00:00:00
What's going on everybody? Thanks for tuning in to another
00:00:02
episode of the California underground podcast tonight.
00:00:05
We have an episode where we're going to talk all about noodles
00:00:09
and his freedom tour. It's noodles and it's Magical
00:00:13
Mystery Freedom tour where he went out to all the
00:00:15
authoritarian red States in his words to tell them all about
00:00:19
freedom and Liberties and all that stuff and educate them
00:00:22
about how he's the most Freedom, loving person in the entire
00:00:25
country. And these mean Governors.
00:00:28
Like Ron DeSantis they just Don't understand and the
00:00:32
interview is conducted by one Jen sake.
00:00:34
If you recognize that name it's because she used to be the press
00:00:37
secretary for President Biden. She now has a cushy job over at
00:00:41
MSNBC where she gets to gush all over politicians, like Gavin.
00:00:44
Newsom. We're going to watch some of
00:00:46
that interview this evening. But before we begin, I am, I
00:00:49
trusty co-host with me. Here Camille the fast and best
00:00:52
researcher in the west. How's it going tonight, Camille?
00:00:56
I good. Thanks.
00:00:57
How are you? Phil, nice shirt.
00:00:59
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
00:01:00
I figured, I'd wear my noodle shirt just specifically for this
00:01:03
episode. I always liked these episodes
00:01:05
where we just get to watch noodles, kind of ramble on and
00:01:09
for people who don't know what we're talking about.
00:01:11
If you don't know what our nickname for Gavin Newsom is
00:01:14
noodles. There's a whole story behind it.
00:01:16
It's mostly because he has little noodley arms, and he has
00:01:19
kind of a noodley personality as well.
00:01:22
So initial thoughts, before we hop into this interview, From
00:01:27
you Camille. Yeah, I always have thoughts.
00:01:30
It's, it's a heart interview to watch.
00:01:32
It's I mean, it's only 35 minutes but Jen is just gushing
00:01:36
over him every before every single question, she's just
00:01:38
like, oh my gosh. I just want to eat you up yappin
00:01:42
and, you know, just like leaning for gushing over him and then
00:01:45
he's got a slick back hair and it's perfect like teeth.
00:01:47
But at the same time he's got this really likes out slouchy to
00:01:50
meet her where he's just like like suit jacket open.
00:01:53
He's just kind of like, I want to, you know, you're not Not but
00:01:58
he's trying to go for the Casual look because he's doing the suit
00:02:01
Noti thing for me was hard to watch her that it was hard to
00:02:07
watch. She was definitely not.
00:02:09
She's trying, I think she's trying to be a professional
00:02:12
interviewer and professional journalist, but this interview
00:02:15
comes off, so biased. As if they're like, just two
00:02:18
high school girls chatting away about gossip and stuff like
00:02:21
that. It's definitely not
00:02:23
professional. It's just all softball
00:02:24
questions, but what can you expect?
00:02:26
It's MSNBC. PCH gents a key.
00:02:29
So the whole interview is basically just softballs form
00:02:32
and we could always hypothesize what he's doing.
00:02:35
Why is he out on the road who's paying for it?
00:02:38
We'll talk about that in a little bit.
00:02:40
But let's jump into it because it's a pretty long interview.
00:02:44
I don't know if we'll get to all of it, but I do want to get
00:02:47
through some of the things, especially when he talks about
00:02:49
gun reform because I love hearing noodles, talk about guns
00:02:53
because boy, does he really Get to exemplify our a kind of show
00:03:00
his expertise on Firearms, it's just unbelievable.
00:03:03
Also, his knowledge of history of the Second Amendment is quite
00:03:07
fascinating. So with further Ado, let's hop
00:03:11
into this interview with Gavin, Newsom and gents a key.
00:03:20
If pledged to take on authoritarian leadership and red
00:03:23
States. Before we even start about two
00:03:26
seconds and already, she goes, you're on tour to take on
00:03:30
authoritarian leaders in red States boy, let's not show our
00:03:35
bias right off the bat or anything.
00:03:37
She already agrees that anybody in red states are already
00:03:40
authoritarian and she's already teen it up for him.
00:03:43
So right off the bat, nice and biased, not like, hey you're on
00:03:48
tour too because of these All causes or whatever.
00:03:51
It's let's talk about these authoritarian leaders in red
00:03:54
States. So already you can tell what
00:03:58
type of gushy interview it's going to be Yeah, barnea
00:04:03
Progressive on Jews. I think it's safe to say the
00:04:05
right person to do that. I'm not total humility, I'm not
00:04:08
the right person. I would agree with that.
00:04:10
You're not the right person to go lecture anybody on
00:04:12
authoritarianism, especially after what you put California
00:04:16
through. What's that total humility
00:04:19
though? He's like with total humility.
00:04:22
No, no. There's nothing.
00:04:24
Nothing humble. Now, promise me up.
00:04:26
Stop. Stop.
00:04:27
Fanning over me. I'm just I'm just a I'm an
00:04:30
average. Joe like the rest of you.
00:04:34
Well, that's our responsibility. All of us has to beat this
00:04:36
moment. We all our citizens and we are
00:04:39
not inert, we have to be more active.
00:04:40
We have agents that we can shape the future.
00:04:42
I have been to represent a state of 40 million Americans but in
00:04:46
the spirit of dr. King lost his life 55 years ago,
00:04:50
to the day, we're all bound together by a web of mutuality.
00:04:53
We're All in This Together and in this notion that we are
00:04:56
celebrating politicians that are promoting and National divorce,
00:05:00
most a civil war narrative Sickens me and my soul.
00:05:05
And so I felt compelled to get out and at least express my role
00:05:09
and individual responsibility as a citizen.
00:05:11
Not just as Governor Now, isn't it, always California.
00:05:14
Who loves to brag about? We have the fifth largest
00:05:17
economy. What would you guys do without
00:05:19
us? And California could just do
00:05:22
fine on its own. So, what a national divorce in
00:05:24
his mind actually benefit California, he can Yeah, he
00:05:29
could be king of California, he would never have to resign as
00:05:32
Governor. I always thought that the way
00:05:36
they made a silence California, doesn't need the rest of the
00:05:38
United States. So what's he worried about a
00:05:40
national divorce for? And they always talk about how
00:05:44
all the blue states don't take in as much.
00:05:46
Welfare is the red States. Although when you look at actual
00:05:50
like the numbers of who takes in the most welfare in the red
00:05:52
States, It's usually the blue cities that kind of tips the
00:05:55
scales but honest question. And are we even still talking
00:06:00
about a national divorce? I think that was like a Marjorie
00:06:05
Taylor green thing. It's been a Libertarian thing
00:06:10
for a while and it's bubbled up through like more libertarian.
00:06:15
Republicans, this idea of a national divorce and I've always
00:06:19
wanted to talk more about the idea of a national divorce, but
00:06:22
I think it might be a little too heavy in terms of the the
00:06:26
psychology or philosophy behind it.
00:06:29
Um, but it is an interesting concept.
00:06:33
The idea of a national divorce, like should we still remain a
00:06:36
country? If we can't get along and we're
00:06:37
this polarized but I guess in his mind, yeah, we have to stay
00:06:42
together. So but no, I don't think
00:06:44
anyone's really talking about National divorce anymore.
00:06:46
I think that kind of moved out of the Zeitgeist like two or
00:06:50
three months ago and that is, are you telling me that's why he
00:06:53
went on tour was this idea of national divorce like three or
00:06:57
four months ago? I seems like a odd reason for
00:07:01
him to just go on tour. I mean, we all know why he went
00:07:05
on tour with this Freedom towards most likely to kind of
00:07:10
bolster his presidential image. Just in case, Biden decides to
00:07:14
step aside in 2024, you'll have someone who's already and I give
00:07:19
him credit Gavin's, already sort of making the moves to be the
00:07:23
Democratic, FrontRunner, in case, that does happen, he'll
00:07:26
already have the national recognition and the love of a
00:07:30
lot of his Progressive base. But let's keep going and see
00:07:35
what else he has to say. Yeah.
00:07:40
To call it out called out what I'm seeing and we're sitting
00:07:43
here in a museum, dedicated to Rosa Parks, what a historic,
00:07:47
incredible person and person in our history and you brought your
00:07:51
for kids with you on this trip. And part of this is, you know,
00:07:55
we're obviously seeing a concerted effort to prevent his
00:07:58
and they're just adorable and I love them and oh my God, I can
00:08:01
just eat them up. They're just so great.
