00:00:01
What's going on everybody? Thanks for tuning in to another
00:00:03
episode of the California underground podcast.
00:00:06
I am your host Phil and I'm here with my trusty co-host, who is
00:00:09
the best and fastest researcher in the west Camille.
00:00:12
And also it's a special day. She let me know, before we
00:00:15
hopped on, it has been officially six months since
00:00:21
since she's been the co-hosts. So let's hear it for Is it going
00:00:26
to work? I was going to do the sound
00:00:27
effect. And of course it's a course
00:00:33
where we will come in a second. But anyway it's been six months
00:00:35
since Camille's been co-host. And it's been great and she
00:00:39
think to the day and she thinks she's going to get fired every
00:00:42
single time that we go on live or after a podcast.
00:00:46
But she wasn't making sure there's no danger of her
00:00:54
actually being fired off of this podcast.
00:00:56
So always glad thank You for being my co-host for six months
00:01:01
and putting up with me as well. Oh no.
00:01:04
Thanks for having me. I always have fun here.
00:01:07
Excellent. So this is sort of a makeup
00:01:11
podcast from Tuesday because we had technical difficulties with
00:01:14
James Gallagher. He's going to come back.
00:01:16
We are I assume we're in talks with his press guy to get him
00:01:21
back on soon. He said he really wanted to come
00:01:24
back through whatever the noise we were hearing from him.
00:01:28
He said, if it Very sorry wants to come back on, so James
00:01:31
Gallagher will be back on. So we said well, we can't go
00:01:34
without a full week without a podcast I said let's do this
00:01:37
episode where we kind of just do like a freewheeling.
00:01:40
Take your question sort of thing and that sort of like in the
00:01:44
last couple hours we start sending articles back and forth
00:01:47
and I like maybe we should talk about this.
00:01:49
Maybe we should talk about that and fitting enough because it's
00:01:53
June 1st. We started to talk or send stuff
00:01:56
back and forth about pride and what's Going on in California
00:02:00
and all the controversies. And yeah, it's probably going to
00:02:05
get a little spicy. Not going to lie.
00:02:08
So hold on just getting some stuff ready.
00:02:12
There is a lot of stuff that's coming up.
00:02:16
We got a lot of stuff. We're still going to take your
00:02:18
questions for still. Going to answer your question.
00:02:19
So if you have questions, make sure you put them in the chat on
00:02:22
rumble or YouTube, whichever place you're watching.
00:02:26
Any thoughts before we dive into this, not hot button issue.
00:02:30
Totally mundane, totally vanilla.
00:02:32
Not controversial. At all any of these topics.
00:02:34
Any thoughts before we jump into that, I think we should just
00:02:38
jump in. I have so many thoughts, but
00:02:40
they're related to, you know, we're going to talk about.
00:02:42
So. Are you do you have any
00:02:45
thoughts? Do I have any thoughts?
00:02:50
I mean, I do but I think like, once we get into it I'll kind of
00:02:53
express my feelings a little bit more about what's going on and
00:02:57
My opinion and it might be the might this might be like a more
00:03:00
spicy episode and I guess this kind of goes in line with the
00:03:04
pole, we put up on Instagram, which said do you want us to
00:03:06
cover more cultural issues? This would certainly cover the
00:03:10
cultural stuff. So this is definitely a cultural
00:03:12
issue here in California little bit of politics but mostly I
00:03:21
just keep talking because I know we have these technical
00:03:23
difficulties so I'm just going to keep talking over here.
00:03:27
Hopefully the gods the gods have not been nice to us for some
00:03:31
reason when it comes to podcasting us awake.
00:03:34
So we're just going to plow through maybe because it's God's
00:03:40
eyes Farm. Yeah, I shouldn't have put in
00:03:46
God's name, in vain. You sent me this article from
00:03:50
Riley's Farm who was Riley's Farm.
00:03:54
What is this before? I jump into this article or this
00:03:58
blog, it's Riley's Farm, is it's a nap before.
00:04:05
Do you prefer my talking over you?
00:04:07
I'm just not going to talk. No, it's a.
00:04:11
You said it's an apple farm. It's here in California.
00:04:16
It's, it's, it's in California. It's an apple farm.
00:04:21
Now, I forget exactly where it is, but it might be somewhere
00:04:22
between you. And I actually like in the hills
00:04:25
and they do lots of Civil War reenactments, you can go and
00:04:31
like, like, it's like old-timey Little House on the Prairie
00:04:35
style, lots of California, Southern California, Elementary
00:04:39
Schools do field trips there. I did, when I was in fifth
00:04:41
grade, I have also taken my kids multiple times apple picking and
00:04:45
they make Amazing, apple pies and they're a very fun like
00:04:49
family-friendly, event place to go to an explorer.
00:04:54
And they wrote this article about.
00:04:58
Yeah, pride month and transgenderism.
00:05:02
Which seems kind of odd but hold on pulling something up.
00:05:10
Oh, that's weird. We're not going live on Rumble
00:05:13
right now. Awesome, thanks, Riverside.
00:05:16
Killing it. This week.
00:05:17
Riverside. Riverside is the software we use
00:05:19
for our podcast is absolutely killing us this week.
00:05:24
It's not the problem here is that River.
00:05:27
I think it's Riverside. I think I have to write them a
00:05:29
nasty email because yeah, at this point this is two times in
00:05:34
a row we've had issues anyway. That's not what people.
00:05:37
All are tuning in for this article.
00:05:39
I'm going to get, let's read it. It's sort of like a Blog op-ed.
00:05:43
He says, when it comes to reliving mythology Zoar
00:05:47
re-enacting history, it's important to weigh the true
00:05:50
depth of the absurdities. We are being asked to applaud
00:05:53
and likewise to understand why are very compassion keeps us
00:05:57
from playing the adult in the room.
00:05:59
If you follow the comments in some of these discussions, you
00:06:02
see a huge majority of people plainly disgusted with falsely
00:06:05
realized identities. If most of the men who pined to
00:06:09
be, women could actually achieve such transformation.
00:06:11
We wouldn't be having an argument.
00:06:13
We would simply see them as women.
00:06:16
The problem is, they can't nobody wants to watch a football
00:06:19
game over beer cans decorated, with a skinny brushless, dude,
00:06:23
pretending to be a girl. It's no more real than a female
00:06:27
Daniel Boone or a fairy godmother with Mustache and
00:06:30
that's the point. They don't want real, they want
00:06:32
you to stop caring about real all together.
00:06:36
I suppose we could be libertarian enough to just walk
00:06:39
on by and we could be Christian up to feel sorry for them.
00:06:41
But that's not what these folks are after they want a very
00:06:45
intimate spot your child's bedtime story.
00:06:47
Our they want to be off in the Sin list at your pastors Pulpit.
00:06:52
They want to normalize cast of characters in.
00:06:54
Your teenager is public school reading list, they want the next
00:06:57
major Disney film to Future golden-hearted crossdressers.
00:07:00
And a mean and mean spirited, men of religion in short, they
00:07:04
want the social constructivist A man told so thoroughly that
00:07:07
girls won't be able to shop for gowns by themselves and boys
00:07:11
won't be able to cite the image of a surfer girl in a bikini.
00:07:15
We have reached a point, if Bud, Light, Target and Disney are any
00:07:19
guide where we have been asked to pretend for too long, where
00:07:22
we've been asked to affirm absurdities, too outrageous for
00:07:25
our tolerance and our child safety.
00:07:28
It may even be a costly benefit associated with covid debacle.
00:07:31
If you ask a nation repeatedly, to pretend incompetent,
00:07:35
scientists actually know what they're talking about.
00:07:37
You just might create a generation willing to say, okay,
00:07:40
let's keep the women with beards out of women's locker rooms.
00:07:45
So I think, I think this sums it up pretty well.
00:07:50
Especially coming from an Apple Farm.
