00:08:57
saw Nathan as a professor. I specifically decided to avoid

00:09:02
taking one of his courses because I knew I wasn't going to

00:09:05
Learn how the system works, rather learn how to be like

00:09:09
Nathan. And I thought you much of that

00:09:12
already at UCSD and I just knew Nathan's, you know, tries to be

00:09:17
tries to sugarcoat it, but I mean, I can see through it.

00:09:20
A lot of people can see through it and I just would not going to

00:09:24
sit in his class although now that I think back it might have

00:09:27
been a good idea to hold him accountable back then, but it

00:09:32
might have been fun to actually just sit in and hear how his

00:09:34
classes went. Missed opportunity.

00:09:38
Yeah absolutely. Now that I think about it it

00:09:40
could have been quite a quite a class.

00:09:43
I'm trying to match on the homework that Professor Nathan

00:09:46
Fletcher, would probably a sign. It probably be like.

00:09:49
So here's this article, I wrote and here's a little about me and

00:09:54
here's what I did in the past now, but come back and write a

00:09:58
two-page essay on me as a marine.

00:10:00
Why I'm a great go. Exactly.

00:10:02
Exactly military. History of if Nathan Fletcher.

00:10:07
Yep. Where did I serve when did I

00:10:08
serve? How did I see all about me?

00:10:12
So and then and then you fast forward a little bit 2018.

00:10:16
He then again, that there's a couple of years of this rebuild

00:10:20
from being a professor boom, he's on the scene again.

00:10:23
Running as a Democrat for the supervisor position which is a

00:10:26
very high level position in the county and to lose two mayoral

00:10:30
runs and then go straight to County.

00:10:33
Leadership was Well interesting, when you know, the connections

00:10:38
of his his who's in his Circle, right?

00:10:44
So ran in 2018, he won the position for district for and

00:10:49
his term was up in 20, or his dad.

00:10:52
His term was up in 2022. 20:22 happens, unfortunately, wins

00:10:58
re-election. And then ten days later, opens

00:11:02
up. Like I said earlier, he opens up

00:11:03
his exploration committee into Toni Atkins term.

00:11:07
Doubt seat in 2024 for state senate.

00:11:13
I mean, I, it makes me speechless because I think the

00:11:16
audacity of somebody to actively be so uncommitted to your

00:11:20
community, but it's this is practiced.

00:11:22
This is believe it or not, he's being coached on these types of

00:11:26
Maneuvers. And this is the window.

00:11:28
This is when you do it, right? And then four months prior, make

00:11:31
sure you hang out with Lorena at the Union's, the state unions.

00:11:35
Keep going to be State functions.

00:11:37
Maybe reshare a State Assembly member.

00:11:39
I mean, it's all. It's all like, it's all

00:11:43
personal. And I think it's very Elementary

00:11:45
Consulting that he's getting but it's it's very predictable and

00:11:49
it you just see that it's constantly trying to strive for

00:11:55
you know his men are so many terms is Overlord.

00:12:02
Gavin Newsom you Shalini. So his whole goal I think is to

00:12:07
be governor and probably president and he's got Lorena

00:12:11
sitting in the in the union side.

00:12:13
Funneling money and bringing in state union actors to funnel

00:12:19
into his campaign and it's already begun.

00:12:21
If you look at some of the transcripts, you can already

00:12:24
see. And, you know, it didn't take

00:12:26
long for me to jot down and where they're coming from, you

00:12:30
know, it they're all industry leaders here in San Diego.

00:12:32
And I mean, CEOs of of partnership, CEOs of real estate

00:12:37
agencies, CEO of the San Diego Opera very Individuals that are

00:12:44
given 10K, 10K, 10K. And just from these six people

00:12:48
that's over, 60 dollars. And I think today up-to-date

00:12:53
he's over a million dollars already raised for this

00:12:57
election. Yeah, that's kind of a sort of

00:13:03
his career in a nutshell. Yeah and I didn't get back drop

00:13:07
and we didn't really touch upon even more of like the personal

00:13:11
stuff which I found pretty interesting.

00:13:14
And Camille also looked into it as well as that he was

00:13:16
previously married. His previous wife, Mindy,

00:13:21
correct, Andy Fletcher. Yes, was a high-ranking.

00:13:26
No relation to Tucker Carlson was a high-ranking George w--

00:13:31
Bush Aid. So you go from, I think this

00:13:37
sort of goes to what you're saying about how calculated some

00:13:41
of his moves are and I don't even You know, I don't want to

00:13:44
say the First with certainty, it's my opinion.

00:13:46
That it appears even based on who he married were calculated

00:13:50
moves to in terms of how he could get political power.

00:13:55
So, he went from my wife was a high-ranking, George W, bush

00:13:59
Aid, that didn't work out, it ran into dead ends with the

00:14:02
Republicans they didn't want to back him for mayor.

00:14:05
He threw a temper tantrum in a hissy fit, became a Democrat.

00:14:08
Oh look, who's a Democrat, who is very powerful and has Her

00:14:13
hands on a lot of levers in Sacramento Lorena Gonzalez.

00:14:17
And she also has a lot of connections to the unions and

00:14:20
unions. Love to donate noodles and

00:14:22
Oodles of money to Democrat politicians.

00:14:24
So it's kind of the the track record like you're saying.

00:14:30
The pattern seems to be. He knows he's calculating every

00:14:35
single move that he does. Like every move leads to

00:14:39
something else. It's not.

00:14:40
I'm just doing this because I want to serve my community.

00:14:43
It's very Very transparent in the fact that you can see,

00:14:46
everything he does is to do something else.

00:14:50
And like you said, and I when I was Pro mowing, this specific

00:14:53
podcast. These are all moves.

00:14:56
He went from County Supervisor. Now he got that.

00:14:59
Now he's doing State Senate his next move after State.

00:15:02
Senate is either going to come back and be mayor of San Diego

00:15:05
or run for governor of California.

00:15:08
So, he's got a path of what he's upward trajectory.

00:15:11
Would you agree with that? Structures and governance can

00:15:21
see, not just his moves, but the moves of others around him,

00:15:25
right? Because it's Nathan, can't take

00:15:26
on a position, without that position, going bacon, or that

00:15:30
position being, you know, endorse to him.

00:15:32
And so deals happen. Behind closed doors, where, you

00:15:36
know, I'll move all run for this show endorse you I'll run there,

00:15:41
you know? And that's how these Actually

00:15:44
happen. It's not a conspiracy.

00:15:45
This is consult. This is why people get paid

00:15:47
250 for a consulting firm and it's basically, this is what

00:15:52
they're telling them. They're telling them coordinated

00:15:54
efforts and at least you you'd want them to seem genuine like,

00:16:00
oh, you know, I've done all this and we can, you know, and try to

00:16:03
try to connect it, but it's not, it's very cut and dry.

00:16:07
It's I'm done with this, like, literally as the election for

00:16:12
was over. And he won four more years.

00:16:16
The first campaign he released was we changed San Diego.

00:16:20
Hashtag, we change San Diego and it was him, excuse my circle,

00:16:26
jerking around. Basically, you know, every photo

00:16:31
he took grandstanding. He did all the half-assed.

00:16:35
Half-baked projects that didn't go anywhere or didn't fully get

00:16:39
you know followed through but damn it.

00:16:41
A good picture. Damn they made a nice video.

00:16:43
No, yeah you got to go on the news and and and rant about it.

00:16:46
But you why do we still have the same problems?

00:16:49
Why are the same Advocates coming back over?

00:16:51
And over saying, nothing's getting done, we need more

00:16:54
assistance. It's because Nathan doesn't

00:16:56
actually care about these things seeing them through because he

00:16:58
wants to just kind of 0, which is mostly the staff doing the

00:17:02
work. If again you want to know how

00:17:04
things actually work. The staff does all the work he

00:17:06
comes in. Oh, I did this.

00:17:08
I did this and I'm doing it for this.

00:17:11
It's like it's Disgusting but it's very evident that it's all

00:17:17
like you said all coordinated calculated and really cold cold,

00:17:21
hearted cold-shouldered dismissive.

00:17:25
You know, I've, you know, Lorena has accused me of being a lot of

00:17:29
things actually, but one of the things, his wife is accused me

00:17:31
of being is obsessed with Nathan, which I'm obsessed with

00:17:37
the idea that he embodies everything, I studied to oppose,

00:17:43
right? He embodies all of the negative

00:17:47
things. I learned to look out for my

00:17:50
political thinkers throughout history, like Machiavelli,

00:17:53
literally explains, who Nathan Fletcher is to the T.

00:17:58
And so when I see that, I can't help but be fascinated and help,

00:18:01
not help, but get such a energy to go after the behavior of that

00:18:07
office, you know? And I it I try to keep it

00:18:09
positional but when someone is so overtly In, you know, kind of

00:18:17
so many terms, I could use but when you insult, the can your

00:18:20
constituents so carelessly. So frivolously you don't you?

00:18:24
No no no empathy for people going through things.

00:18:28
You may not be going to. I mean it's It makes, it, it

00:18:33
makes, He makes himself an easy target for someone like me who

00:18:35
went to school for political science, who went to, you know,

00:18:38
who's in this world in these trenches.

00:18:41
It makes it, he gives us content.

00:18:43
And that's why there's a whole podcast right now designed to

00:18:47
talk about him. There's, there's too much, like,

00:18:52
it's crazy and that's why he's able to continue to confuse and

00:18:56
mislead people because you got there's a lot to keep up.

00:19:01
There's a Of research and polling papers, and reading

00:19:04
documents and looking at finances.