00:08:20
Because I had to get plenty of photos and and I just never saw
00:08:25
those back and I run for president.
00:08:28
I have photos and videos of me and my kids and my family doing
00:08:31
these wonderful things. Come on, Jen.
00:08:34
You know this you've worked for President Biden also.
00:08:39
What is with this fake? Code switching.
00:08:43
Southern drawl that he just. Did you pick up on that?
00:08:47
I just picked up on the way he went.
00:08:49
Didn't, I didn't over the way he picks.
00:08:52
He says, because I don't want my kids to ever ride in the back of
00:08:56
the bus. It's like, excuse me, you are
00:09:00
he's in Alabama, right? Yes.
00:09:04
Yeah, he's in Alabama because it's the Rosa Parks Museum.
00:09:08
But which I think I said this to earlier, this really annoys me
00:09:11
that he's in a red state in the Rosa Parks Museum complaining
00:09:17
about them. Not wanting to teach real
00:09:19
history in the Rosa Parks Museum.
00:09:22
Yeah. They literally created a museum
00:09:25
to Rosa Parks in Alabama, to show the history of what
00:09:30
happened during the Civil Rights Movement.
00:09:31
And he's saying, red states do don't want to show the history
00:09:35
of America. Yes, yes.
00:09:39
Get. Also, this is one of the states
00:09:41
that we talked about this before.
00:09:42
The show isn't an Alabama, one of the states that has been on
00:09:47
the banned list of California politicians.
00:09:50
Now granted, what that means is that they were not going to
00:09:54
spend California money or any of the money for the legislature to
00:09:58
go to these certain red States. So, if there was a conference or
00:10:04
something, they weren't going to send politicians there because
00:10:08
they didn't want To travel to those States, as if those States
00:10:11
really work withering in their boots.
00:10:13
Because a couple politicians from Sacramento, couldn't come
00:10:18
but he's now traveling to these states correct which is
00:10:21
definitely not government funded.
00:10:26
Now this is not government funded.
00:10:28
So for people who say like, oh that he's taking a tour on our
00:10:30
tax dollars, he's not taking a tour on our tax dollars, he'll
00:10:35
tell you whose dollars, he is taking the tour on but it's not
00:10:40
what he says. It is right here, I'm talk about
00:10:43
while mock. My kids will never sit in the
00:10:46
back of the bus. Now, he sounds like Forrest
00:10:50
Gump. I said I want them to shape
00:10:54
history just as Rosa Parks, did I to be Wells did in 1883, I
00:10:58
mean, rose, that was echo of, I had to be Wells, moral
00:11:01
leadership. You have to be something to do
00:11:03
something. I mean, that's the spirit of
00:11:05
this Museum. That's a spirit of these
00:11:07
remarkable leaders. I think you're so fixated on
00:11:12
waiting to be mayor. Sitting someone's waiting to be
00:11:14
president. We know that, that's for sure.
00:11:17
Because he's obviously done with being Governor, he's over being
00:11:20
governor of California, he's like four or five months into
00:11:23
his second term and he's already like, I'm over this Governor
00:11:27
think, can I just travel the country and talk about myself
00:11:30
like and how wonderful I am? If the world and want my kids to
00:11:37
know, they have moral Authority, they have the ability to shape
00:11:40
the future, and I think examples like this or enlivening and
00:11:44
inspiring, and, and I just want him to understand again, not
00:11:48
just intellectually, I want them to feel the congruence of sorts
00:11:51
and emotional attachment head, and heart action passion.
00:11:56
And so, being out here, you feel it in a different way.
00:11:59
I mean, these the same streets, I was just the Legacy Museum,
00:12:03
Bryan Stevenson, I mean it should be real.
00:12:05
Acquirement. I'm not in.
00:12:07
I know if everyone's fear when a Democrat, says, anything should
00:12:09
be required. It's not a mandate, but it, you
00:12:12
know, if I could and we know he loves those mandates.
00:12:18
Every child, every law enforcement officer every Social
00:12:23
Service, leader should be compelled to understand more
00:12:27
fully. What?
00:12:27
I was just privilege to experience and that's the
00:12:30
history of our country, our nation and to understand in a
00:12:34
deeper way. So we can push back against The
00:12:37
Narrative of those that want to rewrite history that want to
00:12:41
rewrite historical facts that have the audacity not only to
00:12:46
promote it, but to actually, Really produce results in state.
00:12:49
After state that are rolling back, these fundamental rights
00:12:53
and banning books. Banning speech, criminalizing
00:12:57
instruction, he loves this line about banning books in red
00:13:01
States. It's one of his is favorite red
00:13:04
herrings to say, like they're banning books in red States.
00:13:08
You sent me an article about that, actually in California.
00:13:13
They're banning a good amount of books in City of Burbank, they
00:13:18
And five well-known titles. Huckleberry Finn the K Roll of
00:13:21
Thunder. Hear Me Cry Hear My Cry and Of
00:13:23
Mice and Men so California does its fair share of banning books
00:13:28
as well. Was it to Kill a Mockingbird was
00:13:32
also banned remember reading that but there is a if you don't
00:13:38
watch this channel they're actually really funny.
00:13:41
And I'm going to switch over real quick just for a quick
00:13:46
little If you don't watch Freedom Tunes, they're actually
00:13:51
really funny. It's funny that we were watching
00:13:53
this came out literally today, so, this is the title of it.
00:13:58
For audio is what liberals mean by book.
00:14:00
Banning, I apologize to audio because you won't be able to
00:14:03
watch it. Yeah, check this out.
00:14:21
Hey what are you doing? Someone is trying to pass a box.
00:14:33
What she wants to Bear my queer literature.
00:14:37
Oh, so we've got a book Banner that's Judge.
00:14:40
Shameful acts, that are telling him, he can't show port to my
00:14:45
kid. Have you heard of a little thing
00:14:48
called the First Amendment? Yeah, so much for free speech.
00:14:53
How are you siding with this pervert?
00:14:57
Definitely recommend you check it out.
00:14:59
But I think he Nails it in the sense that liberals love to be
00:15:03
like they're banning books in these states and it's just isn't
00:15:08
it horrible? Isn't it shameful that?
00:15:10
They're banning all these books and they just don't want people
00:15:12
to read these books and it's like they're not Banning The
00:15:15
Odyssey or The Iliad or Shakespeare or anything like
00:15:19
that. They're usually most these red
00:15:21
states are Banning books that are inappropriate for children
00:15:24
to be reading and should not be on public libraries.
00:15:28
They never talk about. Specifically, what books?
00:15:30
They're banning. They just like to say they're
00:15:32
banning books. Let's see what else he has to
00:15:42
say, destruction, that's a serious threat to our democracy
00:15:47
and our understanding of who we are and what we're capable of
00:15:51
doing in the future. Now, part of what you're doing
00:15:53
here is also meeting with up-and-coming Democrats, people
00:15:56
who are running for office. They want to run for office.
00:15:59
What are you hearing from them? And are they asking you to come
00:16:01
back and campaign? For them, know what they're what
00:16:03
they're saying is, you know, it's been amazing.
00:16:06
I want to over state it but it's like, thank you and they
00:16:09
thanking you for your Sources for your advice, giving a damn,
00:16:14
you know, I'm not this is not the typical Road Show for
00:16:17
Democrats. It's I have you, you know,
00:16:19
better than anybody. It's not the 2024 map.
00:16:21
Not, it's not a place where people like you spent a lot of
00:16:24
time. Oh, and and we should and these
00:16:27
were blue legislative States just a few years ago, just a few
00:16:32
years ago 2010 here in Alabama and Mississippi Arkansas.
00:16:38
We forget that wasn't a hundred years ago.
00:16:41
Just a decade and a half ago and I feel like they feel abandoned.
00:16:45
They really I think to I mean the folks I talked to her like
00:16:48
thank you for caring. There's a lot more of us, they
00:16:51
say that I'm one of us that people believe we're not red
00:16:53
States. We're just not doing the hard
00:16:56
work of a, I guess you could make the same argument here in
00:16:59
California. There are a lot.
00:17:02
More conservatives than people believe, like what's the stat
00:17:07
that people love to throw out, which is that more people For
00:17:11
Donald Trump in the last election here, in California
00:17:14
than any other state, like more. Like, he got more Republican
00:17:17
votes here in California than any other state, which is a
00:17:21
pretty impressive number when you think about it, right?