00:07:55
I don't think you'd expect that from an Apple Farm, but I think
00:07:57
he kind of sums it up pretty well for anyone.
00:08:00
We always put all these links in the show notes.
00:08:02
If you want to read like the full article, you can certainly
00:08:04
do so. I and I would agree with his
00:08:10
last paragraph. I think we've gotten to a weird
00:08:14
point where it's, it's gotten to a point where the absurdity is
00:08:22
too much for people to really tolerate.
00:08:24
It's too much for people to accept anymore.
00:08:26
It's no longer about at this point, except it's more about
00:08:34
it's not just about I'm trying to figure out the right words,
00:08:36
because, remember we we don't want to A super spicy.
00:08:39
It's no longer just about like oh you we acknowledge you.
00:08:44
We know you have this lifestyle, that's great.
00:08:48
We don't care live your life, whatever you have the freedom to
00:08:51
do. So it's America to one of almost
00:08:56
obedience to This ideology where you have to almost kneel down to
00:09:02
this, but this weird ideology and it's gotten to a point where
00:09:07
people they keep pushing to keep pushing the keep pushing.
00:09:12
And I think you are starting to see the backlash of people
00:09:14
especially with Bud, Light Target and Disney, where people
00:09:17
are saying like, you know what, I was fine with it, I was all
00:09:22
about if you're an adult, go do what you want to do.
00:09:25
You do you? But now it's become Everybody
00:09:29
has to participate. And I think I've said this
00:09:31
before, like, forced participation is not freedom in
00:09:35
this sense, and that's what they're doing is your, they're
00:09:38
forcing Society to participate in these Lifestyles and a lot of
00:09:43
people are putting their foot down going.
00:09:45
I don't want to participate, like, I don't care if you do it.
00:09:49
I don't care. If you keep it, you keep it away
00:09:51
from kids. Don't let my kids see it.
00:09:54
Don't force me to participate in your lifestyle.
00:09:58
So, what did you think of this article?
00:10:02
Well, I liked the article a lot. Unfortunately, you broke up the
00:10:05
entire time you were reading it, but like you said, you ought to
00:10:09
the show notes and I heard like they obviously didn't read the
00:10:17
whole article, but they made some excellent points about, you
00:10:21
know, if your Daniel Boone it doesn't And be Daniel Boone.
00:10:26
Don't don't like put something else on us.
00:10:30
If your Snow White be snow white, you know, stop making
00:10:35
like Snow White is just she's not a man data blood is not a
00:10:39
woman and So those those characters, those people plan to
00:10:45
cast members as equipment is nearly and that, you know, they
00:10:47
can do whatever they want when they leave, but when you're at
00:10:50
work, you're your job. Is to be that position.
00:10:53
Your job is do that job, so it's really bizarre that they like
00:10:56
created this whole like now you bu but work.
00:10:59
I don't know. I just that is weird.
00:11:02
And I agree with them and like they made the point like Taylor
00:11:05
Swift agree with her or not. If you get a ticket to see
00:11:07
Taylor Swift, you get to see Taylor Swift, she's her, you
00:11:10
know, on stage personality, beautiful, girl, beautiful
00:11:14
voice. All that say, woman, she's not a
00:11:17
girl, but, you know, she gets up there and she entertains, she's
00:11:19
a woman, she entertains as a woman scholar costumes, all her
00:11:22
things, but like she's Taylor Swift and she's entertaining us
00:11:26
Anna. So, I thought that article made
00:11:28
really good points and then you went on to talk about Force
00:11:30
participation and I used Be of the belief that I go out to
00:11:35
dinner and there is a gay couple sitting at the table.
00:11:37
Next to me, then being married or not them having a marriage
00:11:41
certificate or not. It's not changed my life.
00:11:43
It has zero effect on my life. Like why should I care?
00:11:47
What is going on there? But when all of a sudden now
00:11:51
they're like, you will we demand respect, you will respect us.
00:11:54
Respect is like, you don't have to like us, but you have to
00:11:57
respect us. Know, I don't Respect is earned
00:12:00
and I'm tired of this. Like I read it in so many
00:12:03
articles where they're constantly just like you will
00:12:05
respect us and I'm not talking about just gay people.
00:12:07
I'm talking about the whole Pride movement, you will respect
00:12:10
us. I don't have to respect that.
00:12:12
I don't, I don't have to respect anything, respect is earned, and
00:12:16
I'm not just going to throw it out there, just because you say,
00:12:18
respect me. Yeah, and it's, it's no longer.
00:12:26
And I think maybe this is the year that you start to see
00:12:30
people say. Maybe they put their foot down.
00:12:34
Maybe this is the Line in the Sand where they say this is too
00:12:37
much and we're going to get to in a little bit about what
00:12:41
happened with the LA Dodgers. In this, the sisters of
00:12:45
Perpetual Indulgence, it may be the point where people say, you
00:12:50
know, enough is enough at this point and you know, I've heard
00:12:55
from from people who are who people are gay and they say look
00:13:02
I I don't even want to be a part of the lgbtq community anymore.
00:13:05
I just want to live my life. I don't want to be a part of
00:13:08
this community anymore. I was worried about this
00:13:13
happening. I was worried about this years
00:13:16
ago that this would just turn into.
00:13:18
Everyone keeps pushing and pushing and pushing.
00:13:21
I just want to live my life. I just want to sort of do my
00:13:25
thing. If I want to marry my boyfriend,
00:13:28
my makeup, my husband. Or you know whatever female make
00:13:33
them their wives that's fine. That's all they wanted to do.
00:13:38
They just want to live their lives and I think there's even a
00:13:40
part of the community that is starting to create a backlash
00:13:45
and that's why gays against groomers has become such a huge
00:13:50
following of people who are part of the community.
00:13:53
Say, like, look, I'm I agree with you.
00:13:55
I think it's gotten two radicals gotten too far as too much of
00:13:58
shoving. It down your throat.
00:14:00
Out even people in the community saying, you know, I wouldn't, I
00:14:04
don't want my kids to be exposed to some of the materials and
00:14:09
stuff that's happening in public schools.
00:14:12
Why would I think that's okay, just in the name of pride in all
00:14:16
of this stuff. So I think it's, it's amazing
00:14:21
how they make it seem like it's this huge overwhelming.
00:14:27
Majority of people. Like it's this, just the super
00:14:30
majority of people, it's almost like with the with abortion,
00:14:33
abortion to the same sort of way, they make it seem like
00:14:37
everybody in the country is for abortion.
00:14:41
If you're not for abortion, you're one of the weird radical
00:14:45
Fringe right-wingers, you're on your own, you're out there.
00:14:49
You're just being weird all by yourself.
00:14:54
They make it seem like you're part of this super minority.
00:14:58
But I think like, with what's going on here, a lot of, in a
00:15:02
lot of these issues in these controversies, you're starting
00:15:05
to see the actual super silent majority step up and go.
00:15:10
No, like, no, we've had enough, we're not buying Bud Light
00:15:13
anymore. We're not going to Target any
00:15:15
more Disney still making a ton of money, but the movies are
00:15:20
flopping. So I think they did this
00:15:25
incredible. Mind game where they and that's
00:15:30
usually the help corporations in the media.
00:15:32
To make it seem like you live in this world where you're the
00:15:36
minority if you disagree with it or you want to speak up about
00:15:40
about it. When in reality, I think there's
00:15:43
probably more of a majority than people think.
00:15:47
So question. Yeah.
00:15:51
What is the difference between pride?
00:15:54
In organized religion. That's a tough question.
00:16:00
Difference between pride and organized.
00:16:03
They are an organized religion. It is a group of people with
00:16:07
their set rules. That's what organized religion
00:16:09
is and their, you know, their God is I don't air flow,
00:16:14
whatever their fly, I don't know.
00:16:15
They're with their God is, but they're there, because they have
00:16:19
become. And I know you've made this
00:16:20
point to, like, they're like an organized religion.
00:16:22
They are, they are an organized religion.