00:19:06
There's a lot that goes into it. It's not just wake up in the

00:19:09
morning, make a meme and shitpost, you know, it's, it's

00:19:13
yeah, people will send me funny memes and I'll post them but

00:19:16
read the descriptions read the, you know, I articulate the

00:19:19
concerns. I explain the connections and

00:19:22
and that's what I think something like.

00:19:24
This is so important especially now that he's going to the

00:19:27
state, a state level position. More eyes are going to be coming

00:19:30
in for the first time. Who's Nathan?

00:19:32
Oh, you look like a nice Charming.

00:19:34
Well-spoken, you know, person and I'm doing a little the hand.

00:19:39
Yeah. The all that good.

00:19:41
See whether yeah, he and Gamma Nu someone to the Obamas, they

00:19:48
both do the finger thing. So it's pretty interesting.

00:19:51
Mannerisms are eerily similar. Yeah.

00:19:54
It's like they all kind of just sat down and took a class on.

00:19:57
I mean, and don't get me wrong, Obama was a great public speaker

00:20:00
and that's probably why everybody Makes them but Nathan

00:20:02
Fletcher is no, President Obama, I think it's important after.

00:20:07
We've now, given the background that if people have no idea who

00:20:12
the heck, we're talking about, I think we should show his State

00:20:16
Senate announcement. We can show couple other videos

00:20:18
if we want, we can show the Nathan Fletcher announcing state

00:20:23
for state senate, which is why we're sitting here doing this

00:20:26
entire show dedicated to him. I don't know how many other

00:20:29
podcast What's that you gave him Justice with the picture you

00:20:35
used for the front for this thing.

00:20:37
Because yeah, I try to find one that wasn't, I don't know, it's

00:20:42
hard. I was trying to find a good one

00:20:44
but I don't know because he looks old way different than the

00:20:48
the one we use for the podcast. It's about today's a lot.

00:20:52
Like in the last few years he's aged.

00:20:55
I think kopecks a little bit of a number of a little credit for

00:20:57
that too. Yeah.

00:20:59
Yeah, maybe all this. I was laughing because I was

00:21:05
like, I get Zach. I have also been accused of

00:21:08
being obsessed with the candidate because I like to go

00:21:11
full on research and so, I was like, I appreciate, I appreciate

00:21:15
this papers. You were waving.

00:21:17
Yeah, so this is this is from his Twitter and that picture,

00:21:23
can I just talk about this picture in?

00:21:25
This is really getting kind of petty that picture of like him

00:21:28
and his winter gear? I don't know.

00:21:31
It just ticks me off, is he trying to look tough?

00:21:34
Is he trying to like I don't know what you're trying to do in

00:21:37
this picture. Sporty?

00:21:39
Yeah. Outdoors right.

00:21:41
Well like you said he does like to be locked, everybody in their

00:21:47
houses. Yeah.

00:21:51
He was a big fan of that and like you said he does like to

00:21:55
bring out the whole thing about Marines whenever it's time and

00:21:58
he can use it to his political benefit.

00:22:01
But I also learned, he was a reservist like he wasn't like a

00:22:05
full-time Marine. He did go on a tour so he did,

00:22:08
it was like 2004. He won't order to tours, so I

00:22:12
won't take that away from him. Obviously going over to war is

00:22:15
not enjoyable, but he was a reservist.

00:22:18
So let's watch his State Senate announcement, which everybody in

00:22:22
the political. No saw coming.

00:22:24
Anyway, so Oh, and a really important lesson, early in my

00:22:29
time, in the Marine we were at our cold weather, survival

00:22:32
school, high in the mountains freezing, temperature constant

00:22:35
snow only cold food and then one day, what appeared to be a large

00:22:39
Ambiance? No trees started making its way

00:22:42
up the mountain tortious word spread quickly, that they were

00:22:45
bringing hot food. Our Spirits support, but there

00:22:49
was only one truck and there was no way.

00:22:51
There would be enough food for everyone there.

00:22:53
The word went out to get in line to eat by Rank and my spirits

00:22:58
Plumbing has the lowest ranking enlisted Marine there.

00:23:00
I knew they'd run out of food before I had a turning line but

00:23:04
to my surprise, I was directed to the front.

00:23:08
You see in the United States, Marine Corps, when you get

00:23:10
online via by ranked the lowest ranking, Marines, he first the

00:23:13
officers he last we take care of those were responsible for the

00:23:18
hardest. Working individuals are

00:23:19
recognized and perform. I'm running for the California

00:23:24
state senate to break that same approach.

00:23:26
That same leadership lesson, the Marine Corps taught me.

00:23:29
The state government to make sure we're looking out for the

00:23:31
hardest working members of our society.

00:23:34
First? I hope you'll join me.

00:23:37
I want to know what who said, it was a good idea to record on an

00:23:42
iPhone in your backyard because it's not like, he'd they don't

00:23:47
have money to in his campaign to record a professional video, but

00:23:52
I guess. One of his Consultants thought.

00:23:54
Hey, might be a good idea if you just record this on your deck

00:23:58
and they'll look, you'll be more relatable.

00:24:01
If you're sitting there and you're gonna watch shirt.

00:24:03
Yeah, exactly. So initial thoughts of everybody

00:24:09
about his message, but do you think do you think he really

00:24:12
abides by that whole thing of like the hardest working members

00:24:14
of society? Is who we serve first?

00:24:18
Do you think that's kind of in line with how he treated rushed

00:24:22
Workers and medical staff during the pandemic.

00:24:26
Do you think that's in line with the hardest working members of

00:24:28
society? Who eat demonized during that

00:24:31
time? No. 90% of that was literally

00:24:39
90% of that was I'm a marine I was freezing, but I was out

00:24:43
there. I and then 10% was like and that

00:24:47
is why I am running for Senate. Like I don't even what's his,

00:24:53
what's his message? I understand.

00:24:54
I'm not in his district but if I were, what does he do for me?

00:24:57
But he going to like, why do I want him to represent me?

00:25:01
Because he once was in the freezing cold, okay?

00:25:04
Because he's a Marine. Yes, he's a Marine and he has

00:25:07
this great story and he wears a denim shirt.

00:25:11
Let's, let's kind of back up a little bit and talk about that

00:25:15
kind of what I just said about how he treated people during the

00:25:18
pandemic. I think, the way he treated

00:25:21
people during the pandemic, now he wasn't chair the whole time

00:25:24
because it was Greg Cox and then it flipped over to him.

00:25:28
And then he became chair of the County Board of Supervisors.

00:25:33
He's sort of ruled with an iron fist during that time and

00:25:36
basically mimicked, whatever Newsome did in terms of trying

00:25:40
to lock people down, shutting down restaurants, one part.

00:25:43
I found was very interesting was Hugh is very much ahead of all

00:25:48
we want to lock everybody down, shut down your businesses.

00:25:50
We can't open, everybody has to stay home.

00:25:54
But then like, there was that one brief period where we try to

00:25:57
reopen in San Diego and somehow he wiggled his way into a

00:26:02
promotional commercial of everyone come back to the

00:26:06
Gaslamp because it's open which I thought was hilarious.

00:26:09
That the guy who forced all these restaurants on Fifth

00:26:13
Avenue to lock down and shut down.

00:26:15
He was now all of a sudden promoting like, hey guys, we did

00:26:18
it. Thanks to me, Nathan, Fletcher,

00:26:21
and come back down to Gaslamp. So Zach, why don't you tell us a

00:26:25
little bit about Nathan Fletcher around the time of pandemic

00:26:30
because I think, That's when everybody starts to figure out

00:26:32
who he was because nobody knew what a County Supervisor was

00:26:35
prior to covid. So yeah, you sleep late, it out

00:26:43
very well because he was kind of, you know, in the Shadows on

00:26:47
the board and it wasn't until covid where he went above and

00:26:51
beyond to take the microphone to be the one to threaten the

00:26:54
beach, goers to tell you what you couldn't couldn't do to send

00:26:59
the sheriff's to threaten business owners and try to, you

00:27:04
know, season this cease and desist.

00:27:07
Orders. So at the time actually, I was

00:27:11
living in Pacific Beach when all of this happened and I was

00:27:18
enjoying going to the beach because I lived on Garnett, it

00:27:21
was right there. I was enjoying getting exercise

00:27:22
and being out and being active. And so I was kind of pissed off

00:27:25
that, you know, these rules which one didn't make any sense

00:27:29
to me, but the way they were being enforced, I had to see it

00:27:32
for myself. So I would go to the beach and

00:27:35
see, you know, you can sit here Here, but 20 feet over there is,

00:27:40
is red tape or yellow tape. And then another 10 20 feet, you

00:27:45
can sit and it just it made zero sense.

00:27:47
You had police chasing people on beaches with their, you know,

00:27:50
their their Cruisers. Take me, a fulfilling the orders

00:27:54
of these help these Health orders.

00:27:57
And he, I think, And again, this gets into like psychology and

00:28:05
sociology because in order for somebody to have the audacity

00:28:09
not just the audacity but to have the authority to declare

00:28:14
what he declared in this country.

00:28:17
It had to be during a tragic event or something that could be

00:28:21
really, really harped on his being at like a doomsday

00:28:25
situation. Forget everything we stand for

00:28:28
or, you know, forget the boundaries we don't ever cross,

00:28:31
it doesn't matter anymore. And This is what you're going to

00:28:33
do and you're going to obey and there's videos and I'm sure.

00:28:37
I mean you can play one but there's videos out there of him

00:28:40
just like looks like he is our father and I don't know about

00:28:45
you but I don't nobody talk to me, especially Vishal like that

00:28:50
because that that sets the relationship and if the

00:28:53
relationship is that I you know I am your your kid.