00:17:24
Right. But I just two things that stood
00:17:28
out to me, this little serving it segment that you just one.
00:17:30
There was a I took a screenshot of Kevin Kylie tweet because
00:17:34
this whole standing up for democracy line that they like
00:17:38
loved throw out Kevin Kylie, actually.
00:17:41
Did you some could have let voters choose?
00:17:43
Who would replace Kamala Harris in the Senate instead?
00:17:46
He installed his, ah, his eye looks Padilla.
00:17:49
Then he started talking about who lead a point.
00:17:52
If Einstein resigned, this isn't democracy or its art, this isn't
00:17:55
how democracy is supposed to work, right?
00:17:59
For this democracy. Loving, man, he sure doesn't
00:18:02
believe it own State and then when he, he's like, people are
00:18:06
thinking me just for, for giving a damn, well, no, that's not how
00:18:11
California business owners feel that were, you know, lost their
00:18:14
businesses. The last three years we're not
00:18:17
thanking him for giving a damn about us during these lockdowns.
00:18:21
So I had, what I know from talking to other people.
00:18:25
I'm sure seeing for you who live in other states, is that they
00:18:29
couldn't even fathom. Like, if we traveled, even to
00:18:32
other states, they couldn't fathom that like, wait,
00:18:34
California still has that mandate.
00:18:36
They still have that in place? We let go of that six months
00:18:39
after you don't like It would like, could have Texas, you go
00:18:42
to Oklahoma. And people are just like what?
00:18:46
You're not to do this in California, yet they're still.
00:18:49
They're still holding you to this.
00:18:50
And so I suppose that there's people who were naive to what's
00:18:54
going on in California, the last few years who might be thanking
00:18:57
him. But those of us in than actual,
00:19:00
no living through it. Like, Mmm.
00:19:02
Yeah. And it's been done to that point
00:19:06
about democracy. It's interesting because After
00:19:11
the whole recall effort the legislature took drastic
00:19:17
measures and made a big push to make it harder to get props and
00:19:21
referendums and recalls qualified.
00:19:24
So this idea of all we believe in democracy and and
00:19:28
everything's a threat to democracy and you know, doesn't
00:19:31
matter like you could pick something out of a hat and it's
00:19:34
a threat to democracy but they're taking actions in
00:19:37
California. To literally stop democracy,
00:19:43
which is the Democratic vote of people to recall their leaders.
00:19:48
Make a referendum on the laws which those were put into place
00:19:53
during a progressive area. At the turn of the century and
00:19:56
1900s to make the state more democratic.
00:20:00
And now they're trying to roll back, those sort of democratic
00:20:05
policies or Democratic tools for the people here in California.
00:20:12
I'm getting out there and I'm not suggesting people aren't
00:20:15
working hard. They are and I met them.
00:20:18
Folks, but they just haven't gotten the memo.
00:20:21
The cynicism memo, the fear and anxiety mental like working hard
00:20:25
every single day and bottom up right.
00:20:28
And they're just saying, you know, what glad a, you know, a
00:20:31
Democrat from another state wants to sort of highlight the
00:20:33
work and yeah, I have some resources.
00:20:36
We were able to start this Pastime start resources, he
00:20:40
makes it sound like he was able to Cobble together.
00:20:43
A couple bucks for this pack. The guy just ten million dollars
00:20:48
Yeah. No big deal.
00:20:51
It's a federal pack. Correct, it words, it's a
00:20:56
federal pack and he used what I read.
00:21:00
I haven't seen because financials are not out yet, but
00:21:02
what I read was that he used the leftover funds from his Governor
00:21:05
campaign. So he transferred the Celtic,
00:21:08
his State campaign fund into a federal pack.
00:21:12
Yeah, makes sense. I mean, I don't think you spent
00:21:14
that much in the last election anyway, so he probably still, I
00:21:18
think you're sitting on like 24 million dollars in his War chest
00:21:20
at the end of the end of it. Also, yeah, what's 10 million
00:21:25
dollars between friends? So Is the few million dollars in
00:21:31
just the last few days and I have the opportunity.
00:21:36
What a gift to not to say, thank you for the word isn't but let
00:21:40
me contribute wrong way. Let me see if I have this a
00:21:43
federal pack like that can then can it transfer money again or
00:21:46
it can be used to help a president like campaign for a
00:21:50
presidential race, right? They can't coordinate but I
00:21:53
believe that that could then be used to leave it.
00:21:59
Can't right? I believe so.
00:22:03
So I'm pretty sure if people don't remember.
00:22:08
Way back around 2004-2005 or whatever.
00:22:16
I think it was around that time. President Obama came out with a
00:22:19
pack I think it was like America for America forward or something
00:22:24
like that. I can't remember the name of the
00:22:25
pack now and the idea was this sort of same thing which was I'm
00:22:30
gonna go around the country in organized and get Democrats
00:22:34
excited and I'm going to talk about all these great things and
00:22:37
the point of my package to help get Democratic leaders elected.
00:22:40
And then obviously he ran for president and then that pack
00:22:43
became sort of like his other pack.
00:22:45
And then There are a bunch of other products but it's sort of
00:22:48
the same game plan here which is you start this idealistic pack
00:22:53
use the pack to go around the country campaign for the pack,
00:22:58
which is really campaigning for yourself.
00:23:00
And then when it's time to run for president, you have this
00:23:03
pack already and you've established name recognition.
00:23:05
So right? I believe Larry Elders about to
00:23:09
do that, you know, Larry Elder had several million left over
00:23:12
for one. He ran in the governor recall in
00:23:15
California. Yeah, which then he started the.
00:23:18
I forgot what it was called something to save America.
00:23:21
Something like that packs that are four pack and now he's
00:23:25
running for president. And I believe that will now be
00:23:27
turned into a presidential his campaign.
00:23:31
Makes sense. They're not rewriting the book
00:23:35
here, but others to say, you know what, everything State
00:23:42
matters, everybody matters. And Democrats as well.
00:23:47
It's and they feel a little abandoned not by the national
00:23:51
party but abandon at a time of need by the progress in the
00:23:56
ruthlessness of the right and the need to feel like their
00:24:00
voice matters and we have their back during this very
00:24:03
challenging time. So you were just re-elected to
00:24:06
serve a second term. That's where some of the money
00:24:09
they came. He looks so sad about these
00:24:12
Democrats to ten million dollars.
00:24:14
If you were just elected for the second time.
00:24:15
So yeah, yeah. The big challenge is of course,
00:24:24
in your state, as there are never safe talked.
00:24:26
A lot that a lot of them homelessness recovering from
00:24:29
natural disasters. The cost of living, there are
00:24:32
some critics. I'm sure you're aware from your
00:24:34
state who have said, how can the governor of our state go travel
00:24:37
on this red state tour and spend resources and time there.
00:24:40
So what do you say to those? It's on my dime not theirs and
00:24:43
the time is my time, this is time.
00:24:45
Respectfully, with my family, this is the beginning of Easter
00:24:50
spring break over the weekend. So he says Says it's on his
00:24:54
dime. But we know it's not on his
00:24:57
dime, it's on the campaign for democracy packs time.
00:25:02
Yes, they just said that two sentences prior.
00:25:06
Yeah, they just said, hey, you gave all this money from your
00:25:09
campaign to this pack and now you're campaigning with this
00:25:14
pack around the country and he's trying to say, well it's really
00:25:18
on my dime. Oh poor Gavin.
00:25:20
Newsom the man who bought his 4 million dollar house and all
00:25:24
cash. Yes, I'm sure it's really rough
00:25:27
for you to travel around the state with your children.
00:25:30
So he plays it off as like This, I'm sacrificing and I'm a martyr
00:25:34
because I'm it's on my own dime and that's how important it is
00:25:36
to me. But also, it's a family
00:25:40
vacation, so I get to spend time with my kids, so, which is it
00:25:45
Gavin, is it time for a family vacation or is it, you are doing
00:25:48
this as a martyr to go out there and spread the good word of
00:25:51
progressivism. Well, they did go to the Bahamas
00:25:55
right after this war States. Yeah.