00:16:24
I mean, if you look up the definition of what an organized
00:16:26
religion is pride, and if and you've made this point several
00:16:35
times, if you were to go into a public school and push, you
00:16:40
know, Catholic mass month, And the school was required to do
00:16:45
it. There would be so much backlash
00:16:47
if we were you know, to or anything Christian or even a
00:16:52
real EOS, you know, school rally dedicated to mass, there would
00:16:57
be such out Carly and yet somehow they're allowed to do
00:17:00
this with our tax, you know, tax-funded teachers Schools.
00:17:04
Administration, they're allowed to have these entire rallies
00:17:07
months. We'll get to the Flying of the
00:17:09
flag soon, all that at Public Schools, you know, Public
00:17:13
public. In is tax funded education.
00:17:16
Meaning we the people are funding it.
00:17:19
And yet if we were to go in demanding any sort of Christian
00:17:22
related thing Bible reading, we would we would be shoved out.
00:17:28
And this is if a school did it, they, there would be absolute
00:17:32
Anarchy and yet they're allowed to get away with this on our
00:17:37
dime. Yeah.
00:17:40
Yeah. I think I brought that point up
00:17:43
in the episode with Jessica top Pia who by the way go watch that
00:17:46
episode go to I forget how many episodes back it was but his
00:17:50
great episode, Jessica Tapia, if you don't know who that is, she
00:17:54
was the teacher who was fired for not pushing this the
00:18:00
transgender ideology on kids and because she's Christian, it went
00:18:05
against her religious beliefs to do.
00:18:06
So, she was fired. She's still in the middle of a
00:18:09
lawsuit right now against the school district, but I had made
00:18:12
the point that If if I as a devout Catholic came up to you
00:18:19
and said, the only way I can feel validated is you have to
00:18:24
come to mass with me every Sunday.
00:18:28
And someone says, well I don't want to go to mass with you.
00:18:30
I'm not Catholic, doesn't matter.
00:18:32
I have to get validated through your participation in my
00:18:36
lifestyle. Yeah, so I don't care if you're
00:18:38
not Catholic, you're coming to mass with me, you're going to
00:18:40
sit there, you're going to kneel, you're going to pray,
00:18:43
maybe you're not going to you're not going to have communion
00:18:45
because you're not true Catholic.
00:18:47
But, you know, it's it's how that's basically the ideology
00:18:52
here is they don't see, they see acceptance as you participating.
00:19:00
And you have to participate. And I think that's where a lot
00:19:04
of people are starting to diverge on this.
00:19:07
Is this idea of like look I accept you.
00:19:10
I accept that you love. Who you love?
00:19:12
I accept that you do what you want to do.
00:19:14
I'm fine with that. We live in California, we get
00:19:17
it. People are different out here.
00:19:20
We live in a kooky state but that's what people love about
00:19:23
California is it is a little kooky.
00:19:28
If you people don't love that, it's always kooky but but people
00:19:30
like that it's kooky and that's I feel like most people I feel
00:19:37
like that's most Americans that's probably a vast majority
00:19:39
of Californians is You know, you go do your life.
00:19:44
This is a free country, you know, if you're Christian
00:19:47
usually you shouldn't judge. Just go about your business.
00:19:52
But I think we've cut and gotten on this Divergence where people
00:19:55
are like, look, I've accepted you.
00:19:58
I've accepted you and respect you as a human being who does
00:20:01
what they want to do. But now you're asking me to
00:20:05
participate and we'll get to in a little bit with the assisters
00:20:08
of Perpetual Indulgence here, asking me to accept.
00:20:13
Basically public humiliation of my religious beliefs.
00:20:18
Yeah you are. You were asking that eyes that I
00:20:22
sit here and go. Yeah, it's totally fine.
00:20:27
That you Mock and degrade my religious beliefs.
00:20:32
Go right ahead. Because it's all in the name of
00:20:35
acceptance and that's what it's become as I could, do whatever I
00:20:39
want because it's all about acceptance.
00:20:42
And I think that's I think that's the Line in the Sand
00:20:45
where people go. You know, man, I was with you
00:20:48
for a long time. I'm not with you anymore, you
00:20:52
know, you're on your own, you've pushed too many buttons.
00:20:55
So, Well, also with acceptance think you they've I don't have a
00:21:03
problem with a gay person, I don't but I do have a problem.
00:21:10
With pushing this gender whatever is going on with our
00:21:14
kids, I absolutely have a problem with that.
00:21:17
I absolutely judge that. I absolutely do not accept that.
00:21:20
We're mutilating children in the name of acceptance and that's
00:21:23
not. Okay.
00:21:24
And so I do have a line there and it's like I don't hate that
00:21:30
like it's you know like you don't hate The Sinner but you
00:21:33
hate the sin kind of I don't know if you've heard that
00:21:35
subpoena Church. Certainly I've heard that it's
00:21:38
just like I am not of the belief that you know you can be fro
00:21:43
life but you don't go blow of abortion clinics.
00:21:45
I'm not of that. I don't condone that whatsoever
00:21:48
and you don't you don't go after the Dockers you know it's not
00:21:52
for me to go and take them out like that's wrong.
00:21:55
I absolutely don't go harass them.
00:21:57
But there needs to be like this, this needs to stop for kids.
00:22:02
It needs to be consenting adults.
00:22:04
Holy yeah. Yeah.
00:22:07
The push on kids. I think overall has been the
00:22:11
consensus of that was the line too far for most people once you
00:22:16
started to go after children and make that the next thing.
00:22:20
And it's crazy how they're doubling down on this.
00:22:24
Where it's not just Oh we want to expose them to it now it's we
00:22:31
want them to engage in it and what do you mean?
00:22:34
Yeah, we don't have a choice in what your kids want to do.
00:22:39
They're all our kids, you know, the kids belong to the village
00:22:43
and we're the village and we want to raise them up and it's
00:22:47
like that's where I think a lot of parents and people are going.
00:22:50
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a second.
00:22:53
No, no right now. Stay away from my kids.
00:22:57
Don't get don't show them that stuff.
00:22:59
Don't expose them to that stuff and then you have parents who
00:23:03
are on the left who are far left, who in the name of virtue
00:23:09
signaling. Feel like they have to Out do it
00:23:12
and go what? We're we're definitely going to
00:23:14
go to this drag queen Story Hour and we're definitely going to go
00:23:18
to this drag show with fake breasts and nipples and all that
00:23:22
stuff. We're definitely going to do
00:23:23
that because that's how woke we are, what's love, it's love,
00:23:29
it's acceptance. And I just feel like exposing
00:23:33
children to this who are so impressionable.
00:23:36
And don't know what they want to do in that they just want to be
00:23:39
children and they don't know what they want to do.
00:23:41
And lives can be easily influenced by their parents and
00:23:45
people in adults around them, right?
00:23:49
and, I've maybe I'm dumb it down too much or but who cares it in
00:23:58
my mind? This is how I see it when I was
00:24:01
a kid. I was a big fan of Teenage
00:24:04
Mutant Ninja Turtles. Loved me.
00:24:06
You know, I loved pretending. I was a Teenage Mutant Ninja
00:24:08
Turtle at, go out my cousin. We pretend we'd pick which one
00:24:12
we were? Where the favorite song to be
00:24:14
Michelangelo, I'm gonna be you know Donatello Raphael or
00:24:17
something like that. Nerds who are Teenage Mutant
00:24:20
Ninja Turtle? And to understand what the heck
00:24:22
I'm talking about. And I, you know, we played this
00:24:25
game a lot that was our imaginary game.
00:24:27
We pretended we were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, that
00:24:30
didn't mean as a kid because I pretended I was a Teenage Mutant
00:24:35
Ninja Turtle. That my parents should have
00:24:38
taken me to surgically get a turtle turtle, shell attached me
00:24:44
and paint me green. Like that's like kids pretend
00:24:48
kids of magic. They play around in their
00:24:51
imagination. They chained, who are they?