00:28:57
Then you look at yourself as the parent and I don't like that

00:29:00
relationship between myself and an elected official that I pay

00:29:03
their salary. Yeah, it doesn't.

00:29:05
I don't kids don't pay their child salaries but in this

00:29:08
situation we are even. So he Yeah, I mean I mean

00:29:17
there's a lot it's there's a lot that Nathan gained during the

00:29:21
beginning because there was such, you know confusion it was

00:29:24
one thing after another and then all of a sudden the streets are

00:29:27
quiet. Businesses are, shut down.

00:29:29
And you think people are just going to naturally stay quiet to

00:29:32
that and just kind of, oh, well, you know, there's just my

00:29:35
business, you know, supplying food for my family and keeping a

00:29:40
roof, over my head, whatever know, these parents, these

00:29:44
doctors these Physicians. Actions these police officers

00:29:47
these teachers, the I mean I could go on and on and on and on

00:29:50
all started to show up at the city at these County board

00:29:54
meetings and that's where things started to really heat up for

00:29:59
Fletcher because keep couldn't, he was protected behind that

00:30:03
Podium and the News cameras for like a year and you know, there

00:30:08
was no in person meetings, there was nothing going on.

00:30:10
He could just Lecture us order us to stay in and go to sleep

00:30:16
and or or go to Big Bear for a vacation while we're all locked

00:30:19
in our houses here, which he did it.

00:30:25
He used all that momentum. And I'm kind of my train of

00:30:31
thought. Oh yeah.

00:30:33
So and then everybody starts coming to these meetings and now

00:30:35
he's got nowhere to go. And so what do you do when

00:30:38
you've got nowhere to go? And you have to respond to your

00:30:41
constituents Your neighbors that are there to grieve.

00:30:46
You label them a Nazi. You label them, conspiracy

00:30:49
theorist, you label them crazy, you label them.

00:30:51
Right wing, the label that things are all terms.

00:30:53
He used, you demonize this group of people, no matter how much,

00:30:57
and how many of there are, you demonize them to such a level

00:31:01
that anybody on looking a new Watchers are going to either do

00:31:05
two, things are going to say, oh yeah, it's crazy conspiracy

00:31:07
theorist or Going to listen to them, and they're just going to

00:31:12
believe what Nathan says. So it just dust it.

00:31:15
Dismisses, the real struggle, that people went through, and I

00:31:23
guess, and I'm a sinner. It's not a funny laugh.

00:31:26
It's more being on the side of talking to business owners and

00:31:30
listening to people who were like, don't eat didn't even know

00:31:34
who Nathan was, but are asking like me or other people?

00:31:36
Like, why doesn't this man care about, like our situations?

00:31:41
And, you know, like, and I'll never forget one person said it

00:31:44
in such a sincere, heart broken tone.

00:31:49
And and it just, I think that pissed me off more because

00:31:55
Nathan wasn't being, is not being a good leader.

00:31:57
He's not, he's not taking in the concerns of everybody.

00:32:00
He's got his view rather of your suffering, he's got a view and

00:32:04
he's sticking to it. And, and I got really, I guess

00:32:08
personally invested in going after Nathan.

00:32:11
During covid-19 because and I'm at Liberty, to share, this is

00:32:18
I've gotten permission. My mom actually was took a flu

00:32:24
vaccine and the flu vaccine paralyzed her from the waist

00:32:28
down and gave her GBS, right? Which is a nervous nervous and

00:32:34
everlasting nervous system like disease.

00:32:37
Well, during that time, my mom. Obviously, she's rushed to the

00:32:42
hospital, she's she's in and, you know, intensive care,

00:32:45
they're studying their do all these studies UCSD determines

00:32:49
that it was the flu vaccine that caused this reaction in my mom

00:32:53
system and and paralyzed her. Luckily, and thankfully, she's

00:32:58
gotten back to, you know, she's rehab doorway into Mobility, but

00:33:02
there was several months during all of this chaos, where I

00:33:04
thought I was going to lose my mom because you can die from

00:33:08
these types of failures to your internal system.

00:33:11
And UCSD Publishers and over my wallet is I have the documents.

00:33:17
They gave a published document to my mom stating because of

00:33:22
this reaction to from the flu vaccine.

00:33:25
It's advised, you stay away from the covid-19 vaccine due to

00:33:28
similar components in the vaccines and to hear that to

00:33:34
have it in documentation. And then to look at my County

00:33:38
board supervisor who's actually relying on UCSD Medical experts

00:33:42
to give him direction are saying the complete opposite.

00:33:46
They're saying that stories like that are misinformation or

00:33:50
disinformation or, you know, oh, it's just a, you know, it's just

00:33:53
a, it's so rare. And, you know, my mom being the

00:33:57
person, she was, she was finding people also going through this

00:34:01
situation and connecting me with them.

00:34:03
And then I'm like, wait a minute, there's a bigger story

00:34:05
happening. That's being suppressed here

00:34:07
because one I have a direct connection to not just not it

00:34:11
and it wasn't the covid vaccine, right?

00:34:12
But the reactions to to a vaccine in general I was

00:34:18
firsthand experiencing and then hearing my supervisor say 99% of

00:34:23
fit you know all you do just quoting things, we know aren't

00:34:26
true, we know our debunked, we know is just BS that were given.

00:34:30
Boom boom boom boom. And he just spews it and so

00:34:34
hearing him talk about people like my mom in situations that

00:34:39
she was in as being Not important that lit.

00:34:43
A fire underneath me even more because I wasn't going to let

00:34:46
him continue to speak in the way.

00:34:49
He was speaking about the people, he was speaking about

00:34:51
when I watched what I just watched happen.

00:34:53
And so that I that truly, and then that on top of 15 hours, 15

00:35:03
hours of public comment, that's, that's unheard of at a County

00:35:08
board meeting. If you ever went to, a County

00:35:09
board meeting prior to covid, you'd probably be the only

00:35:12
person in there and I'm not even joking.

00:35:15
I was one of the Nerds that would go to those things, right?

00:35:17
So this this whole packed house packed, house alone was not a

00:35:22
thing. Let alone people out.

00:35:25
The door is wrapping the building and rallying outside

00:35:29
all at the same time, thousands of people coming in to support

00:35:33
and to speak in opposition to declaring covid-19 o

00:35:38
misinformation a Public Health crisis.

00:35:41
And we're going to have these czars decide what's right?

00:35:44
And what's not right and all that rubbish not to see him take

00:35:49
15 hours of grueling heartbreaking intensive public

00:35:57
comment and again knowing how boards work, right?

00:36:01
You can table items, you can amend them, you can revisit

00:36:03
them, you can. You can even depending on the

00:36:06
item you can alter it on the spot.

00:36:10
After that 15-hour meeting, he's like, all right, we're going to

00:36:14
vote. Not just I mean and we know he

00:36:18
gets on social media during the meetings and he's distracted and

00:36:21
not actually present. So, you know, there's that.

00:36:24
But you, you know, ethically and morally.

00:36:28
How do you sleep at night when you have people crying who have

00:36:31
never been to a meeting ever in their life because of the chaos

00:36:35
you're creating on the streets liquor, literally and

00:36:37
figuratively. And See him respond in this just

00:36:43
like I don't give about any of this.

00:36:46
I'm just going to push my agenda, as I've been told to

00:36:50
push and carry on that to me was where That's that next day, I

00:36:56
opened up fed up with Fletcher, that's when that it started.

00:36:59
That was the straw that I was like, enough enough.

00:37:02
I'm to I'm invested without being as impactful as I could

00:37:06
be, and fed up with Fletcher, was a vehicle that I could at

00:37:11
least bring awareness to, and, and kind of Trent, you know, you

00:37:17
see Memes or it's like, they say this and is like translation,

00:37:21
That's how I kind of felt fed up with Fletcher, was with

00:37:23
everything he did, because it was like, this is what he's

00:37:26
saying, but this is actually what he means because this is

00:37:28
actually what he did right there saying stuff and doing things

00:37:32
and, you know, they're on different pages.

00:37:35
So that's kind of at least kind of going into, we're better.

00:37:41
But Fletcher was birthed from. And the reason for this like

00:37:44
enough is enough, like, we're not, we're not done with

00:37:47
Fletcher. We're not, you know, where we

00:37:49
disagree with like, You know, we're fed up because Fletcher,

00:37:52
embodies not just who he is personally, but an attitude and

00:37:56
a behavior from elected officials.

00:37:58
We need to put an absolute stop to because if we don't, it only

00:38:02
gets worse, it only gets more bullying.

00:38:04
It only gets more slanderous. It only gets more more conniving

00:38:08
and we know Nathan is very conniving and very sneaky

00:38:12
because people who were supporting fed up with Fletcher,

00:38:16
actively told me, They worked with Fletcher or around him and

00:38:21
couldn't come public or join me on Fed Up series because they're

00:38:25
afraid of retaliation on their job because that's when Nathan

00:38:28
was, he would call donors. If he saw you donate to an

00:38:31
opposition, he calls employers, if he sees you speaking out

00:38:34
against like, this is the type of stuff he does.

00:38:37
And that to me is, again, he's trying to control the narrative

00:38:42
as much as he can and fed up with Fletcher, was a kind of a

00:38:47
catchy phrase. Way of trying to break challenge

00:38:50
The Branding of Nathan here in San Diego where he had to

00:38:54
Grapple with. You're not a saint Nathan you

00:38:58
know. And I think we're doing that.

00:39:00
I mean we were not successful, the throwing him but I think

00:39:06
we've generated a hub of a One-Stop shop.

00:39:11
Where at any point you can go down and look at what he has

00:39:15
said because we use direct quotes.