00:25:58
After it was all over. They kind of made like the nice
00:26:00
swing so that they were in the South and then they just ended
00:26:02
up in the Bahamas. I don't think anyone gave them
00:26:05
the noticed that the Bahamas is not part of the red South, but
00:26:10
maybe he was going there anyway to see if we can campaign some
00:26:13
more I don't know, it's a great sacrifice of time.
00:26:19
A lot of people are taking time with their family after four
00:26:22
years. We haven't had that opportunity,
00:26:24
this was a privilege and a gift and selfish one for me as a
00:26:27
father. I feel like last four years,
00:26:29
I've been spent a lot of time with my kids because a covid
00:26:32
mall the stress and so I made that commitment What was your
00:26:38
kids respond? Okay, Dad.
00:26:40
Let's just suggest this. I think there's a new drone that
00:26:43
I had to provide their so extra soccer cards.
00:26:46
That is the yeah, family inducement.
00:26:49
I want to say something a little gentle bribery to get them to
00:26:51
get them on. It's very weird, never get
00:26:53
through this. But remember, he canceled his
00:26:55
Scotland trip to spend time with his kids.
00:26:58
Like, everyone was speculating over.
00:27:00
He has covid. But he canceled, that trip to
00:27:02
have like a 10-day, family vacation over Halloween with the
00:27:04
kids. Yes.
00:27:06
Was that after he had an adverse reaction because of the vaccine.
00:27:13
Allegedly, allegedly allegedly. That's right.
00:27:15
Well, that's what people were saying and then he was.
00:27:19
Yeah, but he was, he was like, no, the kids really wanted us
00:27:22
here for Halloween. And we had to make that, you
00:27:26
know, we had to choose between them and going and we chose to
00:27:29
stay for 10 days to have a vacation with our kids.
00:27:34
How Noble of him? What a sacrifice.
00:27:38
It's nice to be able to bribe your kids with thousand dollar
00:27:41
drones or whatever. Little gentle vibrate.
00:27:48
And, you know, I just finished 18 events in five days in
00:27:51
California. I've sacrificed my heart and
00:27:53
soul for my state. And I take a back seat to no one
00:27:56
on that. So, I get it.
00:27:57
But I also don't get what's going on in this country.
00:28:00
I don't get why everybody is not doing what we're doing, I don't
00:28:04
understand it. The people understand it's not
00:28:05
just about Marla go, it's not just he actually just asked why
00:28:09
he doesn't understand why the rest of the country isn't doing
00:28:11
what we're doing as in like what California is doing.
00:28:15
I think that's what he was saying, but I'm still stuck on
00:28:19
the I just a to 18 events in five days in California.
00:28:23
That's your job. Gavin.
00:28:26
Congratulations for learning. What work is your the state of
00:28:31
California elected to the second term?
00:28:34
And I'm only just figuring out. I'm supposed to do events in
00:28:37
California. Wait till he becomes president.
00:28:40
He's got a full schedule. He's like, oh, I did ten events
00:28:43
and seven days. I'll Vice sacrifice JoJo.
00:28:50
Never told me that you had to do these many events.
00:28:52
He never did this many events. In Washington DC or what's
00:28:57
happening in New York Court for the district attorney.
00:29:01
There's something deep and serious.
00:29:04
It's happening across this country.
00:29:06
All the progress. We're trying to get through this
00:29:08
as best as we can, but the fact that he's like, the fact that
00:29:12
he's like, well, it's not all about Mara Lago and Mar-A-Lago,
00:29:16
and DC, and what's happening in the Manhattan?
00:29:19
DA's a look at what network you're on.
00:29:22
You're on MSNBC, whose whole Whole obsession is take down
00:29:28
Trump at all costs. You are your ratings have been
00:29:33
in the toilet. Since Trump has not been in
00:29:35
office because you have nothing to talk about.
00:29:38
You're definitely going to talk about Joe Biden and now you're
00:29:40
like well why are we only talking about this stuff?
00:29:45
I don't know. You're sitting across from
00:29:47
someone who works for MSNBC. Why don't you ask them?
00:29:50
Why is that the only thing we talked about all the time is
00:29:53
what's going on in trouble because they're upset.
00:29:55
That's what trouble. He's implying, you should be on,
00:29:58
MSNBC more. Like why are you guys talking
00:30:00
about that? There's a little story right
00:30:02
here me? Yeah, I'm the story that should
00:30:07
be talking all about me. He's it sounds like he's a
00:30:11
little jealous. The last half century has been
00:30:16
rolled back in these states in real time just the last few
00:30:19
years. I don't think people fully
00:30:21
understand the rights regression individual liberties on civil
00:30:25
rights and voting rights and the gerrymandering that's happening
00:30:29
out here on just the assault on the African-American Community
00:30:32
assault on the gay lesbian bisexual and trans Community.
00:30:35
Re Mandarin really Gavin you want to talk about
00:30:38
gerrymandering California, had these independent commission's
00:30:42
after the census where They're supposed to draw up new
00:30:44
districts. The first draft of districts
00:30:48
were actually pretty fair. And actually, pretty fair to
00:30:52
Republicans in the state in terms of the legislature in
00:30:55
Congress and all that stuff, they're supposed to be
00:30:58
independent. But once Democrats got a hold of
00:31:03
those Maps, there's a little outside pressure for them to go
00:31:07
back to the drawing board. Quite literally go back to the
00:31:10
drawing board and make these districts more favorable to us.
00:31:14
So let's not talk about gerrymandering because
00:31:17
California might be one of the worst offenders when it comes to
00:31:21
pretending. Like they have these independent
00:31:23
commission's. But not really, because the
00:31:26
Democrats can then just push a lot of power on you and you'll
00:31:30
make Districts that you want to say.
00:31:32
So just want to make that quick little point about
00:31:35
gerrymandering. There's so many points here, I
00:31:37
mean we're seven minutes and of a 34 Minute overview will try to
00:31:42
get through as much as possible. The number one issue, the date
00:31:46
seems to be getting the reward Latin X in Arkansas.
00:31:50
Okay, okay, okay. As the husband of someone who is
00:31:59
a proud Latina Nothing makes her skin crawl more.
00:32:07
And make her want to throw chanclas around the room and X.
00:32:12
Okay. She hears that word and she
00:32:15
swears up a storm that nobody wants to be called Latin X every
00:32:21
time she hears that word. So the fact that he's like just
00:32:26
red states, don't want to say Latin X.
00:32:30
Yeah, Latinos don't want to say Latin X.
00:32:33
I think it was like three percent of Latinos, in America,
00:32:37
actually identify with the world.
00:32:41
It's very low to the point where Democrats are like, we should
00:32:44
probably back off this because it's not doing us any favors.
00:32:48
So, it's interesting. He has this righteous
00:32:52
indignation about red States. Not wanting to say Latin X
00:32:57
Latinos in you're very blue State.
00:32:59
Don't want to Latin X either. So maybe just take that off the
00:33:03
board. Goes, it's a serious moment in
00:33:11
American history and yet were so consumed respectfully by the
00:33:15
spectacles in Washington that I as an American feel compelled as
00:33:20
a governor to call that out and expose some of that in a more
00:33:24
systemic way and forgive me for being intense about this.
00:33:27
But everything I have taken for granted in my life, you know?
00:33:33
That's a century in terms of Rights expansion, not even bring
00:33:36
up all of that. All of that is in Peril at this
00:33:39
moment. In my kids, they need if I care
00:33:43
about my kids, I sure as hell better care about what's going
00:33:46
on in Alabama? What's going on in Mississippi
00:33:49
and Arkansas? And you know what?
00:33:51
I'm coming back a much better Governor, because I spent a long
00:33:54
weekend with my kids here, I do want to ask you about all of
00:33:56
that because I agree with you and there's things happening and
00:33:59
States. But why is it a concern?
00:34:04
The idea of states in America. Okay, the idea of why do we have
00:34:11
states? And why do we believe in
00:34:13
statehood and state power is the idea that States can be their
00:34:18
own little Laboratories of this experiment.
00:34:21
We call a constitutional republic.
00:34:25
And the idea is that the states can try out different policies
00:34:29
and people can vote with their feet on how these policies are
00:34:33
going if your kids stay in Bay area of California.
00:34:42
They should not have to give a rat's ass about what's happening
00:34:47
in Alabama because they're not going to be affected by what's
00:34:52
happening. Alabama, just don't go to
00:34:54
Alabama, like that's the bottom line and if you and if people
00:34:57
think what Alabama is doing is backwards or stupid people won't
00:35:02
stay in Alabama, they'll go somewhere else.