00:24:53
What characters there are that doesn't mean you rush out and go
00:24:57
like this is what they want to be.
00:24:59
They've identified they figured out who they want to be at 4
00:25:02
years old so let's run out and do this.
00:25:04
It's right. It may be an over simplification
00:25:08
but don't know. I feel like I've used the same
00:25:13
example. I have three sisters.
00:25:15
We had a pool growing up and we were lived in that pool.
00:25:19
We played Little Mermaid, we were all mermaids.
00:25:21
Hmm. I was like the ultimate girl
00:25:23
thing. You know and my parents
00:25:26
certainly didn't get us sins and stuff, like they've been
00:25:29
surgically attached a giant fan to you.
00:25:32
It's like it didn't happen. No.
00:25:36
Yet that was like our daily lives, you know, like six months
00:25:40
in the pool for mermaids. Yeah.
00:25:44
Look little imaginary make the league games like that.
00:25:49
You know, I remember at one point my younger sister saying
00:25:52
something like, oh, when I grow up, I want to be a boy and that
00:25:54
that in the 80s like you just laugh at that like, oh ha ha ha.
00:25:57
And then it's never brought up again and nobody, you know,
00:25:59
she's such a girly person. She's so girly.
00:26:04
Yeah, yeah, and people go through people, go through
00:26:07
phases and the fact that we as a society of accepted, That
00:26:15
mutilation, which is what it essentially is of children is
00:26:19
acceptable, because they've made this decision at a young age.
00:26:22
When they have not figured out who they are, is insane to me.
00:26:28
But sorry, with all, with all that said, let's move on to the
00:26:32
next thing. Well, I'm still going to move
00:26:35
on. Okay, go ahead.
00:26:37
So, I hope I have a recent thought that I'm trying to.
00:26:41
I don't even know where I stand on this.
00:26:42
Exactly. And I don't, If I can articulate
00:26:44
it that well but you can give me your feedback.
00:26:46
I started thinking about with Public Schools.
00:26:48
How there's, you know, we know there's a push to make the
00:26:51
teachers the school's replace the parents.
00:26:55
They're trying to separate kids from parents and and they're
00:26:58
using the excuse of, you know, it's not safe for some kids to
00:27:02
come out to their parents or to, you know.
00:27:05
And I and that's true. I don't deny that there's not
00:27:07
some unsupportive or terrible parents out there who will do
00:27:11
and say horrific things if they're Kids come out as gay or
00:27:15
transgender or whatever it might be that the parents don't agree
00:27:18
with yes that exists not deny and exist but so in place
00:27:25
they're being like okay well you know schools a safe place.
00:27:28
Let's let the teachers do this. In the teachers are going to
00:27:30
hide this from the parents because just in case just in
00:27:32
case and while I don't agree with that, I started thinking
00:27:35
well if that's the case then why aren't they then using the money
00:27:40
instead? Instead of like funding, this
00:27:42
whole agenda, Children. Why wouldn't they be then using
00:27:46
the money to be like parents? Which again again, I don't agree
00:27:49
with this because I'm like, government.
00:27:50
Get out of everything in my life, but instead of turning it,
00:27:53
you know, the kids on the parents.
00:27:55
Why are they not then going and having these like seminars or
00:27:57
whatnot for parents of, here's how to deal with your child,
00:28:00
does this? And this and again I'm not going
00:28:03
to agree with what they do, but I would rather that they talk to
00:28:07
the parents and be like, here's how you can handle this
00:28:10
situation. Should it arise versus?
00:28:12
Hey kids come to me. And I won't tell your parents,
00:28:15
like, if they really truly care about the issue, why are they
00:28:18
not going? And having these things funding
00:28:19
it for parents instead of kids? Yeah, it's kind of terrifying
00:28:25
that there is this trend of we're going to keep this a
00:28:29
secret from your parents right when we were kids.
00:28:33
We were told you don't know secrets from parents and don't
00:28:37
ever be afraid to go to your parents and stranger danger and
00:28:39
all that. Yeah.
00:28:42
And who's to say, like even if to keep it as secret from
00:28:46
parents, whose to say that the those parents won't specifically
00:28:51
be t''v of what happened. Well, I mean that to if the
00:28:55
default is, if the default is 0, we have to keep everything from
00:28:59
your parents. It does create this weird
00:29:03
relationship and this weird dynamic between the school and
00:29:08
the parents, where the school now believes that when the child
00:29:12
is in their care, it's their child and the parents are not
00:29:17
have no longer any agency or authority over their children
00:29:21
and that's the word dynamic that scares me.
00:29:23
I'm not even a parent but I can imagine if a school said We Know
00:29:30
Better. Better than you.
00:29:31
And we're not telling you because, when they're in our
00:29:34
care, they're our children. Then that would infuriate me as
00:29:39
a parent. Be like, excuse me, right?
00:29:41
They're not, they're not your kids just because they go to
00:29:44
your school. They're my children.
00:29:46
They could just easily go to another school, where that you
00:29:49
guys won't do this. And I think that's part of the
00:29:53
whole. It takes a village and these are
00:29:57
our children and it all the children belong.
00:30:00
Community. So parents really don't have any
00:30:02
agency over the children and if their children want to go do
00:30:05
something, it's like we talked about with Scott wiener in that
00:30:09
bill that he pushed forward with transgender kids that what that
00:30:16
did go into effect this year. Where if you are a child, who a
00:30:21
minor who identifies as transgender and you want to come
00:30:23
to California, basically, California will not recognize
00:30:27
the parental rights of parents out of State which is terrifying
00:30:33
that the parents can then no longer come and get their child
00:30:37
and child and come here and stay, California, just goes,
00:30:40
nope, you have no say over this, sorry.
00:30:44
Even if you get an order from a court in Oklahoma, to return the
00:30:48
child, we're not going to listen to it because it's California,
00:30:51
we don't care. It's just, it's a terrifying
00:30:55
shift in our society. That the state.
00:31:00
I would say the state overall because mostly this is all
00:31:03
public schools. The state overall is making this
00:31:06
push that you don't own your children.
00:31:09
The state actually owns your children and what will raise
00:31:13
them for you. You know.
00:31:14
Thank you for for Creating them and birthing them, we'll take it
00:31:20
from here. We want from crib through
00:31:23
college, that's their whole plan.
00:31:24
We want them from like as soon as their birth, we want to have
00:31:27
control over them from the minute, they're broke.
00:31:29
They're born all the way through college.
00:31:32
So we can create whatever you own a vehicle after college at
00:31:37
low student loans and, and they have to get, you know, whatever
00:31:41
job to pay back the student loans, and then you're just
00:31:44
owned by the government. It but they'll promise to then,
00:31:47
You know, what do you call it? To do away.
00:31:51
Why can't I think of the right word?
00:31:52
We're you know, erase eliminate your student debt.
00:31:56
So then you vote for the Democrats because they're going
00:31:59
to, you know, throw your death that you have.
00:32:00
So yeah, they just owe you for life.
00:32:03
Yeah, they tease you with that little little morsel of, it's
00:32:08
funny. How they went from they backed
00:32:10
off from this is has nothing to with the episode.
00:32:12
They went from Total student loan cancellation to How does 20
00:32:19
thousand dollars feel? It's like that's not all the
00:32:23
student debt but anyway, that's democrats for you.
00:32:28
Big promises and then they back way off of it.
00:32:33
So this article you sent me from the Los Angeles Daily News, it
00:32:38
was about pride flag flies over La counter headquarters for the
00:32:42
first time in history. It's a historic day in LA
00:32:46
County. County amid speeches, condemning
00:32:49
attacks on the gay community and anti-transgender laws in other
00:32:54
states. The Board of Supervisors make
00:32:55
good any March motion to raise the pride progress flak over its
00:33:00
headquarters containing County offices as a symbolic Act of
00:33:03
love and acceptance of all Queer County residents, can you say
00:33:07
queer? Is that not inclusive?