00:39:18
You can see What he is talked about, we have direct videos and

00:39:22
my biggest part of doing all, this was to give it a One-Stop

00:39:26
shop because Nathan likes to and move things out of the way.

00:39:30
And so that was the goal of trying to on this not fed up

00:39:36
with the County Board. It's not fed up with government

00:39:38
not fed up with pot, sped up with Fletcher and I think that

00:39:42
again, that's why we're having this podcast is so important

00:39:45
because he's not just a typical Joe Schmo running for office,

00:39:49
and it's like like know why would we spend this much time

00:39:52
and energy on somebody who's trying to improve their help,

00:39:55
the community, democrat or republican?

00:39:57
No, right. There's more to who he is and

00:40:02
not even getting into WikiLeaks. Is that's a whole rabbit hole

00:40:06
that again. People will dismiss as being a

00:40:09
conspiracy but you can look at it yourself and look at the

00:40:14
email exchanges between him and John podesta discussing Lorena

00:40:19
Gonzalez, and how basically, and then there's no other way of

00:40:22
saying he was pimping. Her out and trying to pimp

00:40:25
himself out to the Hillary campaign and upper Democratic

00:40:29
Leadership at a time where he was kind of getting shit on my

00:40:32
local San Diego and community. Yeah, so it's like you gotta

00:40:36
connect all these little things back to what we start.

00:40:39
We, when we started to see why somebody like Nathan deserves

00:40:43
and has earned this type of opposition in this type of

00:40:46
focus. So yeah, yeah, kind of just

00:40:51
ranting now. So I know it's that's why I

00:40:53
like, I kind of took it all the way to how you started fed up

00:40:57
with Fletcher. I didn't even have to ask the

00:40:59
question. You just kind of prompted.

00:41:01
The the answer, here's a couple videos.

00:41:05
You were talking about like, how Fletcher and Loreena both are,

00:41:11
and I've called them this before, they're the biggest

00:41:13
bullies, in San Diego, politics, Loreena, I think more so than

00:41:17
Nathan, I think Lorraine is definitely more of a bully from

00:41:22
what I see, she's just not a pleasant woman, she's blocked me

00:41:25
on Twitter which is I take that. Yeah, I take that I take that

00:41:30
with pride, that Lorena Gonzalez block me.

00:41:32
So I don't I don't see her tweets anymore.

00:41:36
But you're right that they do they speak out of both sides of

00:41:40
their mouth and it wasn't it was just a couple weeks ago that

00:41:44
Nathan Fletcher, gave his acceptance speech for his second

00:41:47
term of County supervisor and his whole speech was about unity

00:41:52
and let's come together and these past couple of years have

00:41:55
been really rough on us. So I hope that we can we can

00:41:58
start to work together and and then all of a sudden he's back

00:42:02
on Twitter like name-calling. When people and calling

00:42:06
opposition or Republicans, he doesn't agree with.

00:42:08
And then you're like. Did you just literally give a

00:42:11
speech about unity and you're out here again being divisive?

00:42:17
There's this video where he's always use Unity.

00:42:22
It's not like Unity is just like just their puzzle word.

00:42:25
I'm here for Unity. I'm not even know what that

00:42:27
means but I'm just going to throw it out there because

00:42:29
someone once said it it's like biting the other night and his

00:42:32
State of the Union talked about Unity.

00:42:35
And we have to work through this together and then immediately

00:42:37
afterwards, he's like bashing some Republicans or something

00:42:40
like that, so you're too. Yeah, let's see.

00:42:45
I'm going to pull up this one because this was one.

00:42:48
He did to D to do. Here we go.

00:42:53
This is one. We had a fancy little press

00:42:55
conference with all the medical experts, so but poor

00:43:06
decision-making driven by politics is impacting our

00:43:10
ability to respond. I desperately fought time and

00:43:14
again to avoid the situation we face today in June.

00:43:21
Call for Unity being sent across San Diego County by local

00:43:24
leaders and medical experts. In the ongoing fight against the

00:43:27
coronavirus, good afternoon, and thank you so much for watching.

00:43:29
I'm Heather Myers and I'm sell Escobedo saw me amid the recent

00:43:32
vision and disagreement there, reminding San diegoans to stay

00:43:36
together to stay safe to stop the spread and prevent more

00:43:39
restrictions snooze. 87 Irani is tracking it.

00:43:42
Horace is a building with what one County Supervisor is saying.

00:43:48
Good afternoon that media conference was up about 30

00:43:51
minutes ago, with supervisor, Nathan Fletcher, and several

00:43:54
leaders within the Health Community and their ideas were

00:43:58
similar to those of Jim Desmond where they've been going back

00:44:02
and forth, Desmond and Fletcher, both saying that they're here

00:44:06
completely to support businesses and to help them along the way.

00:44:09
But with very different approaches Fletcher, supports

00:44:12
the idea of following along with the state's guidelines and

00:44:15
listening to the tiered system, which could potentially We push

00:44:18
us back into a more restrictive tier as of tomorrow.

00:44:21
Whereas Desmond believes that a lot of those businesses should

00:44:24
be going to pause right there just because I must have blocked

00:44:29
out that traumatic memory of the tier system.

00:44:34
I completely forgot about that, we were like constantly going,

00:44:38
are we in the red tear, the orange tear or what what is it?

00:44:44
Mom is it teal like well what are we doing here?

00:44:47
Can I Can I go to a restaurant? Do I have to order doordash like

00:44:51
what's going on here? And I blocked that out.

00:44:55
It's only not that many years ago, but that's what trauma does

00:44:59
you just kind of? Push it out and sweaty State

00:45:03
guidelines are and reopening regardless of those rules.

00:45:06
So take a listen to some of what Nathan Fletcher had to say

00:45:09
today. Contrary to what, some of my

00:45:12
colleagues are telling you. This pandemic was not caused by

00:45:16
the state of California. Contrary to what some of my

00:45:20
colleagues because you're telling you, this pandemic was

00:45:22
not caused by Governor Gavin. Newsom, it isn't the fault of

00:45:27
San Diego State University. And it certainly isn't the fault

00:45:31
of a color-coded metric system. So although some of their ideas

00:45:35
are similar in their support of small businesses, there is a big

00:45:38
difference in how they're going about handling the pandemic,

00:45:42
Fletcher, and Desmond will be a part of a County Board of

00:45:45
Supervisors. Meeting that takes place later

00:45:47
on today, where they're still discussing the Of legal action

00:45:50
against the state. If we move backward into that

00:45:53
more restrictive, tear, that tier one.

00:45:55
They believed that by excluding San Diego State University's

00:45:58
case numbers that we could securely.

00:46:00
Stay firmly in that to your to that we're in right now and not

00:46:03
be a danger of reverting back to Tier 1.

00:46:06
So still no word whether or not a law suit is on the way between

00:46:08
the county and the state that next Board of Supervisors

00:46:11
meeting is today and that small business rally is at 4 p.m.

00:46:15
And then tomorrow we hear from the state on its net sits next.

00:46:19
It's assessment as to whether or not we remain into your to or

00:46:22
move backward into tier one that lady getting her hair done.

00:46:28
Outside of outside is like man guy working out in a mask.

00:46:34
Just I remember working out in a mask and I was like we were just

00:46:38
happy to be back in the gym because Jim's were like I was

00:46:41
working out outside in a parking lot.

00:46:43
At a crunch fishing and it was like winter time.

00:46:46
And like we were bundled, we had like three layers and I It's

00:46:50
horrible but you know trying to be healthy during a pandemic was

00:46:54
not allowed under the tier system and Nathan Fletcher, so

00:47:00
don't try to eat healthy. Yeah, you kind of hear In that

00:47:05
clip. You showed that was his tone and

00:47:08
an attitude. Every time he took the podium

00:47:10
during 98 was yelling at the public.

00:47:13
It was, it was like, it's not our fault.

00:47:16
Get back in your house. We didn't do this.

00:47:19
This. The beach like it's like what

00:47:24
you're saying. Sorry, don't go on.

00:47:27
I just say it's it's what? Yeah.

00:47:30
Never mind. It was.

00:47:32
Go ahead. Do I just want to know what's

00:47:34
with all the people standing behind him?

00:47:36
Who just like, they literally look like, they were just like

00:47:39
plants. Like, like I'm like, sitting

00:47:41
there going. How long did it take them to set

00:47:43
up the scene? You know, we just feel so fake

00:47:45
and calculated to me, okay. You to do a little bit closer,

00:47:48
right spot like that. Okay, wait note like, that's how

00:47:51
it feels to me with the nurses and like the professionals, like

00:47:53
it just seems such a setup if you'd like.

00:47:55
The top ridiculous. Well they were properly socially

00:47:58
distanced plants. If you notice they were all at,

00:48:02
all of them six feet apart. We I think it's actually the

00:48:05
other day. I was like, I was like, where do

00:48:08
they find these people like in the middle of the day?

00:48:10
Like what do they call up random people in the like hey you want

00:48:13
to be the backdrop of a political speech.

00:48:16
Sure come stomping versus yeah. Like these nurses are more than

00:48:23
so but yeah, you can. Until it, you were saying about

00:48:27
his his whole thing about like unity and like we have to work

00:48:30
together and but at the same time, he's he's like lecturing

00:48:35
people and you, I think you said it best, it was like a parent,

00:48:38
lecturing kids like, no, no you can't go out, it's past your

00:48:41
curfew and like, no, no, you haven't done your homework and

00:48:45
you haven't eaten your vegetables.