00:35:05
But this idea of like, well, I better care what's going on in
00:35:08
Alabama, because I got to protect my kid.
00:35:12
Kids, your kids are Silverspoon privilege little kids, who will
00:35:17
live in Northern California in the Bay Area, Marin County, or
00:35:21
wherever you want to live Napa Valley.
00:35:24
For the rest of their lives. They never have to worry about
00:35:26
anything. They will never have to ever
00:35:29
step foot in Alabama ever again and they will never be affected
00:35:32
by their policies. So this idea of like, I have to
00:35:36
go out and teach Alabama, lesson is like such a progressive
00:35:41
California way of thinking of like, it's my duty to go out and
00:35:46
spread the good word of California progressivism to
00:35:48
Alabama, because they don't know what's wrong, and I have to come
00:35:52
save it. So It's a, it's definitely a
00:35:56
California thing. Go ahead.
00:35:59
And I know we can't, like I always say this all the time,
00:36:03
but he's talking about, you know, this so Port.
00:36:07
What's going on in? Alabama, and go back to
00:36:09
California because it's really freaking important that while
00:36:12
you're in Alabama, were still our schools are still failing
00:36:17
and know your kids, don't go to those schools.
00:36:19
But most of the kids in California, do go to the
00:36:22
schools. Those schools are still failing,
00:36:24
there is people. There is homeless all over the
00:36:27
streets, who can't afford housing and Are causing
00:36:30
problems, not saying oh homes people cause problems.
00:36:33
But there's there's big problems there.
00:36:35
Those are the problems that are affecting your kids, and the
00:36:37
people that elected, you Governor go home, Gavin, and fix
00:36:42
the problems at home and stop worrying about the Rosa Parks
00:36:46
Museum. Yeah, I think that's the biggest
00:36:51
faux pas that he doesn't really see.
00:36:54
Not understand, although people who support him, love what he's
00:36:58
doing with this, but I think most people are kind of like, we
00:37:02
have enough problems here in California and we kind of joke
00:37:04
about at the beginning of the podcast that this tour made it
00:37:09
seem like up. That's it.
00:37:11
Newsom, solved, California. He fixed everything and now
00:37:14
everything's so perfect. He has all this time to
00:37:17
campaign. Around the country in the in
00:37:19
these red States and tell him what a great job I did when
00:37:24
California is still an absolute mess.
00:37:27
So, Let's keep going. Cracking down on people's
00:37:34
rights. We are sitting here in a
00:37:36
historic. Sadly, a historic moment in our
00:37:38
country where the former president of the United States
00:37:41
is being arraigned. Boy.
00:37:45
I wonder why we keep talking about what's going on tomorrow.
00:37:48
Log of, when Jen sake, ask a question about the former
00:37:53
president getting indicted Boys II can't understand.
00:37:56
Why are we so obsessed with Mar-A-Lago?
00:37:58
And what's going on in Manhattan?
00:38:02
When the the host of the or the interviewer here, just brings up
00:38:05
the question about Donald Trump. And waiting for there to be some
00:38:14
accountability here for the former president.
00:38:16
Do you are you one of them who's been waiting for that?
00:38:19
Yeah, I haven't read the indictment.
00:38:20
So sure. I'm for accountability, wherever
00:38:24
lay, I'm for responsibility. Regardless of status countywide
00:38:28
course, kind of got caught at the front longer.
00:38:30
French Laundry spending fifteen thousand dollars of your oil,
00:38:35
lobbyists buddies money when covid-19 locked down and
00:38:38
everything like that that sort of We just want to make sure
00:38:42
we're, we're all clear on that, idea of accountability.
00:38:46
Or going to Cabo and staying at the property of a Russian
00:38:52
oligarch when we're supposed to hate Russia.
00:38:56
That sort of accountability is that the accountability we're
00:38:58
talking about, I just want to make sure we're all on the same
00:39:00
page. Different.
00:39:06
Different accounts added by it. Well this thinking it's just
00:39:10
sad, it's sad. I mean, I'm not even making this
00:39:13
up before I come here to the Rosa Parks Museum in Alabama,
00:39:18
before I come here to visit with Bryan Stevenson Legacy Museum,
00:39:22
talking about lynching and slavery.
00:39:24
Which by the way, Kurt and my state, the state of California
00:39:28
labor into persist her California.
00:39:32
Just so we're all clear slavery did not occur.
00:39:42
And the assaults against the African-American community at
00:39:44
this moment, I've been told what a porn star was.
00:39:47
Okay on TV. That's a little depressing and
00:39:50
distressing. Yeah.
00:39:51
Well, I'm trying to get him to focus on the world.
00:39:53
He's living in which to me is so much more profound than what's
00:39:58
being pronounced on the national news right now, not that, not
00:40:01
that, that's not consequential profoundly.
00:40:03
So, in the context of our body, politic in the future, but I'm
00:40:09
just trying to find some balance between that At and what's
00:40:13
happening all across this country, the racial Injustice
00:40:17
that occurs every single day where there's no accountability
00:40:20
where people are rolling back people's rights or demeaning
00:40:24
poor people demeaning people because they love differently
00:40:26
demeaning and Bully folks with intellectual disabilities.
00:40:29
Like that guy, Ron descent is attacking and threatening.
00:40:32
The Special Olympics going after Free Speech.
00:40:35
Banning any books again? I mean, that's a serious thing
00:40:38
as well, and I guess I'm just trying to find a little bit of
00:40:40
balance in the Context of the current politics that are
00:40:44
shaping least our national debate on how things are
00:40:47
impacting people's lives, very much which those issues are
00:40:50
impacting people a lot more. Now, you mentioned Florida,
00:40:54
Governor Ron De Santos. I do often.
00:40:56
I know you. I am full.
00:40:57
I know you a little bit over the course of the last Foley,
00:41:01
obsessed with him. I cannot get enough of Ron
00:41:03
DeSantis. Couple of years, not a fan, he
00:41:08
has had some responses of late that have been hugely
00:41:11
problematic offensive dangerous. One of them was going after the
00:41:15
Manhattan district attorney. Echoing the language of former
00:41:19
President Donald Trump with that threatening language suggesting
00:41:22
Democrats are weaponizing, the judicial system, but you also
00:41:26
are very astute political guy, do you think that is know that
00:41:30
the Democrats aren't weaponizing the judicial system?
00:41:33
They only came out with an indictment that could not name.
00:41:36
Name a crime but somehow expanded on 34 counts of a crime
00:41:41
but you can't name what the underlying crime is.
00:41:44
And it's actually mostly just a misdemeanor in a slap on the
00:41:47
wrist, but they're trying to turn it into a felony that could
00:41:50
spend seven to ninety four years in prison to jail a political
00:41:56
opponent. Not the Democrats, definitely
00:41:57
are not trying to weaponize the Judiciary.
00:42:06
It's smart politics, right? He's in primary.
00:42:08
No, I thought he looked weak. He just looked weak, weakness.
00:42:12
Masquerade me a strength. I watched all the folks out
00:42:14
there. There's Roger Stone types.
00:42:16
All those Mega guys outraged and upset.
00:42:18
The dissenters was a little slow being critical when the threat
00:42:22
of indictment was first exposed by Trump himself and they said
00:42:27
here's what he should have said. And there he does.
00:42:29
Comes back a few days later and literally parrots it weakness
00:42:33
masquerading as As strength, you saw that where the new sheriff
00:42:37
in town is no longer run to sheriff.
00:42:39
It's Mickey Mouse M IC ke y, Mo, you as he did, he call him Ron,
00:42:45
the sheriff. Yeah, he's competing with truck
00:42:50
now for nicknames. Rhonda Sheriff.
00:42:54
That's the only problem. Okay.
00:42:57
Him and Mickey Mouse M IC ke. Why he spelled it.
00:43:02
Otherwise I wouldn't have known. Yeah, I'm glad he almost sang
00:43:06
us, the entire song. For all those people who don't
00:43:10
spell Mickey Mouse. Weakness masquerading, as
00:43:17
strength, all over on the census, triumphs are about
00:43:20
demeaning and bullying. Vulnerable like at this part
00:43:23
what he is doing this. Just to get a rise out of round.