00:33:09
I feel like queer is not all that inclusive with excuse.
00:33:15
Forgot the rest forgot the rest of the alphabet.
00:33:19
I just, I sighed because it immediately starts off with a
00:33:23
bit. The attacks.
00:33:24
I'm not denying there aren't attacks, and we're going to get
00:33:26
to one in a moment. They happen but they make it
00:33:29
sound like you know you're getting stoned walking down the
00:33:33
street. If you even remotely have
00:33:36
anything fried related on or something, it's just I get you
00:33:40
know, amid all these attacks. Well, Joy Behar said I'm
00:33:45
surprised Ville. She said that they the red
00:33:51
States want to turn America into Uganda, where they throw gays
00:33:57
off buildings and stone them to death.
00:34:01
As like sounds kind of racist. Joy Behar you know talking down
00:34:08
about an African country, but I don't think we're anywhere close
00:34:11
to throwing LGBT members off, rooftops and stoning them
00:34:16
publicly in the street, but it's nice.
00:34:20
They acknowledge that, that stuff exists.
00:34:22
Yeah, I don't know, there are obviously hate crimes, but these
00:34:27
attacks overall are not like, It's not everywhere.
00:34:33
So the article goes on to say sister to T2 of the LA sisters
00:34:41
of Perpetual Indulgence, gave a blessing, calling the flag, a
00:34:44
lantern to bring the light, to those who suffer in the dark and
00:34:50
a Beacon of Hope to those who feel marginalized or forgotten.
00:34:55
And if you don't know the sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
00:34:58
which is what we have heard about with the Dodgers.
00:35:02
That's the whole controversy over there when you get to that
00:35:04
in a second. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles,
00:35:10
issued a statement at that time. Speaking against the decision to
00:35:14
honor a group, that clearly mocks, the Catholic face makes
00:35:17
light of the sincere and holy vocations.
00:35:25
And whole evocations of our women of our women religious,
00:35:29
the Diocese of orange called the sisters group, anti-catholic and
00:35:32
anti-christian and said they engaged in demeaning Behavior.
00:35:37
The Board of Supervisors invited sister to to the ceremony.
00:35:40
Something she said was an honor, we emulate nons because we
00:35:43
respect them, she s still hear something to keep talking.
00:35:47
We feel we are flatter opens back.
00:35:49
There is no hate in our except for talking about this article,
00:35:54
she denies Angeles Daily News where they're having the tape
00:35:58
recorder flying over. LA county has ours was the first
00:36:01
time in history and in attendance let me see I just
00:36:05
pulled up he beat each other. This and build inclusive.
00:36:08
We had through a lens of operations here at the LA
00:36:11
sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Gable blessing calling the frogs
00:36:15
Catholic group Lantern to bring light to those who suffer in the
00:36:17
dark and Beacon of Hope, president feels marginalized or
00:36:21
forgotten do. The sisters is a 44, year-old
00:36:24
charitable group known for drug depictions of Catholic nuns,
00:36:27
which I think we've all heard a lot about them lately Camille
00:36:30
for us in the news, like her screen, due to this whole
00:36:33
situation with the Dodgers, which we were going to kind of
00:36:36
touch base. Glee on that.
00:36:39
I don't want to get too far ahead of myself though.
00:36:41
Anyway. Yeah.
00:36:41
And so I think there was only like I said, all right, or five
00:36:45
people in attendance of this, but they talked about how they
00:36:49
will be flying, the pride flag at other public locations such
00:36:55
as libraries. Let me see.
00:36:57
I'm spoiling the article real quick to do.
00:37:02
Technology has not been great. I can tell you that right now
00:37:07
isn't really rough this week. They have not had it served her
00:37:10
to SeaWorld situation. They would basically at a bunch
00:37:13
of public anyway, places. So while we try and figure out
00:37:16
what's going on talking? So yeah, this is LA County.
00:37:22
Hi Steph. A lot of these things are.
00:37:25
If this is happening in public building County, like how much
00:37:28
was probably, should we not be asking for a month of straight
00:37:33
for this? If not like, simply 16
00:37:35
Americans, like my gosh, how about the blue lives matter.
00:37:39
How about a month before Memorial Day, or Veterans Day?
00:37:42
Like, should we be pushing for these?
00:37:45
Which are not all inclusive. But neither is the pride flag.
00:37:49
So, This called I'm just curious.
00:37:51
At what point do we just fly all the flags?
00:37:53
It's an actual Progressive group and says, work toward LGBT
00:37:58
Justice and build inclusive communities.
00:38:01
That would not be completely in line with the Catholic teaching
00:38:04
and away. So sorry guys, we've been having
00:38:14
technical issues with our studio that we use.
00:38:18
So I don't want to just be sitting here.
00:38:20
Just me on camera not saying anything that I know Phil had a
00:38:23
couple articles that he was going to bring up and even
00:38:26
video. That I don't have a k.
00:38:29
Think Phil's coming back for just a second here.
00:38:36
Okay, so there was a rainbow flag was burned at the Pasadena,
00:38:41
Buddhist temple, in late April, which was being investigated as
00:38:44
a hate crime, May 22nd employees of, okay, we're going to talk
00:38:48
about this. So I'll wait for Phil to come
00:38:51
back because I know he was going to talk about this article.
00:38:55
But there was another incident at an elementary school.
00:38:58
Are you back? I think I was talking to myself
00:39:01
for like the last 10 minutes. I was like, okay, Camille's God.
00:39:04
I'm just going to keep talking about this.
00:39:07
Well, are you talking about while I was gone?
00:39:09
I just talked about more about the article.
00:39:11
I didn't get too far ahead because I didn't want to, you
00:39:14
know, we have things to discuss here but I think we're good.
00:39:18
Okay. So did we talk about the pride
00:39:21
flag over LA County? I briefly went into that and I'm
00:39:25
not mentioned a few things about that article.
00:39:28
Okay? So I was reading it and then you
00:39:31
I went, I must have went out, so I'll go over it real quick
00:39:35
because I was going over. I was literally talking to
00:39:37
myself in the dark over there. I was like, I think it's Chic
00:39:40
drop out, or did I drop out your fight?
00:39:43
Anyway, good job holding down the fort while I was cooking for
00:39:47
this couple minutes. Who knows what?
00:39:50
We can always edit this in post anyway.
00:39:53
So I was talking about Out this because this was the sisters of
00:39:57
Perpetual Indulgence and sister to D2 of the LA sisters of
00:40:01
Perpetual Indulgence gave a blessing.
00:40:04
Okay. So this is a group that says, in
00:40:08
a says, later in the article. She goes on to say she's that
00:40:15
the group is not mocking anyone at Faith.
00:40:17
She said a progressive Catholic group, a call to action is
00:40:20
invited to speak on its website cut as a bubble blob.
00:40:24
Where's the line? I Wanted to see she said
00:40:28
something about. Well she said something about
00:40:31
how they're not trying to make fun of nuns.
00:40:35
They're trying to respect them, okay, although they're trying to
00:40:40
give out blessings. So if you're doing everything
00:40:45
like a nun, would do like, giving out a blessing and your
00:40:51
dressing, like, a nun. Sort of?
00:40:53
Because they're not actually dressed like nuns.
00:40:54
They just have to have Habits on. you're sort of in a way,
00:40:58
making a mockery of our religion and by our religion I mean as
00:41:02
Catholics the fact that they're saying well we're not making a
00:41:06
mockery of your it's just It's we're showing utter respect for
00:41:11
the nuns. Well, not really, because
00:41:14
you're, you're not respecting what they do.
00:41:17
You've turned it into a spectacle.
00:41:20
It's not serious. It's your own thing.
00:41:24
I've heard this said before, I think this is the point that a
00:41:27
lot of people are making right now.