00:48:46
And we're in the wrong tier, we're in purple tear or whatever

00:48:50
and we can't do that. That's that was his tone all of

00:48:55
Covid-19 and most Democrats to it was mostly they would hide

00:49:01
behind this. Moral argument of moral

00:49:05
superiority of well we're trying to save lives Not discounting or

00:49:12
talking to your grandma Killers. But let's not talk about the

00:49:20
effect of losing your business, economic hardship, suicide

00:49:25
rates, child abuse domestic of it.

00:49:28
Let's not talk about any of that, sort of extremes, a, or

00:49:33
consequential damage, or collateral damage of your

00:49:36
policy. So let's not talk about any of

00:49:37
that stuff. You're just trying to Kill

00:49:39
Grandma. So that was their tone kill

00:49:41
Nathan, Fletcher. He understood the assignment.

00:49:45
When it came down, from Gavin Newsom, and all the Democrats,

00:49:48
he understood, the assignment. Like, this is how I'm going to

00:49:51
talk, and I'm going to lecture and yell at all the people who

00:49:53
are big bad mean he's so can we do an entire episode on covid-19

00:49:59
PTSD because oh my God, that video just triggered me, the

00:50:04
watching, all my stuff. Amazing to me.

00:50:10
Oh my gosh. How much I actually blocked out.

00:50:14
Like seriously, look at lady Gainer haircut outside.

00:50:18
I'm like, what is this lady to, oh my gosh, they had to get

00:50:22
their haircuts outside. Like, you couldn't wait to get

00:50:25
back yard, haircuts. Like my bar rule, like she was

00:50:27
doing backyard haircuts. I mean, but it was pretty cool.

00:50:32
The only cool thing was like a whole Speakeasy culture that

00:50:35
arose in San Diego of like businesses that were In against

00:50:39
it. And like they would just be

00:50:41
like, all word of mouth open, like this restaurants, open

00:50:45
inside. And like there was a really good

00:50:47
sushi restaurant. It's not there anymore, but

00:50:51
they, they had constructed this whole facade in the front.

00:50:58
They had an Asian market and they put up a wall.

00:51:01
And so it looked like you drove by it.

00:51:02
Just looked like a tiny little Asian mini-market, but behind

00:51:06
the wall was a entire sushi restaurant that Nobody could see

00:51:09
driving by. It was.

00:51:12
Excellent Sushi. Did you have to have a password

00:51:16
to get in? Not really one of the owners was

00:51:22
is a fan of the podcast. So she kind of reached out was

00:51:24
like, you should come down and have sushi.

00:51:26
And I was like great. And then everybody, we told was

00:51:28
like, you know, a place where you can eat inside.

00:51:31
And it was like, yeah, let's go. And they were like, but it's

00:51:35
don't tell anybody about it. It's a secret.

00:51:38
So But yeah, my gosh. So obviously there was a lot of

00:51:45
reasons why people wanted to go back to business or not or go

00:51:50
back to doing what they're doing.

00:51:53
Yes I did need a haircut during covid during the shame on you +.

00:51:59
Yeah I mean my I'm sorry I wanted a haircut.

00:52:02
I was not happy with my hair. At the time, I had to literally

00:52:09
smuggle my hairdressers into my places to get haircuts, like, 80

00:52:16
felt like I was doing something so illegal.

00:52:20
Your parents act like, I know, I act like it, just, it just

00:52:28
forget those moments where it's, like, you should.

00:52:31
We we were doing, why? Looks like I got hit in the face

00:52:35
with this Amnesia as well and just kind of like, oh, this is

00:52:39
the way. Because, yeah, they weren't at

00:52:41
this, that the shops they couldn't be.

00:52:43
So it's like, we had to learn how to to survive or stay

00:52:49
productive. I know in a way that felt gross,

00:52:54
which is shouldn't have because it's like, as funny.

00:52:57
Everyone was saying, all this is, this is just the new normal

00:53:00
and I was, I refused to sing a new normal because I was like,

00:53:03
none out this is A temporary blip in history.

00:53:07
This is New. Normal means, this is how it's

00:53:09
going to be forever. Although it sometimes it felt

00:53:12
like that's how it was going to be forever because it just never

00:53:15
ended here in California. But yeah.

00:53:17
The new normal two more towards him going three weeks fake

00:53:23
reopening. Yeah, can I bring it back with

00:53:28
Lester? There was a time where I was

00:53:30
like it was early on in the pandemic.

00:53:32
I know we're getting off topic about like, the pan Making stuff

00:53:35
like that. But just all of this kind of

00:53:36
rolls into like Nathan Fletcher. Yeah, being in control, I was in

00:53:41
a chat room with other lawyers and we were chatting about

00:53:44
something. I was like, I was like, man, I

00:53:47
really wish I could go back to just eating inside, like I miss

00:53:51
going to restaurants and this one other attorney.

00:53:55
So brainwashed just goes. He just went off on me about

00:53:59
like, you would want to go back because you're a right winger.

00:54:03
And you're a A racist and you want to kill minorities and that

00:54:07
I you don't care. It's your white privilege.

00:54:09
I'm like I don't know how you got all that from.

00:54:11
I just want to sit inside a restaurant when I eat and not

00:54:14
outside on the street where it's cold, but that's how brainwashed

00:54:19
people were. And people were listening to

00:54:21
politicians like Nathan Fletcher because they were spewing a lot

00:54:24
of divisive talk during that time while.

00:54:28
Also, at the same time, saying we should all unify and come

00:54:30
together. I do have the video cued up that

00:54:34
got Him in a lot of hot water, where he started to call out.

00:54:37
Basically, every Republican and Trump supporter every name in

00:54:40
the book, should I q-- that one up?

00:54:44
Sure. Alright this is this is a good

00:54:47
one. I'd say.

00:54:51
Do to do to do to relive but educational.

00:54:56
Yeah, you are. Thank you.

00:55:05
Mayor Garcia. It's my privilege to join.

00:55:08
Assemblymember chiu mayor, Gloria civil rights leaders, and

00:55:12
the chair of our Democratic party and joining, can't

00:55:14
California Democrats. It really is unfortunate that in

00:55:19
this day and age. We have to come together.

00:55:21
Either to denounce acts of terrorism against our own

00:55:23
country acts of terrorism, against the will of the American

00:55:28
people who turned out in record numbers to have their voice

00:55:31
heard and have their votes counted at the de combat veteran

00:55:35
of the United States Marine Corps.

00:55:36
I trained to respond to situations like an embassy,

00:55:40
being overrun by enemies of America.

00:55:43
But I never imagined, I would see the day where the Saints

00:55:47
situation would play out with the US Capitol being overrun.

00:55:51
Fight enemies of America. This was a direct attack on our

00:55:55
democracy on free and fair elections in the peaceful

00:55:59
transition of power. In 2016.

00:56:01
I did not like the outcome of the election results and I

00:56:04
accepted them and it motivated me to work harder in 2020.

00:56:09
What we are seeing happen across, our country is inspired

00:56:13
and motivated directly by Donald Trump.

00:56:16
Trump and trumpism pose, an existential threat to our peace.

00:56:21
V democracy. And so I'm joining fellow

00:56:23
Democrats today as we take a stand against right-wing.

00:56:26
Militia groups, against the proud boys, white nationalist.

00:56:29
And everyone who is encouraging violence on our democracy but

00:56:34
these same extremist be same. Trump inspired conspiracy.

00:56:39
Theorists are now seeking to undermine our democracy in

00:56:43
California. They are involved in recall

00:56:46
elections against our governor. Gavin Newsom, the recall efforts

00:56:50
led by proton. Stream of seek to undermine

00:56:53
Democratic process across our state.

00:56:56
There is substantial evidence that those who are leading this

00:56:59
recall effort, our LinkedIn associate with Neo-Nazi with

00:57:02
white supremacist with right-wing militia groups and

00:57:05
cannot stand for this proposal right there because it's just

00:57:12
talk about guy who couldn't be more divisive right there.

00:57:17
Basically, if you don't agree with me, if you voted for Trump

00:57:20
and got it, God, Forbid, you don't like our Lord and savior

00:57:25
his most, holy highness. Gavin Newsom how dare you

00:57:31
question his authority? And start a recall and the fact

00:57:35
that he just loved basically everybody who supported the

00:57:38
recall as neo-nazis white supremacist, right-wingers

00:57:42
right-wing militia and all that stuff.

00:57:45
It was some of the most like, disgusting stuff I ever heard

00:57:49
him say and when I heard him say that, I was like I wasn't

00:57:51
surprised, but also, I was like, you know, this is just the type

00:57:56
of person Nathan Fletcher is, is that he'll, he will drag your

00:58:00
name through the mud and call you every name in the book, if

00:58:05
he doesn't, if you're a political opponent, just like

00:58:08
his wife Lorena Gonzalez. So I don't know how he pretends,

00:58:11
he stands for Unity. Also, if we were playing a

00:58:13
drinking game, we'd probably be a little tipsy by.

00:58:16
Now, if he mentioned every time he was a marine and if we took a

00:58:20
shot every time he mentioned, He was emergency.

00:58:22
So I saw Zack take a sip after the last one.

00:58:24
And I was like, Zach. Also Mama, Zach was already.

00:58:28
He's like, I'm playing my own game.

00:58:31
That made me think we really need to say these things sooner.

00:58:34
We really need to start the podcast with and tonight's

00:58:37
buzzword is, yeah, someone in the chat goes Halal democracy.

00:58:44
Somebody else's was this before. One of his newly District cities

00:58:47
was burned down by his non-violence, Yeah, I mean

00:58:52
excellent point that he likes to kind of gloss over the fact that

00:58:56
there was the 2020 Summer of Love which was supported by

00:58:59
democrats. But any comments before we kind

00:59:04
of continue, we all know what this video.