00:43:26
Two Santa's. This is definitely him trying to
00:43:30
bait Ron DeSantis into responding to him because for so
00:43:35
long. Rhonda Santa's just doing like
00:43:37
they were starting with guns for yes.
00:43:41
Yeah. Like they're already trying to
00:43:42
start their like Shadow debates as presidents and he's already
00:43:47
trying to let go on the attack against Ronda Santa's.
00:43:50
I think he's trying to bait Ron DeSantis into responding to him.
00:43:55
He's got an obsession with Ron DeSantis.
00:43:57
It's very weird that he just continually goes after him and
00:44:01
Ron doesn't really take the bait on most of it.
00:44:07
All in common, weakness masquerading as strength.
00:44:12
So if you are not advising Governor DeSantis, I know that.
00:44:15
But what is his political path here?
00:44:18
Should he be running away from criticizing Trump?
00:44:22
Should he be speaking up for the rule of law?
00:44:25
He's got to get rolled by Trump. Trump's is going to roll them
00:44:31
thumped. I honestly if I were offering
00:44:32
political advice, I tell him to pack up and wait a few years and
00:44:37
actually do some of the hard work, which actually I'm sorry,
00:44:39
what a burning not just identity and cultural.
00:44:41
This is Rich coming from a man, who's on a two-week vacation
00:44:45
through the red states. He wants to tell people about
00:44:47
governing and then he takes a quick vacation to the Bahamas.
00:44:52
He wants to talk about. California is in Dire Straits
00:44:57
but he wants to tell Ron DeSantis, that may be his best.
00:44:59
Be his advice is she should get back to governing.
00:45:03
As far as I remember, I can't think of the last time like the
00:45:06
scientist has left Florida. So, why would you want to just
00:45:14
go? I didn't know I was just so
00:45:18
great. California in Alabama, actually
00:45:24
govern if I was given. And but how did this interview
00:45:28
of Gavin's gonna like free? The red States.
00:45:30
Turn into Political advice for DeSantis.
00:45:36
I don't know. They just, I guess they're
00:45:39
trying to They're trying to drum up this.
00:45:43
Rhonda Santa's versus Gavin Newsom, and they're going to try
00:45:47
as hard as possible to turn this into.
00:45:50
It's funny that the, to these two are trying to, they're
00:45:53
trying to push these two to be presidential candidates when
00:45:56
there's already President Joe Biden, and former President,
00:46:00
Donald Trump are the two probably top contenders, right
00:46:03
now, they've just ignored those two in there.
00:46:05
Like now, we want to talk about Rhonda Sanchez and Gavin.
00:46:07
Newsom, it would make for really good TV, that's for sure.
00:46:11
Probably why they're pushing this idea of Newsom versus to
00:46:14
Santa's. Dr. Addressing these issues and
00:46:24
particularly cost a housing. These are very familiar.
00:46:27
I'm very honest housing. All, definitely be humbled by
00:46:30
the cost of housing. Understand the systemic problem
00:46:38
trouble, I'm the first to acknowledge I'm I'm My Own Worst
00:46:40
critic. I'd be working on some of those
00:46:42
basic things and expand Medicaid that the backs of folks out
00:46:46
there that need preventive care. I'd be focusing on the QT of the
00:46:49
environment Mother Nature, she bats last bats a thousand I know
00:46:53
that from being in Little Rock and wind down in Arkansas
00:46:57
rolling. I mean this is serious moment in
00:47:00
American history world history. I hope he would start to focus
00:47:03
on some of those issues that would be my advice. come back as
00:47:06
a more seasoned, and capable leader with a little humility,
00:47:12
which by the rectory, if I'm wrong, a little of who won their
00:47:16
election by a larger margin in their state, Was it was it Gavin
00:47:24
Newsom. Did he win his?
00:47:25
I get it go with I didn't go with the sheriff.
00:47:31
The Sharanda Sheriff, I believe won by a much larger margin than
00:47:34
Gavin Newsom did in his statement that must really burn,
00:47:39
Gavin Newsom that to Santos won in.
00:47:42
What is technically? It's not really a swing state
00:47:44
anymore. It's like bright red, one by so
00:47:47
much. And I think the stat was that
00:47:52
the gap between him. And Brian dolly was the smallest
00:47:55
gap between a Republican and Democrat since like and like the
00:48:00
past 10 years or something. So like it was actually the
00:48:02
smallest Gap that he won by this time.
00:48:06
Yeah, yeah, so that must be depressing for old noodles.
00:48:10
Yes. So, you have talks a lot about
00:48:18
your ability to work with Donald Trump and frankly, having worked
00:48:20
in the White House. I know when you're a governor,
00:48:22
you have to work with the president.
00:48:23
So a lots happened though, over the last couple of years, if
00:48:26
he's re-elected and I know you're going to say he won't be
00:48:29
and President. Biden will be done but just
00:48:31
let's just say if he's re-elected, will you still be
00:48:34
able to work with him? If it advances the cause of
00:48:38
helping me govern, the largest and most diverse state in
00:48:42
America? It's the size of 21 State,
00:48:44
populations come I don't like talking past people down.
00:48:51
I'm the people because they disagree with me.
00:48:52
I spend a disproportionate amount of time with the people
00:48:55
that try to recall me. We all want to be respected,
00:48:59
protected, connected. We all want to love.
00:49:01
We all need to be loved. We have so many foundational
00:49:03
values. So I say divorce is not an
00:49:06
option as The Clinton Library. Yesterday, I remember Clinton
00:49:09
talking, often. About fact, we should celebrate,
00:49:12
all our interesting differences and Democrats.
00:49:15
I think should listen to. This doesn't end there
00:49:18
celebrate. All are interesting differences,
00:49:19
comma And unite around the things that bind us together or
00:49:23
something Universal things about being human.
00:49:27
That I also think are important. And so I say this in the context
00:49:31
of the frame around Trumper all these folks, I mean I feel like
00:49:35
I'm pushing back. Yeah.
00:49:36
As I am sick of people, his rights being trampled on and I'm
00:49:39
going to push back but I'm not looking to go after these guys
00:49:43
for them looking to pick up a crowbar.
00:49:45
Put in the spokes of the wheel every single day but if they do
00:49:47
that to folks that I care about and things I value, and That I
00:49:51
feel like, you know, being too mean.
00:49:53
Yeah, I'm going to push back so open hand not a closed fist if
00:49:57
he's back but he won't be half as you were right here with that
00:49:59
answer. Just meant he's not going to
00:50:04
talk tough but he's also going to talk tough but he's also not
00:50:07
going to put a crowbar in the spokes of your bicycle but he's
00:50:11
also going to push back on you. I'm not really quite sure is.
00:50:15
Is he going to push back? Is he going to be tough with
00:50:17
President Trump? Or is he going to work with
00:50:19
President Trump? Leaf in advance.
00:50:27
Those were some of my favorite pictures when he had to come out
00:50:30
and like survey the forest fires, President Trump.
00:50:34
And then you see him and Gavin Newsom like walking through the
00:50:36
forest together, like this does just looks unnatural and he
00:50:40
actually has to like Be, he has to be kind of courteous to
00:50:46
President Trump. He can't just be sitting there
00:50:48
slinging insult. Like, he does from his Twitter
00:50:51
handle. That was always funny to see
00:50:54
him. Be humbled that like he needed
00:50:55
President Trump to come out and help.
00:51:00
That the question as you said it up.
00:51:02
Well, I wanted to give you an out there take away, something.
00:51:04
You might say, I've been through this before so I didn't will be
00:51:07
re-elected. You are an advisor, deservedly,
00:51:11
so Noah masterclass. There's just simply, you cannot
00:51:15
in modern times, I say this respected Peril.
00:51:18
Well, if some previous Democrats may be being a little insulted
00:51:25
by this, his legislative accomplishments, there's just
00:51:28
nothing that comes close to me. All across this country which is
00:51:33
another reason I already know who serves it but I will be
00:51:36
enthusiastically out there campaigning for know.
00:51:39
You pride yourself on going on the offense on a range of
00:51:42
issues. I mean here you are.
00:51:44
Do you look at Republicans have not critique Donald Trump,
00:51:48
obviously because of his legal, woes Democrats have also been
00:51:50
quiet for different reasons. Do you think democrats should be
00:51:54
going more on offense about some of the legal woes that Trump
00:51:58
has? I just I am I feel like that's a
00:52:01
lane that's got a traffic jam worse than the 45 for all the
00:52:04
either, who don't know that California joke because I'm the
00:52:09
governor of California. How do you mean?