00:41:28
When it comes to the sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is, you
00:41:33
wouldn't have the rabbi's a Perpetual Indulgence would you
00:41:39
Would you have the imams of Perpetual Indulgence now?
00:41:45
It seems to be that the Last Vestige of acceptable Prejudice
00:41:50
in America seems to be against Catholicism.
00:41:53
You can make fun of Catholics, all you want, you can mock them,
00:41:56
you can make a spectacle out of their religion, you can make a
00:42:00
spectacle out of the crucifixion in.
00:42:02
Jesus Christ, you can do all of that, it's fine.
00:42:05
It's absolutely fine. In fact, it's it's applauded.
00:42:09
And shared by progressives all over the celebrities in the
00:42:13
world culture. And they just seem to think that
00:42:18
they're not, they don't see the issue with it and they play
00:42:24
victim right away as to well, you're attacking us because of
00:42:28
who we are. No, we're bringing.
00:42:31
We're just critiquing and speaking our voices and saying,
00:42:34
speaking up to this and saying, wait a second, you're mocking
00:42:36
our religion yet. We're not.
00:42:38
Not supposed to say anything about it and that's leads us
00:42:41
into this whole issue, with what happened, with the Dodgers, and
00:42:45
Oliver baseball actually, because there's been a bunch of
00:42:48
players who have come out against what's happening with
00:42:51
the sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Clayton Kershaw, the
00:42:57
future Hall of Fame pitcher from the Dodgers came out and
00:43:00
basically say look I didn't agree with this, I was not a fan
00:43:04
of this and he was one who brought back Christian, faith
00:43:07
night. At Dodger Stadium as sort of a
00:43:10
balance to. Well, if you're going to do
00:43:12
this, we should also have Christian faith night.
00:43:17
But I did want to show this video hopefully, fingers crossed
00:43:21
Riverside holds on long enough for us to actually do this.
00:43:26
This is from Bishop Robert Barron because he's talking
00:43:30
about the sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
00:43:35
Who. Controversy involving the LA
00:43:46
Dodgers and the sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
00:43:50
You know, the Dodgers invited this group which I think can
00:43:53
only be described as an anti-catholic hate group,
00:43:56
invited them to be honored at the Dodger Stadium then when
00:43:59
there was a hollow of a protest from Catholics and others they
00:44:03
disinvited them good move but then they re invited them and
00:44:07
they re invitation was accompanied by a kind of
00:44:09
pathetic apology where they were praised for all the great work
00:44:13
that they do. Look, I'm not going to go into
00:44:15
all the details. Look them up on YouTube or
00:44:17
something, you'd find what they do.
00:44:18
I'll give you one example, it was on Easter Sunday, there was
00:44:22
a display where they have Jesus on the cross, so the most sacred
00:44:26
moment in history for Catholics. And of a drag, queen comes in
00:44:30
and kind of pulls Jesus off the cross.
00:44:31
Then does a sort of whole dance on the cross.
00:44:36
Again, for Catholics, it's hard to imagine anything more
00:44:39
offensive than that, and I just do a little thought experiment,
00:44:43
suppose this Group had dressed up in a kind of simulacrum of a
00:44:47
rabbi and it does something deeply disrespectful to the
00:44:50
Torah or take it a step further and dressed up in a, you know,
00:44:54
mockery of a Muslim cleric. Hurry Mom and then it desecrated
00:44:58
the Koran, what would their reaction be?
00:45:01
You know, those questions answered themselves but somehow
00:45:05
attacking, Catholics in this most disgraceful way is okay,
00:45:10
not only okay, it should be honored.
00:45:13
You know, me, Buddy, I've said this before.
00:45:15
There's a long tradition in our country of anti-catholicism, it
00:45:18
was said famously all about a century ago.
00:45:21
The last acceptable Prejudice in America's anti-catholicism.
00:45:25
We even hated by the extreme. Right think of the KKK.
00:45:28
Now we're hated by the extreme left, but we shouldn't tolerate
00:45:32
it. It should not be tolerated
00:45:34
within our American policy. One thing I would say a since
00:45:39
the Dodgers clearly are not responding to a decent appeal.
00:45:43
To reason. I'd encourage my friends back in
00:45:46
l.a. look. I was auxiliary bishop or six
00:45:48
years in l.a., I threw out the first pitch at a Dodgers game, a
00:45:51
few years ago, but I encourage my friends back there.
00:45:54
Boycott, the Dodgers masse to, especially my Hispanic friends.
00:45:57
Many of whom are big Baseball fans out there.
00:45:59
This is your religion is the religion of your family, of your
00:46:03
abuela and way low of your Familia, your tradition, why are
00:46:08
we tolerating? This, we shouldn't be tolerated.
00:46:10
So, let's pray everybody. Let's pray for the Defense of
00:46:14
our faith and let stand for the Catholic faith and God bless
00:46:18
you. So that was Bishop Robert
00:46:23
Barron, he's in Minnesota. He was like you said.
00:46:27
It was auxiliary Bishop in La for a while that videos
00:46:33
definitely gone viral for his public outcry of what the
00:46:38
Dodgers did. But you know, I think he's
00:46:40
absolutely right. And I don't think there's
00:46:42
anything I disagree with with him in that video.
00:46:45
Which is why is it acceptable in the name of acceptance and pride
00:46:51
month and all of this stuff do people have to be ridiculed and
00:46:57
it's ironic that they're their whole message and goal of pride
00:47:02
month is acceptance and love and this is our lives and we can
00:47:06
learn from each other. So that we can cut through
00:47:10
Prejudice and all of this only to have a night.
00:47:14
Honoring, a group that is prejudiced that critiques people
00:47:22
who are different than them. Makes a mockery of people who
00:47:25
are different than them, it is the opposite of Tolerance and
00:47:28
acceptance. So there was an interesting
00:47:33
quote I read today. That father it was Mike Schmidt
00:47:37
said. Said, is that the darker?
00:47:39
It gets the brighter. The candle of light is basically
00:47:44
meaning even though the world seems to be getting darker and
00:47:48
darker around us, there is a light at the light, which is
00:47:54
religion, whatever you are religious, for seems to get
00:47:58
brighter and brighter because people gravitate towards it.
00:48:03
But anyway, what are your thoughts on what Bishop Robert
00:48:06
Barron had to say in that video? Well, I absolutely agree.
00:48:11
I have a different idea of what instead of boycotting, although
00:48:16
I don't think anyone should go to the game.
00:48:18
That when is that the date with the sisters?
00:48:21
Do you know? I'm not quite sure but it's so
00:48:25
obviously, I don't go to that, but I'm just picturing a white
00:48:30
person showing up in blackface and being like, I'm representing
00:48:33
Jesus and I'm including all of you and that would not be.
00:48:36
That would not go over. That would be no.
00:48:39
Absolutely not. And that's the same idea.
00:48:42
And if you even go to their website and click on donate, the
00:48:45
comments are saw the message of hate spread by Christians, who
00:48:49
wanted to support your message of love.
00:48:50
And Inclusion. I'm in honor of Clayton, Kershaw
00:48:54
and then there's like, middle fingers, and, you know, thank
00:48:58
you for doing what organized religion should be doing.
00:49:00
And not thank you, ladies, you're a godsend.
00:49:05
I could go on and on but I won't.
00:49:06
So are they? I've heard the Christian.
00:49:11
The Kershaw night is canceled and then I've heard it's back
00:49:13
on. And is it also happening?
00:49:18
As far as I know, yeah, the Christian faith night is on, so
00:49:22
they're both happening. So this is where I see the
00:49:24
church as an opportunity and by the church, I mean, any churches
00:49:30
that are saying we're the, they show up to the parking lots or
00:49:35
the outskirts of the Dodger, Stadium, whatever.
00:49:37
And they literally, they have their tents and they are,
00:49:41
they're just introducing themselves to people and like,
00:49:43
saying come, you know, to my church.
00:49:45
Here's a flyer. Can I introduce you to Jesus?