00:59:06
Yes, I wanted to say. I think again, everything is

00:59:10
calculated and specific. He's read at.

00:59:13
Look at his eyes, use reading off of very thought-out

00:59:19
scripted. Agenda.

00:59:22
And he says it caught my mind. He says our governor that would

00:59:27
oppose our governor, the governor, or a governor.

00:59:32
Like that language, right there, that does something to people

00:59:35
when listening. It's, you know, it's us for its

00:59:38
then it's the basic, you know, divide-and-conquer rhetoric.

00:59:41
But it's just the way he pivots and makes it's not just

00:59:46
disagreements. It's you're An Enemy of the

00:59:49
State. Bye. like you're, you're you're

00:59:54
Trying to undermine. When funny enough it's him who's

01:00:00
actually undermining the process by funneling money and you know

01:00:05
yeah so on and so forth. So I just thought is very worth

01:00:08
pointing out, it's you know, our governor like oh our beloved

01:00:12
Governor versus the governor and and another one last thing.

01:00:18
When I was going door to door talking to people, for the

01:00:21
primaries to go against Nathan, I can.

01:00:25
It's worth noting because of how many people I spoke to that were

01:00:29
Hispanic citizens here and said, when he called me a Nazi for

01:00:34
voting against Gavin, I said in, it was that was the thing that

01:00:38
pissed off people who were not white, that had a problem with

01:00:42
Gavin, which new / there was a lot of them.

01:00:45
And so that, it's just, It's either tone deaf or he knows how

01:00:50
he's being, you know, insightful hmm Camille, any thoughts before

01:00:56
we continue on? Yes, please back to being

01:01:03
triggered. I'm not really triggered.

01:01:04
But this whole you know, people who didn't want the vaccine

01:01:07
better conspiracy theorist. So I have been a parent for over

01:01:11
17 years and fill as you know, I love to research and all that.

01:01:16
Like The second I found out I was pregnant.

01:01:18
I was basically like, okay but you know what it how am I going

01:01:22
to like, what's good for kids, what's not?

01:01:25
And I like facts, I am not a conspiracy theorist.

01:01:28
I don't tend to get emotional over issues.

01:01:31
I just like, give me the facts and then I'll respond.

01:01:33
And so I did my own research and chose to delay and not get

01:01:38
certain vaccines for my kids because I felt like I was making

01:01:43
the right decision for them based on what I read.

01:01:46
Almost 18 years ago when I found out, I was pregnant, you know?

01:01:49
And so the of course that was pre way before Trump pray before

01:01:54
covid. So, I just like researched and

01:01:57
facts that does not make me a conspiracy theorist.

01:01:59
If I choose to not vaccinate certain vaccines, or any or

01:02:03
myself or my kids, that just makes me someone who's making

01:02:06
decisions that are best for myself.

01:02:08
So, I get very annoyed when, you know, you guys are just

01:02:11
conspiracy like know. I've always been like that, I

01:02:13
vote just that's just You know, again pre Trump regarding Nathan

01:02:18
Fletcher real quick because there are people who obviously

01:02:20
agree with the lockdown because he got re-elected.

01:02:23
There are insane people who believe with this, you know,

01:02:26
tyrannical leadership. But on that note he cannot be

01:02:30
trusted. He is a liar.

01:02:32
He needs a flip-flopper. So I just want to touch on that

01:02:35
for a second because even in May of 2014 after he had her 2013

01:02:39
after he had switched from Republican to independent and

01:02:42
then to Democrat, he put out this whole nicely.

01:02:45
Worded email. And then he shared it on his

01:02:46
Facebook post. May of 2013 where he's like, I

01:02:49
have no plans to run for office. I don't know that I ever will.

01:02:53
I just want to let you all know that.

01:02:54
I'm now registered Democrat less than four months later.

01:02:57
He was running for mayor of San Diego so he already knew he I

01:03:00
mean he had to have known he wanted like he jumped on that

01:03:03
right away. So already this man cannot be

01:03:05
trusted, okay? And he has switched parties so

01:03:07
many times. So how can you even know what

01:03:10
he's going to do? If he would he does because he's

01:03:13
ultimately going to win the Senate position.

01:03:15
So we know that's not applicable.

01:03:16
See, he's got it. So when he wins this, who knows

01:03:19
what he's going to do? Who knows what he's going to

01:03:21
say? Hey, you guys, you can't trust

01:03:22
him. You cannot trust his leadership

01:03:23
because we don't even know who he is, because he doesn't even

01:03:25
know who he is. So there's we're talking about a

01:03:28
grown adult who's just like being whipped around by women in

01:03:32
his life, who are more important than he is.

01:03:34
And, you know, that's where he gets worried is.

01:03:37
So he's not even like a man. He's just kind of a little boy,

01:03:40
trying to figure out who he is doing all these things.

01:03:43
And I think I had one other point and now I'm kind of

01:03:45
forgetting it. But anyway, you can carry on

01:03:47
video. I almost don't want to continue

01:03:51
on with the video. I think that was a good

01:03:52
summation of Nathan Fletcher, in general.

01:03:56
But yeah, one of the video because it's full of, you know,

01:04:00
Nathan Fletcher, golden bits. Could I remembered my point?

01:04:05
I'm sorry. Okay.

01:04:06
Okay. Say it really fast.

01:04:07
So basically touching all exact said about, you know,

01:04:11
politicians are not our parents and when they start to act like

01:04:13
they are your parent into that, you're the child.

01:04:15
And that, that's the established relationship.

01:04:17
I just want to touch on that that we have to remember.

01:04:19
Number to anyone listening politicians?

01:04:22
They are like, did they are who they are?

01:04:25
Because of us, they are nobody without us to not put up with

01:04:30
this. They are nobody without us and

01:04:32
we can make them nobody's really fast.

01:04:35
If we stand up to them, they are not our parents.

01:04:37
They do not own us. They do not control us.

01:04:39
They do not run our lives. Yeah, it's the one thing the

01:04:45
Kryptonite of all politicians is the fear of losing power.

01:04:50
It will make any politician flip their positions, change their

01:04:54
whole, political philosophy on the podcast pre-show.

01:04:59
I was talking about how London Bri the mayor of San Francisco

01:05:02
moved from far left all the way to the middle, because people in

01:05:07
San Francisco were fed up with the far left stuff, which is

01:05:10
crazy to think that people in San, Francisco are getting fed

01:05:12
up with the far left stuff. But yeah, nothing scares

01:05:17
politicians more than than losing power.

01:05:20
Power and so that's the one Kryptonite we.

01:05:23
As voters. Always have is, at least for

01:05:27
now. We still have the power of the

01:05:28
recall. We still have the power of

01:05:30
referendum and we saw the pilot of the, the power of The Ballot

01:05:34
Box. So that's why you got to put the

01:05:38
fear of God into him, that we can come out and we can change

01:05:42
it and vote them out and because if you take their power away,

01:05:46
you've ended their career, it's all about like Nathan Fletcher's

01:05:49
of Example of if we don't stop them at some point, he's gonna

01:05:55
keep going and he's going to keep going up the ladder more

01:05:57
and more and more to the point where he's like Untouchable,

01:06:00
where he becomes the next Gavin Newsom.

01:06:02
And he's like, he's got a 26 million dollar War chest and

01:06:06
he's running for governor. And there's nothing you can do

01:06:07
to stop them at that point and nobody who runs against them.

01:06:10
The ghost of Ronald Reagan could come back and he'd still beat

01:06:12
him. So let's finish up this video.

01:06:16
See what other unifying words? Mr. Fletcher has as for us, And

01:06:24
show them that we will outwork and out organized and we intend

01:06:28
to preserve our democracy and improve.

01:06:31
Preserve our democratically elected governor.

01:06:34
In this state, adding fuel to the fire as a former mayor of my

01:06:39
city and the city of San Diego. A mayor who is trying to exploit

01:06:44
a environment of extremism to undermine and undercut.

01:06:48
The leadership of our governor, and I would be Kevin Faulkner.

01:06:52
Our governor has led during one of the most difficult times in

01:06:56
the history of our country responding to the covid-19.

01:06:59
Pandemic with science-based data, driven approaches, one of

01:07:03
the most difficult situations that has ever been encountered

01:07:06
by any governor in anytime, but he's also battle wildfires and

01:07:10
natural disasters and a series of social unrest, and he has

01:07:13
done it all with consistency with purpose and a commitment to

01:07:17
serving the people of California.

01:07:18
If you contrast, that with Kevin Faulkner, who half, Fast his way

01:07:22
through his term in office, setting, low expectations,

01:07:25
cutting them in half and then delaying it for his successor.

01:07:29
You have a clear contrast and Leadership he left now, mayor

01:07:34
Todd Gloria. A structural budget deficit, a

01:07:37
homeless crisis, billions of dollars in unfunded clean water,

01:07:41
obligations a pension disaster of his own, making a series of

01:07:45
failed, real estate, boondoggles and years of backlogs of

01:07:49
problems and an inability to Difficult decisions.

01:07:53
And that is a stark contrast to what we see in Governor news and

01:07:57
leading our state and California.

01:07:58
Democrats stand with Governor, Newsom against this recall and

01:08:02
against the Trump efforts. It should also be noted that

01:08:05
mayor Faulkner joined President, Donald Trump on the day.

01:08:08
He announced for re-election in the Oval Office.

01:08:12
Trump went on Sean Hannity, that night to brag about how much

01:08:15
mayor Faulkner, supported building a wall along, our

01:08:18
Southern border and just recently, mayor Faulkner made

01:08:21
clear that he Did in fact cast his vote for Donald Trump?