00:52:15
I just I mean like everybody's the I think they are.
00:52:18
We are the media is makes 24/7 wall-to-wall.
00:52:22
It's wall-to-wall 24/7 and I think this is just an
00:52:25
Off-Broadway production in Manhattan.
00:52:28
The main show is what's coming next.
00:52:30
These other diceman that seems very real.
00:52:33
Do you think it would be easier if it was or more palatable from
00:52:36
a message perspective? If it was we're talking about
00:52:38
Indian January 6th and his role of course, going to be.
00:52:42
I love I was watching. As people would ask that
00:52:45
question. Well, it is, what is it forward
00:52:47
a little bit? See if I can get to some of the
00:52:49
other person stuff because I just kind of rambling or some
00:52:52
poetic. Yeah.
00:52:56
Are the people here. Scare the pollen Florida yeah
00:52:59
that overwhelmingly oppose that position?
00:53:00
Okay, majority of NRA members, you know, probably oppose that
00:53:05
position do background checks Novak Novak right.
00:53:09
None really? I mean no traffic.
00:53:13
No training. Why would we do that?
00:53:14
We got, which is what permit must carry me to Progressive
00:53:20
dingbats who don't know nothing about Firearms.
00:53:23
Talking about Firearms, first off permanently, scary does not
00:53:27
mean. You can walk around with a
00:53:30
weapon of War as they like to call it like an AR-15.
00:53:33
Usually, what that means is you are allowed to buy a gun which
00:53:37
you still have to go through. Background check this still part
00:53:39
of the federal background. Check once you purchase that
00:53:42
gone permanently scary is also called constitutional carry,
00:53:46
which means you don't have to go through a process like you do
00:53:50
here in California where you get a little license.
00:53:54
Little card that says you are authorized to carry a firearm on
00:53:58
you permit. Liz Carey basically means, the
00:54:00
Constitution says you have a right to bear arms, guess what?
00:54:03
You can buy your gun legally with a background check.
00:54:08
And you can carry that gun legally and you don't need a
00:54:12
license from the state because the Constitution already says
00:54:15
you have that, right? So there's no reason to.
00:54:17
So the fact that they're talking across each other, he's talking
00:54:20
about weapons of war and no background checks and she's like
00:54:23
and that's what permit Le scary is.
00:54:25
Is I, basically, you can walk around with, with no background
00:54:28
check and you can just carry around an AR-15 or weapon of War
00:54:32
as they like to call it because it's a big scary Black Gun.
00:54:37
Who. I love hearing Gavin.
00:54:40
Newsom talk about California, Democrats talking about guns is
00:54:43
one of the funniest things because it might as well be like
00:54:46
me talking about, like microbiology, which I know
00:54:48
nothing about. Stream, that's what's happened?
00:54:53
Of course, not surprised. A guy doesn't believe that a
00:54:56
young girl should have the freedom to do determine our own
00:55:02
reproductive future. It has to Bear the child of a
00:55:05
rapist in the name of freedom, without the exception of rape
00:55:09
and incest. I mean, that's what we're
00:55:11
getting from these folks. So look, it sickens.
00:55:13
Me and my cord, I'll tell you and you would have more insight
00:55:17
than anybody so you can validate.
00:55:21
What I've been in Tennessee triggered this trip.
00:55:25
Just called the White House. Full disclosure.
00:55:29
I can't. I was given speech.
00:55:37
Monterey and Salinas. I gave it prior down, and
00:55:40
Gilroy. And when I was mayor, we see the
00:55:43
dance Walden. I mean, I can't, I just can't
00:55:47
take it. I can't take it.
00:55:49
And then to see the same Governor's need to talk about
00:55:52
mental health, you know, unique apparently America to talk
00:55:55
about, you know, our parents, our family.
00:55:57
I mean, all the beat us and then they claim to care about life.
00:56:01
When the number one, cause of death for our children is guns.
00:56:06
Shaver. Their shame but you know guns to
00:56:09
core into Democrats. Let's not talk about obesity
00:56:12
level. I think I tweeted about this
00:56:16
last week, how it's incredible that Democrats have somehow and
00:56:23
I applaud them for their clever and cunning They somehow took
00:56:28
the shooting of children at a Christian School by someone, who
00:56:33
identifies as trans and turned it into their own talking point.
00:56:40
I have to give him credit like Republicans, can't do that.
00:56:43
Like Republicans can't take a story and turn it into a
00:56:45
national story that benefits them.
00:56:48
But the fact that Gavin Newsom is like, is the shooting in
00:56:52
Tennessee, is what prompted this trip.
00:56:56
So the shooting done, by someone who identifies, as trans of
00:56:59
Christian children, that's what prompted you to go on this trip.
00:57:03
You were so distraught over, Christian children being killed
00:57:06
by a trans individual. Is that what prompted, this trip
00:57:08
Gavin or did, are you using this as a another argument for more
00:57:13
gun control more gun reform? It's impressive how they flip
00:57:20
this around, but no one ever wants to talk about that.
00:57:23
They don't even talk about the shooter anymore.
00:57:26
They don't. Talk about what our hail or
00:57:28
whatever. They don't want to release the
00:57:29
manifesto because God forbid, we don't want to see what's in the
00:57:32
manifesto. But they've turned it into their
00:57:36
own talking point. So kudos to them.
00:57:40
Also, it had this happen to California and the shooter lived
00:57:45
Newsome would be fighting for the release of that person from
00:57:48
prison in a matter of years. Well, if they were trans.
00:57:53
Yeah, well, if he's not really like people to be in prison in
00:57:57
California, I mean even those with the worst of the worst
00:58:01
crimes, he's like and they served their time.
00:58:03
Let's let him go back into society now.
00:58:05
Yeah. Yeah.
00:58:07
He would, definitely not be trying to keep them behind bars
00:58:11
and if they were trans he probably give him a pardon.
00:58:15
Yeah. But it is amazing to me that
00:58:18
they've turned this whole Tennessee shooting.
00:58:20
Going into their talking point. So, Painful.
00:58:32
And it should shock our souls, but it's becoming so normal.
00:58:36
It's a matter of hours now, not even days.
00:58:39
I mean, I thought we would never, I'm buff.
00:58:41
Hello. I had to read the manifesto.
00:58:44
I read the manifesto from the shooter and buffalo.
00:58:48
I see you read the shooter from the you read the manifesto from
00:58:51
the shooter in Buffalo. So why can't we see the
00:58:55
manifesto from the shooter in Tennessee?
00:59:00
Hmm. Is it because it might be
00:59:03
damaging to your stance on the trans Community?
00:59:08
Maybe Still have chills thinking about that Manifesto to
00:59:13
understand this. This is serious, the manifesto
00:59:17
allegedly for the shooter in Tennessee, all connected.
00:59:21
This broader contagion, they don't care about our kids
00:59:24
because if they did they'd ban these damn weapons of war, they
00:59:27
would have background checks. They require some common damn
00:59:30
sense. They don't.
00:59:31
So, you know what those kids that were there in the capital?
00:59:34
God bless every single one of them.
00:59:36
In the spirit of Rosa Parks in the spirit of the greats.
00:59:40
Plato, if there's any hope for the future, those with lanterns
00:59:43
will pass them on to others, that should give you optimism
00:59:46
about our nation because that's still alive.
00:59:49
And we have to continue to believe that and not give up for
00:59:54
those who are wondering, if you're in a capital unlawfully
00:59:59
and you're trespassing, and you're protesting gun control,
01:00:03
or you want more gun control, that is Noble and fantastic and
01:00:08
should be applauded as the next coming of Martin Luther King, if
01:00:12
you were invited in by Capitol Police and you walk calmly
01:00:18
through velvet ropes and you don't break anything.
01:00:22
That's an Insurrection to take over our country just so we're
01:00:25
all clear. I just want to make sure that
01:00:27
sooner I just want, well, I want to make sure we're all clear,
01:00:31
you know, theirs. There are you have to be able to
01:00:36
tell your insurrections from from the non insurrections?
01:00:40
Yeah for sure that was not an Insurrection feel like we should
01:00:44
have shirts. Not you and I but like it's like
01:00:49
I this is an instruction, this is not you know like we really
01:00:53
need shirts to differentiate. Yeah maybe Billboards Billboards
01:00:58
might help so people can get educated like paid for Paperwork
01:01:03
State of California and campaign for democracy.