00:49:47
And then they do the same thing on the Christian night, but they
00:49:50
the churches literally by out every single ticket.
00:49:53
Like, you know, larger churches by hundreds of tickets smaller
00:49:56
churches, by 100 tickets has your tickets.
00:49:59
They literally by out that entire night and they give the
00:50:01
tickets to their, to the communities, they get the people
00:50:04
to come and there's an opportunity for all these people
00:50:06
to learn about Jesus. So instead of making a hate on
00:50:09
hate, like we're going to retaliate, we're going to
00:50:10
boycott, you. We don't like you, you just show
00:50:12
up, you don't argue and you just spread useless.
00:50:16
That's my dog. That would be my answer.
00:50:20
Yeah, I think, you know, not to get too far into the religious
00:50:25
aspect of what we're talking about, but I think there is
00:50:30
something to be said about the church, does need to take a
00:50:34
stand and I'm glad that there are people like Bishop Robert
00:50:38
Barron, who full-throated Lee have come out, even the
00:50:42
Archdiocese of LA. And I believe that, Was it the
00:50:48
goes in the other article the Diocese of orange have also come
00:50:54
out and basically spoken up against the sisters of Perpetual
00:50:57
Indulgence. I think the church needs to be
00:51:00
more bold in these sort of situations and I don't think the
00:51:06
the common refrain for people on the left who are not religious
00:51:11
against Christians, is will your Christian you just have to turn
00:51:15
the other cheek, right? No, doesn't mean we get to just
00:51:20
be doormats doesn't mean we just get to walk all over us.
00:51:24
It doesn't mean you. We just have to sit there and
00:51:26
take the humiliation, you know, Christians have been persecuted
00:51:33
since Jesus died on the cross, doesn't mean that they all turn
00:51:38
the other cheek and just kind of went away.
00:51:40
Like every time someone criticized him, So there's
00:51:44
always this refrain of like, well, you just have to accept
00:51:46
it. You have to.
00:51:47
This is what Christians do. You just have to turn around and
00:51:49
accept it. Now, you don't have to be a
00:51:52
doormat, you can stand up and I think the church has to stand up
00:51:56
and be a little bit more bold and say what they're saying, and
00:51:59
say what they feel, which is we don't accept this.
00:52:02
This is anti-catholic bigotry, this is hate speech towards
00:52:06
Catholic. This is you know, mocking a
00:52:09
group of people based on their religious beliefs And I agree,
00:52:13
especially his point about the Dodgers have an enormous,
00:52:16
Hispanic fan base. The idea that there is a group
00:52:21
that is going to mock Catholicism, when you have a fan
00:52:26
base, that is You know, so so predominantly Hispanic in Allah.
00:52:36
It just seems weird that they were just snub their nose at a
00:52:39
good amount of their fans. And I mean it comes back to
00:52:41
whole thing with like Target and Bud Light.
00:52:43
Like why would bump I put Dylan Mulvaney on?
00:52:47
Its can when People who drink Bud Light.
00:52:50
Don't want to see the transgender on their their Bud,
00:52:54
Light can so any final, thoughts on Bishop, Robert Barron, and
00:53:02
this we want to get to the last Couple stories.
00:53:08
So I guess our take your questions episode turned into a
00:53:11
full take on Pride night for takeoff Parabola.
00:53:14
That wasn't even planned. This will be the this will be
00:53:18
the third time episode 212 has changed what its title was going
00:53:23
to be and they talk about this real quick because while yeah we
00:53:30
have been kind of speaking out against a lot of this there has
00:53:35
Also been pushback that I think goes too far, which is not the
00:53:38
right way to handle it. Transgender.
00:53:42
This is from LA Times transgender teachers pride, flag
00:53:44
burned at Saticoy, Elementary or protests.
00:53:48
Escalated on May 22nd a full-time teacher at the school
00:53:54
who is transgender discovered a pride flag that have been
00:53:56
displayed in a flower pot was burned in the pot had been
00:53:59
broken, The school has been dealing with internal problems
00:54:04
related to lgbtq+ issues. Besides the point of pride, flag
00:54:08
on May 19, three days after the instagramming Instagram account
00:54:12
Saticoy. Elementary parents was created,
00:54:15
parents pulled their children from a classroom that was being
00:54:18
taught by a transgender, substitute teacher.
00:54:19
According to three School sources, we spoke with the
00:54:22
times, The Substitute have worked at the school before,
00:54:25
never had any problems according to teacher who requested
00:54:27
anonymity out of fear, retaliation from the parents or
00:54:29
District, it was awful. Another staff member.
00:54:33
I get that people are freedom of speech and ability to believe
00:54:35
and have their own opinions. But in which when it deck and
00:54:37
correctly results in affecting the livelihood of another
00:54:40
person, it's unconscionable Is my favorite way that they try
00:54:46
and end it. The parent protests are part of
00:54:49
a national conservative movement against discussing sexuality in
00:54:54
grade school, which some activists say is a smokescreen
00:54:58
for anti lgbtq+ sentiment. It's not right?
00:55:07
I mean you're using it as a Smokescreen.
00:55:10
By saying it's anti lgbtq+ sentiment and you're trying to
00:55:15
cover up that all this stuff is happening.
00:55:19
That's the smokes rain. They think it's going one way.
00:55:21
It's actually going the other way.
00:55:23
It's kind of like if you want a perfect example, just read any
00:55:27
tweet on any given day by our favorite politician in
00:55:30
California, Senator Scott wiener, because he's always
00:55:35
gaslighting people to believe that all of this is because of
00:55:38
anti-lgbt. Hate speech.
00:55:42
When in reality, it's people just speaking up.
00:55:45
Okay. So, not the right well again,
00:55:49
not the right way to do it. Don't go burning Flags.
00:55:52
Don't be terrorizing. People make your voices loud and
00:55:55
heard in a civil organized manner.
00:55:58
So if you're listening, don't go burn transgender Flags, or
00:56:02
Pride, flags do like Robert Bob, Bishop Robert Barron, you know,
00:56:08
just speak loud. And with authority.
00:56:10
Let your opinion be known, don't hurt people, and don't bring
00:56:14
Flags the last thing I want to show you was this video for my
00:56:18
neck of the woods Chula Vista, Elementary board votes in favor
00:56:22
of raising pride flag, Let's pull that up.
00:56:33
H about raising the pride flag at the district office building.
00:56:37
Thank you for joining us on this Wednesday night.
00:56:39
I'm Kathleen bade a week ago, emotion to raise a commemorative
00:56:43
flag failed but tonight the board reverse course.
00:56:47
Our Sarah Alegre starts us off in the South Bay with the story.
00:56:51
It was an emotional day here and Vista after three hours of
00:57:00
debord finally made its decision and a 4-1 vote voting.
00:57:04
Favor of raising that fried flag, not only during the month
00:57:07
of June, but other months right here at the Chula Vista.
00:57:14
All those in favor of the resolution say.
00:57:24
The. Okay, so Phil's gone again.
00:58:19
So I think I should just read you some of this article from
00:58:21
the video that he was playing. Hold on, living it right here.
00:58:27
Okay. So Chula Vista California,
00:58:28
that's San Diego County. Wednesday was fueled by a debate
00:58:34
in South Bay over raising, the commemorative pride, flag board
00:58:37
members of the Chula Vista. Elementary School District,
00:58:39
listen to arguments on both sides of the issue at a special
00:58:42
emergency meeting for several hours.
00:58:44
After three hours of public comments, the board voted in a
00:58:46
4-1 vote in favor, raising the pride flag during the month of
00:58:49
June and other months throughout the year.
00:58:52
So now they're going to include other months which I actually
00:58:54
thought Thought that was maybe going to happen because, you
00:58:57
know, Pride one starts today, June first, but schools are
00:58:59
getting out over the next week or two and I thought oh they're
00:59:02
going to want to like push this back and push this back so they
00:59:04
get their full month and time. And some of the comments by
00:59:09
parents like there's one parent, trigger warning, my child who
00:59:11
was befriended by a Christian person in the school.