01:08:24
That is not the approach that we need in the state of California.

01:08:27
And today, I'm joining the Democratic party, my fellow

01:08:30
Democrats in, taking a strong stand against extremism against

01:08:34
what we are seeing and on behalf of the Democracy in our country.

01:08:38
And it's my pleasure to join here today.

01:08:39
I almost kind of have a laughable image of my mind of

01:08:44
like after that was over. He's like a little puppy dog.

01:08:48
And he's like did I do good guys.

01:08:49
Did I get a treat now? Yeah, you know, like is go good

01:08:54
boy. That's a good boy.

01:08:56
Looks like your boy naked, Twitter.

01:09:01
Checking his text messages. The Gaijin, see that?

01:09:04
Oh my gosh. Did I do a good job?

01:09:07
Oh my God. I'm gonna talk about fanboying

01:09:11
for anybody, anybody, fanboying, and anybody when Gavin's in the

01:09:16
city for 56 minutes, and Nathan is waiting for him, at the

01:09:19
freaking tarmac like Like the guide obsesses over Gabon.

01:09:26
So it's just again the doublespeak it's like anybody

01:09:29
paying attention to you? How do you like girls freaking

01:09:34
liar? But there's like yeah, it's just

01:09:37
it's crazy, it's laughable. And I forgotten like you know

01:09:44
the funny thing is like if you know Kevin Faulkner he is the

01:09:48
farthest thing. He is definitely a moderate

01:09:51
Republican to the point where a lot of people call them a rhino.

01:09:55
Yeah, but I mean he is the farthest thing from like an Uber

01:09:59
Maga right-wing. Yeah.

01:10:01
Looking like he's absolutely fact that Trump so I guess

01:10:06
that's it, this whole thing. I guess that tarnishes whole

01:10:10
like how It's all they had back then was well, you were

01:10:13
associated with Trump, so therefore, we're going to

01:10:16
tarnish you and call you racist Neo-Nazi.

01:10:18
And I think they, they, there's a reason why Nathan Fletcher

01:10:25
went after Kevin Faulkner, so hard on.

01:10:27
This was specifically, because they knew in the polling, Kevin

01:10:31
Faulkner was likely, the biggest threat to Gavin.

01:10:34
Newsom, it's my belief that this is just my belief.

01:10:39
You can people can disagree with Me or not if it hadn't been for

01:10:42
Larry Elder entering the race. I think the recall would have

01:10:44
been a lot closer and I think someone like Kevin Faulkner

01:10:47
probably would have made a very strong, run to replace Gavin

01:10:51
Newsom and I think that's what they knew was going to happen

01:10:54
because no one was really Democrats weren't really into

01:10:56
the recall at that point. So they all new.

01:10:59
Let's go after Falkner and try and turn them into a trump

01:11:02
Republican, it didn't work. Until they got Larry Elder and

01:11:06
then they go oh here's our Trump Republican.

01:11:09
Now we can go after them and defeat.

01:11:10
The recall forget Faulkner beat him at that Mayoral race with

01:11:15
that that special race. When Bob filner had his 2013,

01:11:20
Faulkner won that race. Ultimately February 2014.

01:11:24
So he still licking his wounds Nathan is yeah that so any any

01:11:28
chance that he can just stick it to Faulkner.

01:11:31
Yeah same thing with Carl demaio he has a thing against Even Fox.

01:11:35
Yeah, everyone who's lost to Kevin?

01:11:37
Faulkner has like this axe to grind with him, which is kind of

01:11:40
funny, but that's I think that encapsulate sore, that's a good

01:11:45
way to cap off who Nathan Fletcher is.

01:11:47
I think that video is a perfect way to kind of sum up the bully

01:11:52
that Nathan Fletcher is. At the end of the day, he will

01:11:57
call you every name in the book. If you're a political enemy, he

01:12:00
does not care about Unity. He uses the buzz words of our

01:12:04
democracy secrecy and all this BS to try and say all the right

01:12:09
things and Zack you nailed it on the head.

01:12:12
He literally was just going down his speech.

01:12:16
That was probably written to him.

01:12:19
So, yeah. And doing his little finger

01:12:20
thing that it's some speechwriters, okay, you're

01:12:23
going to hit this buzzword, you're going to hit this.

01:12:25
Buzzword, you're going to say neo-nazis are going to see white

01:12:28
supremacist. You're going to say we have to

01:12:29
defend our democracy and it's like he is the product of Of

01:12:36
political, consultants, and focus groups in a room like

01:12:39
saying, okay, this is how you become the perfect Democratic

01:12:42
politician in California. You just say these things and

01:12:44
you'll keep going. So, I mean, he, I don't think he

01:12:48
has any backbone or spine to be his own man.

01:12:52
And Camille said that as well. Like, he just kind of bounces

01:12:54
from person to person, whoever can help them, move up the

01:12:57
ladder. Whatever you want me to say,

01:13:00
I'll pick myself out, I don't care.

01:13:02
I just want to get more power. Thoughts.

01:13:10
Yeah, actually I forgot to mention and 28 2008 when he was

01:13:14
an assemblyman there was he said passed something called he also

01:13:17
didn't build Chelsea's law and I'm sorry.

01:13:20
I don't have all the facts on that but I know it had something

01:13:22
to do with the woman. Does anyone know she had

01:13:25
disappeared? I don't remember.

01:13:29
She was murdered or not. I believe that was the case.

01:13:31
But he used her parents as like the poster child for his for

01:13:34
his, you know, I did this and I was actually reading an article

01:13:38
about it and From that time. And so many of the comments were

01:13:42
that, they felt like people felt like it was.

01:13:45
It's really cold and cruel to the parents and how he he just

01:13:49
hopped on. You know, again these

01:13:51
politicians never let a tragedy go to waste, but he immediately

01:13:54
harped on that he wasn't close to situation at all.

01:13:56
And he was just like, I'm going to get these morning parents, as

01:13:59
you know, the poster child for my video and show I did this and

01:14:04
like people just felt like it wasn't even authentic, it was

01:14:06
just trying to get, you know. Points out there.

01:14:11
And so, I just want to say that again, that speaks to who he is

01:14:14
as a person, and his leadership and how he will be as a senator.

01:14:22
Absolutely. Hey, he even on his current

01:14:26
state senate website, you references Chelsea's law and how

01:14:30
you know I'm I'm the, I'm the reason that that exists and

01:14:36
yeah, and it's like Just the same.

01:14:39
I didn't you crazy as a Marine. It does.

01:14:43
Yes of course. Okay and it just I think it's

01:14:47
telling when you have to go so deep into the the bag of what

01:14:52
I've done. But over 10 years ago to say I

01:14:57
know this is what I'm doing or I've done and it's like well

01:15:01
you've also been in office for how many years and you know

01:15:03
everything is we're going to start this.

01:15:05
We're going to start this like dude at some point you got to

01:15:08
start because it's like the problem is getting worse and

01:15:11
you're getting more powerful. Also, what gives yeah, how about

01:15:16
let's talk about how you divorced your wife and then

01:15:17
tried to get out of spousal and child support and how you ruined

01:15:21
businesses and didn't want people going to the beach and

01:15:24
let's talk about that. She mentioned that on your

01:15:27
website Fletcher. Of course not.

01:15:31
Yeah, well I think we've I think if Nathan Fletcher, only knew we

01:15:37
talked about him for a full hour and 20 minutes, we probably

01:15:40
could keep talking Fletcher. I don't know in his weird world,

01:15:44
he might see, he might be flattered.

01:15:48
We spent so much time talking about him but oh no, he is that

01:15:54
we're taking up so much time to talk about.

01:15:57
I just got that. He actually tried to buy the one

01:16:01
of the community members made a shirt that shows Nathan and it's

01:16:04
like Tyrant. Have you seen that shirt?

01:16:07
It's kind of like the Obama hope like heck but it says Tyrant

01:16:12
Fletcher interest. Nathan actually reached out to

01:16:16
that person to buy a shirt. And while the story behind him

01:16:21
creating that shirt was to keep funding his household during the

01:16:25
pandemic because his business was shut down.

01:16:28
So he used that to try and like get money to keep things moving

01:16:34
and Nathan, you know, in his cozy little, you know, Place

01:16:38
thinks it's funny and he's like, hey, and I'd like to buy one and

01:16:42
it's like, dude, you insensitive POS, like, you don't even know

01:16:47
why you're on a shirt. You just.

01:16:49
And people used to hate you, like, you make it easy, but, but

01:16:54
you best believe, there are specific reasons why people get

01:16:57
as passionate as they do, and he just continues to be

01:17:02
unaccountable to all of his his sins.

01:17:05
If you will. And, you know, it to be honest,

01:17:09
I don't think it's actually hit me that he's running for state

01:17:12
senate as much as I'm aware of it as much as I can write about

01:17:15
it, unless I can think about it. It hasn't really hit me. because

01:17:20
I look at someone like that, like I said earlier and it's Why

01:17:24
do you, why? I mean I would Democrats trust

01:17:28
somebody like that. I mean just as a person as a

01:17:30
human to human forget your labels, a democratic.

01:17:33
How do you actually trust somebody that has given you?

01:17:36
Every reason to not trust them personally politically

01:17:40
economically, like he's given us every reason to be like oh this

01:17:45
is a politician, you don't vote for and so it just I still don't

01:17:49
have that answer. I think a lot of it has to do

01:17:52
with union dues and people being, you know, I know how

01:17:56
unions work I. When I was a student trustee, at

01:17:58
Grossmont College, the Union's held the board hostage and used.

01:18:01
Well, we're not going to teach students next tomorrow.