00:59:14
Once said I'm here to save you. I'm here to save you from being
00:59:17
gay that you're going to die in hell.
00:59:19
My child attempted suicide, two months later.
00:59:21
Chula Vista, parent Gretel Rodriguez, shared her Old-time
00:59:25
back was also there before the big Wednesday.
00:59:27
Okay, I'm gonna stop reading because Phil has the video.
00:59:30
Okay, yeah, I'm going to go back to the video.
00:59:32
I have no idea what's going on I apologize everybody its Internet
00:59:36
is just anyway. Let's go back to watching this
00:59:38
video where were we? I'll go back the resolution say
00:59:44
aye aye all those against I'm against the final.
00:59:54
Conclusion. Emotion, in Chula Vista against
00:59:58
one group was. Commemorative pride flag at the
01:00:02
district office. If I had the resources that I
01:00:05
had their like it gave like something anything like
01:00:08
representation, I would have not have swallowed a pills in order
01:00:11
to escape all the pain that I felt in my life parents students
01:00:14
and residents with pride and American flags in hand, a
01:00:17
symbolic of the change. They want to see all with an
01:00:20
individual story packed inside this boardroom centered around
01:00:24
the flagpole just outside at the Prague.
01:00:26
Amen. I can tell you that this pride
01:00:28
flag does not represent me. May 15th of May 21st.
01:00:31
We had National Police Week, did you raise a flag to honor our
01:00:34
police and it suited to vote last week, the motion in favor
01:00:37
of the flesh. Oh no.
01:00:45
I can't hear you. So it's just the video.
01:00:49
This is the video but I can hear you, okay?
01:00:53
Okay, well while it's I don't know what's going on with the
01:00:56
internet while it's figuring out and loading again.
01:01:03
It was interesting what that one person said, he says a proud gay
01:01:07
man. This flag does not represent me
01:01:10
and that's pretty bold for him to say this pride flag.
01:01:12
Does not represent me. Yeah.
01:01:16
And he said that there was police awareness week.
01:01:18
Did you raise a flag for police? Kind of a rebuttal to.
01:01:26
Geez. See.
01:02:22
We lost Phil again. So I wanted to just point out
01:02:24
that this is an elementary school like you know, K through
01:02:28
fifth grade and so they're just they're really pushing this on
01:02:34
the kids. Like you are going to respect
01:02:36
us, you were going to know as you are going to celebrate Us on
01:02:41
kids, it's children. You back.
01:02:45
We're going to try and get through this, and we're going to
01:02:46
try and wrap up this episode before the internet drives me
01:02:50
nuts. All right, ready?
01:02:52
Yep. Okay, let's go.
01:02:57
Oh, come on. Now, this doesn't want to work.
01:03:05
Anyway. Come on, let's go.
01:03:10
Let's go. There will be a word, a strongly
01:03:15
worded. Email going to Riverside
01:03:18
tomorrow morning going. What the heck is wrong with your
01:03:22
software? I give up.
01:03:25
Let's see if we refresh it. I just want to get through this
01:03:30
video and yeah, doesn't it doesn't want to work.
01:03:38
I apologized I wrote maybe it was, maybe it's Riverside, maybe
01:03:42
James gallier couldn't get on last week because it was
01:03:45
Riverside. That's what I'm thinking is, we
01:03:49
kind of want some lately? Yeah, it's been a lot of issues
01:03:53
with this software recently, so we'll have to figure out what
01:03:57
the heck's going on. Anyway, here we go.
01:04:05
Belonging to vice president, Francisco de Mayo, who ended up
01:04:09
flipping his vote Wednesday. How can any truly ethical person
01:04:14
flip their position. So easily and quickly, strong
01:04:18
leaders stand up for their principles without being
01:04:21
bullied. It's a historic move in the
01:04:22
South Bay reflective of a parents fight.
01:04:25
Down both sides of the aisle. We do not eat you.
01:04:28
Please adjust the diet, does not hate you but we are all included
01:04:33
in this flag. You are included.
01:04:35
Let's flag rooted and what they believe to be best for the
01:04:38
children of Chula Vista. I've been in support of raising
01:04:41
this flag. I stay in support of raising
01:04:45
this flag and I will always support raising this flag and I
01:04:50
support this resolution to protect our children.
01:04:53
This comes just shortly after the Carlsbad Unified School.
01:04:56
District voted in opposition of raising the pride flag at their
01:05:00
district and here in Chula Vista.
01:05:02
Now with the approval will not only see the pride flag during
01:05:04
the month of June. But Also, during the month of
01:05:06
October. There's a way whole what history
01:05:11
month for now, that's really what the Vista.
01:05:14
Sarah. Like, here's a lgbtq+.
01:05:17
I history month and it's October.
01:05:21
What is I? I don't know.
01:05:26
I don't know if it's what I is. I don't know.
01:05:28
What is it intersexuality or something like that?
01:05:34
Plus, I a IA to what? Hold on.
01:05:42
If we're still here, I need to find out.
01:05:46
And all you fine, lower always, evolving and changing.
01:05:54
Yeah. So it's become an issue now,
01:05:57
that obviously a lot of public entities and governments are now
01:06:03
raising the flag, obviously by flag law.
01:06:05
You can't raise it above the American flag, but still, it's
01:06:09
being raised everywhere and you can't criticize it.
01:06:13
And I think that one gentleman had the best.
01:06:16
Kind of best argument which is when it's about representation.
01:06:21
Did you? Did you represent every single
01:06:24
person and everybody who's been represented this year?
01:06:28
Or is it only the pride flag? Yeah.
01:06:31
And the fact that he said it came out and said I am a proud
01:06:34
gay man. This flag does not represent me.
01:06:37
I bet you there are many more like that gentleman who are like
01:06:42
at this point. I know what this pride flag
01:06:44
stands for It stands for you have to submit to this ideology
01:06:49
in this agenda and that's probably what he doesn't want
01:06:54
that. So I don't blame him.
01:06:57
It's become a hot button issue and the fact that you again,
01:07:02
it's about going back to the article that I read in the
01:07:04
beginning. You need they The reason for a
01:07:10
pride month, according to the op-ed, I read the beginning is
01:07:15
about validation, it's about validation that they need this
01:07:20
validation and that's what all of this is about.
01:07:26
Anyway what was the i in the definition?
01:07:29
Okay, let me eat lgbtqia. I don't even know what most of
01:07:34
us me. And this is going to make this
01:07:36
episode like 18 plus But the practice of confronting
01:07:41
heterosexism sexism. Gender is MM a low sexism a low
01:07:46
sexism and monosexism sexism in oneself and others out of
01:07:51
self-interest. And he concerned for the
01:07:53
well-being of lesbian. Gay bisexual transgender, queer
01:07:56
intersex and asexual people is founded on the understanding
01:08:00
that dismantling heater. A sexism monosexism trans,
01:08:04
oppression / trans misogyny / cissexism And also, sexism is a
01:08:10
social justice issue. Good night, Emma.
01:08:16
And on that note, yeah, it's I am not even like I'm laughing
01:08:24
because I don't even understand what I just read.
01:08:28
It just sell it sounded like you.
01:08:30
There were certainly words put together.
01:08:32
I don't know what they all meant in a row though.
01:08:36
So I applied this Browns old. It'd be like if there was a Mad
01:08:41
Lib and you just put all the stuff in a row, but anyway, we
01:08:46
have got on for a while. So we need to wrap this episode
01:08:51
up before the internet drops. I was just saying we probably
01:08:59
need to wrap this episode up before the internet drops me
01:09:02
off. Again, for some reason doesn't
01:09:04
like our episode All right, on that note.
01:09:16
We are ending the episode. I guess that was a good ending.
01:09:20

01:09:23
please drop some comments on YouTube and let us know if you
01:09:27