01:18:03
If you don't, you know, do XYZ. So I know how like they do not

01:18:08
care as long as they get, you know, whatever it is they want.

01:18:11
And so I think the reason to kind of answer something you

01:18:14
said earlier is like, oh it's in the bag.

01:18:16
It's, you know, it's in the back.

01:18:17
Well, that's because cuz he's cultivated relationships with

01:18:21
these people for so long that they have such influence over

01:18:26
all these other people and when those people are incentivized to

01:18:29
vote a certain way because your boss or CEO or Union boss tells

01:18:33
you to they do and that's 10 year 10, here 10 here

01:18:37
and it's like that adds up. And then when you got that on

01:18:40
Lock and you got Lorena's just spewing the rhetoric to keep you

01:18:43
fired up, you don't need to, you don't need votes from other

01:18:47
people, you have it. Cured and that's what disgusts

01:18:50
me of even talking about. Tony, I can see, oh, it's a

01:18:53
shoo-in. No, it shouldn't be, you know,

01:18:56
like it actually shouldn't be. It should be an opportunity for

01:19:00
people to question him and, and juxtaposed a different vision

01:19:04
and it's like we're already here.

01:19:06
Oh yeah. It's and I'm not, you know, I'm

01:19:08
just that, that is the sentiment is like, oh, he's gonna oh, so

01:19:11
he's gonna be the state senate. Senator was going to run for it

01:19:15
but it's like no, he wanted already.

01:19:19
And I think that right there speaks to a broken system that

01:19:22
democrats should fear because God forbid it's a, it's a

01:19:25
republican. How are you going to?

01:19:27
What are you gonna do then? If it's just all Republicans are

01:19:29
you know, there's places like that and they would be shitting

01:19:32
her pants if they lived in the situation like that which exists

01:19:35
in this country. So to see them turn a blind eye.

01:19:38
I just think I don't know, it's crazy.

01:19:42
And I talked to so many Democrats that are fed up with

01:19:45
him. So, I don't, I'm trying to find

01:19:47
these 75 people who are just willing to write their write his

01:19:52
name down, but it's harder task than you'd think.

01:19:57
Yeah. So I guess this is a good time

01:20:04
to bring up this question to finish out because he's running

01:20:09
for state. Senate will fed up with Fletcher

01:20:13
be continuing the fight against Fletcher and his State Senate

01:20:16
run. So good question and I kind of

01:20:21
thought it might come up. So obviously like I said in the

01:20:25
beginning, I thought there'd be some grace period to readjust

01:20:29
how we're going to deal with these for next year's.

01:20:32
And that was cut in half to actually cut into like a fourth

01:20:38
because now he's going to start he's campaigning for the next

01:20:41
position into year. Like we're already in the

01:20:42
campaign season so I not to be invested in to keep things

01:20:48
moving in. Keep.

01:20:49
I mean, I'm sure he thought after 20 after the election,

01:20:51
there wasn't going to be another post about them on from that

01:20:54
page, and I'm sure a lot of people thought that but and

01:20:58
yeah, I've slowed down sure but I'm still Fed Up.

01:21:03
It did that wasn't that? Wasn't just a just a phase like

01:21:06
no, he still exists in this County as a leader.

01:21:10
I have a problem with it and I'm willing to sacrifice my time and

01:21:13
my own money to bring awareness to that.

01:21:16
So as for 2024, So just to just to explain kind of like the

01:21:22
logistics behind it. The pack itself, is the saint,

01:21:26
is the pack that I created is, the San Diego fact pack.

01:21:30
So that's the, that's the actual mechanism register with the

01:21:33
state of California. Now, with that, the campaign fed

01:21:37
up with Fletcher is was against for his supervisor 2022, race.

01:21:43
So, the funding was only specified to go after him in

01:21:46
that race. And then, when that race was

01:21:48
over, Are we closing it down? It takes a phone call and a half

01:21:53
to start it up again. So it's not like it's a

01:21:55
treacherous thing to be like, okay, well there's excitement to

01:21:59
fundraise and there's excitement to like bring more publicity I

01:22:02
can you know, I can be turned on easily and I think in this is to

01:22:06
anybody who's in Leadership positions Republicans fed up

01:22:13
with Fletcher, as an awesome opportunity to be creative in

01:22:17
the way you oppose him. And, and I say that, because a

01:22:21
text message actually was sent to most people here in San

01:22:24
Diego. And even on social media, the

01:22:27
Republican party is fundraising against Nathan $39.

01:22:31
Stop his state senate seat. Well, This, I could go on into a

01:22:37
whole different rabbit hole, but I think there's an opportunity

01:22:40
to have a very again, that's creative and non non predictable

01:22:46
approach with fed up with Fletcher.

01:22:48
I've tried to embody some of that and bring surface more of a

01:22:54
personalized experience of going against him.

01:22:56
And I think if that excitement because I don't that the thing

01:23:00
that will stop fed up with Fletcher, from being as like

01:23:03
boots-on-the-ground fundraiser. Like doing what we did is more

01:23:07
disenfranchised people. You know, I I can't pass out

01:23:12
10 hangers and feed myself, you know, by myself.

01:23:18
So if that excitement and energy is not there, then it's going to

01:23:21
be a lot. It's going to be difficult to

01:23:23
even be effect. Be route to be realistic and in

01:23:27
being effective, I've seen crazier things happen in

01:23:30
politics. So I will never say it.

01:23:33
Takes one. Turn of events to say, holy

01:23:37
crap, there's an opportunity, a window, let's take it so that's

01:23:41
always there. But it's really going to be.

01:23:44
How does the community respond to this?

01:23:46
So they just more like up. That's it.

01:23:49
He's done. He's Governor like just write

01:23:51
these, it's a Dun Dun game, he's Unstoppable or will people.

01:23:57
New region really bring the heat and say, all right this is an

01:24:01
opportunity with all this District 2 And all these

01:24:05
different regions to oppose them.

01:24:07
But it's Toni Atkins. So there's it's a kind of one of

01:24:14
those things but I'm staying open to it.

01:24:16
I've been posting here and there and me paying attention to

01:24:21
Nathan's moves and decisions. It doesn't stop.

01:24:25
So Yeah, awesome. So anybody who's out there,

01:24:30
listening, if you're interested in getting involved in joining

01:24:34
Zack and his fight, check them out, fed up with Fletcher, on

01:24:37
Twitter and on Instagram, you can find them there.

01:24:41
Facebook message him, Facebook, go check them out there and say

01:24:44
hey I LinkedIn podcast all those LinkedIn.

01:24:48
LinkedIn if you want to make it professional and what you know

01:24:51
but not go there as well. Are you on any?

01:24:56
Other is fed up. Fletcher on hinge or anything

01:24:59
like that, or I should be a plate marketing way of trying to

01:25:04
get chocolate. Yeah, really fed up with

01:25:07
Fletcher swipe right or something like that, but yeah,

01:25:10
if you're if you're interested, reach out to Zach because you

01:25:16
got to stop them while they're still local before, they get too

01:25:19
big, and that's Fletcher's. Definitely on his way up to

01:25:23
getting too big where we can kind of stop them before we for

01:25:27
Too long, we're saying governor, Fletcher, and then we're all

01:25:29
throwing up in my mouth. So, but we could go on and on

01:25:34
about Nathan Fletcher. I want to thank Zack for coming

01:25:37
on and educating us about Nathan Fletcher and yeah, it's been a

01:25:44
fun episode and I hope Nathan Fletcher does listen to this and

01:25:48
I know his director of marketing and Communications has reached

01:25:51
out to me for him to come on to the show.

01:25:53
I think, after they kind of did a little research, they figured

01:25:56
out. We might not be the most.

01:25:57
Friendly show in the world trim to come on, but hey, if Fletcher

01:26:01
wants to come on, he's playing some hon.

01:26:03
I told you I would have loved to have more Lon So, ya know, they,

01:26:09
they actively watch all of my stories.

01:26:11
So my personal and fed up of Fletcher, I caught Nathan post

01:26:15
watching the story about me broadcasting about this, so he's

01:26:19
aware of it happening and I'm sure tonight, or right now,

01:26:23
you've made it Bill, I've made it.

01:26:26
I've got on my fish Ali. Yeah, with the minute.

01:26:29
He tweets about number us. When you're yeah I'll be excited

01:26:33
to see right-wing extremists talk on.

01:26:37
A podcast, we're just so obsessed with me.

01:26:41
Oh my gosh. Reminds me of when I was in the

01:26:44
Marines, I learned overcome. This kind of behavior from these

01:26:50
people though. I learned in the Marines, how to

01:26:56
push back on bullies? Great.

01:27:00
Well, thank you Phillip. I really enjoyed coming on and,

01:27:03
like I said, I watch your episodes because you've given

01:27:07
Give such of about, you know, I think a very balanced way of

01:27:10
looking at issues that are already hyper-partisan and so I

01:27:15
always appreciated your commentary and I know that your

01:27:19
audience is there not just sit back and chill.

01:27:23
Like you've got an AG, you've got to, you've got to an

01:27:25
audience that is engaging and so I look forward to hopefully

01:27:29
connecting with more people as we get closer to this looming

01:27:33
2020 for state senate race. So thank you again for having

01:27:37
Having me Camille. Thank you as well for for Co

01:27:40
having me. Sure, thanks for coming on.

01:27:44
Yeah, fun lots of teeth. So keeps filling up, they'll be

01:27:50
more every single day and we didn't even start a Lorena

01:27:53
Gonzalez, but that's a whole different show.

01:27:55
We could do a whole Arena Gonzalez show, but as I like to

01:27:59