01:01:07
Now, you know, these statistics better than anyone to, I mean,
01:01:10
what I can never wrap my head around is the fact that
01:01:14
policies, like Universal background checks are supported
01:01:16
by the vast majority of the country red flag, laws supported
01:01:20
by the vast majority of the country, not even a there.
01:01:23
Most certainly not red flag laws, once people know what they
01:01:27
are. Most certainly not supported by
01:01:30
a vast majority that is ridiculous.
01:01:33
And the whole idea of universal background checks is Didn't
01:01:37
because anyone who buys a firearm still has to go through
01:01:40
a federal background check. So, They keep throwing Universal
01:01:44
background, check around, which is, I guess they're their next
01:01:48
step towards a. I mean, we're already once you
01:01:51
buy a gun, it's already registered with all these
01:01:53
states. So they just want a federal
01:01:55
registration of who has all the guns.
01:01:57
So, Yeah. This latest report by the
01:02:07
majority of the path skies are wholly owned subsidiary, is
01:02:11
special enough money. Yeah, money.
01:02:14
And raising power threats threats.
01:02:16
Threat of money being used. It's not just always what you
01:02:18
see. It's the things that are behind
01:02:19
the scenes that are more impactful the threat of going.
01:02:22
After the also side note, what was the length?
01:02:25
I have yet to meet a gun owner or someone who was pro-second
01:02:30
Amendment, who is an NRA member. So I feel like most people who
01:02:36
are pro-second Amendment actually don't like the NRA
01:02:39
because they, they concede on a lot of things.
01:02:43
So this they always create this Boogeyman of like, oh, the NRA
01:02:46
is out there and that they're pushing all this gun pro-gun
01:02:50
stuff. I don't know, I don't think a
01:02:54
lot of Second Amendment. People actually support their
01:02:56
inara but they got to keep the boogeyman going.
01:03:01
The lynching about out here wasn't just about the direct
01:03:04
assault on an individual and their family was about sending a
01:03:09
message to the rest of the community about power and
01:03:11
control dominance. And aggression, boy, those are
01:03:14
things you're hearing from these Republican Governors power
01:03:17
dominance and aggression. Where's the empathy care
01:03:20
collaboration partnership doesn't exist doesn't persist
01:03:23
right now and that's the core of this.
01:03:25
And, you know, representative democracy, it's rather damn,
01:03:29
galling way. These things are All these
01:03:32
things are connected and that sucks.
01:03:34
Hierarchical structure. By the way you really start to
01:03:37
appreciate, that's not some new kind gestures are on point here
01:03:40
in the South. You start to understand the
01:03:43
systemic sides of the sorry, Rhonda centers.
01:03:47
You know, 8p African-American studies some indoctrination
01:03:51
really want to go back to my point about he's talking about
01:03:55
Alabama and how there were lynchings of African Americans
01:03:59
at the time. Also this is an excellent freeze
01:04:02
frame that I paused it on. Good good face by Gavin.
01:04:06
Newsom here. Hey Gavin, do you know what
01:04:11
protected African Americans during Reconstruction Era?
01:04:16
When there were right, white races, who wanted to Lynch them
01:04:20
and kill them and harm their families.
01:04:23
What do you think protected? Those African Americans from
01:04:28
that happening? What do you think happened?
01:04:32
Oh God. I'll take guns for 500 fellow.
01:04:38
That would be correct. In fact, there was efforts by
01:04:42
those in the north to try and get more Firearms to freed
01:04:46
slaves in the South because they knew that they needed to protect
01:04:51
themselves. And in fact, if you read the
01:04:53
Bruin decision, which came out last year, which was a huge,
01:04:57
Second Amendment case, just as Thomas went into this whole
01:05:00
history about how integral it was.
01:05:04
That freed African American slaves had to or had to we can
01:05:08
actually carry firearms on themselves to protect themselves
01:05:12
in the Reconstructionist South. So it's part of our history.
01:05:16
When he talks about, you know, these lynchings happened here in
01:05:20
the South and how horrible was it?
01:05:23
But you know what? Helped protect During those
01:05:27
times was the right to protect yourself with Firearms.
01:05:31
So the thing he's demonizing is the thing that saved a lot of
01:05:36
those people back then and that's if we want to know about
01:05:40
history and then I'm rewriting history, they're doing a good
01:05:44
job of rewriting history that the Second Amendment didn't
01:05:46
matter. In that Firearms were not
01:05:49
helpful to any freed African American slaves During the
01:05:52
Reconstruction South About the kids that are compelled in
01:05:59
Germany to understand the Holocaust.
01:06:01
Never again, what do we have comparable in our own country?
01:06:06
To start to understand how? All of this is connected?
01:06:10
The poll tests how many seeds in a watermelon?
01:06:13
Can't answer it, can't vote. And how many how many people
01:06:16
even know that does that make my kid feel uncomfortable learning
01:06:21
that Is that some, I mean, this is a serious moment and I think
01:06:26
you're right to call out the absurdity that disconnect
01:06:30
between what the public is and these red State politicians that
01:06:33
continue to deny that voice and a rational approach to dealing
01:06:39
with this only in America Merc endemic or epidemic.
01:06:46
Now you touched on this, there's a cultural issue right with guns
01:06:49
in the fear that Democrats like you valid reason to take away
01:06:54
people's guns, there's also an argument that even some
01:06:57
Democrats make about an assault weapons ban that the Second
01:07:00
Amendment the Constitution gives you the right to have an assault
01:07:07
weapon. It does.
01:07:08
It's right there. It's something Amendment for
01:07:10
that first. It was difficult.
01:07:12
The well, Ray big lie apart. The right to bear an AR-15
01:07:17
platform right there in the Constitution.
01:07:19
I that breeding the constant. Well, that was the one that was
01:07:22
sent to me by the ushers in the right.
01:07:24
I get all that, by the way, I went out.
01:07:26
So I thought this would be interesting when out with a guy
01:07:32
- you want to skip over the well-regulated militia.
01:07:38
And get right to the right to bear arms.
01:07:43
Is he trying to hide the ball on there or something?
01:07:47
He really doesn't know what it is, like the way that you're
01:07:51
talking about, it it seemed to me like he was like, I don't
01:07:54
even know what they're talking about, so I can't talk about
01:07:56
this. Yeah, I think he he didn't want
01:08:00
to get into the Weeds on what that first Clause of the second
01:08:04
amendment was a well-regulated militia.
01:08:07
He doesn't want to get into that.
01:08:10
Yeah. His little joke about how, you
01:08:13
know, the Constitution that the RNC sent me different than the
01:08:16
real Constitution. You just quoted the same.
01:08:19
Yeah, Second Amendment. So I guess the one RNC sent you
01:08:22
was the same exact Constitution. Decided to shoot 23 platforms,
01:08:30
have guns, but I started with an Old Musket, I'm still stuffing
01:08:34
in the thigh and I shot. I missed the Target by the I
01:08:38
ended with Gatling guns. And AR and just 30 rounds.
01:08:43
This is insane ready to go from that founding fathers, construct
01:08:49
that this to have judge Nelson. Federal judge in the state of
01:08:53
California. A, the AR-15 platform to Swiss
01:08:56
Army knife Go ahead to have to list.
01:09:03
Okay. Yeah, the musket the musket and
01:09:09
how we can't even get it, anywhere near the target then he
01:09:13
goes on and then you know I'm up to the are 15 30 rounds he makes
01:09:17
it sound like it could hold 30 rounds.
01:09:22
They can't not in California. Yeah, it's a legal, right?
01:09:27
What's wrong? Round and round smacks?
01:09:30
Yep, but also the musket, when he's like, he can't shoot it
01:09:35
straight, isn't that? Because that's a really old gun
01:09:39
and a we have since modernized guns to be more accurate, which
01:09:43
is safer if it's more accurate and then.
01:09:47
So we just kind of skipped over the fact that like this must
01:09:50
get, you could think you're pointing at here and it's just
01:09:52
You know, going off, who knows where.
01:09:54
And then they, he's like an AR-15 30 rounds, okay?
01:09:58
He could have shot their day around.
01:09:59
Certainly if he reloaded twice, but he didn't sit there and just
01:10:04
shoot off 30 rounds in 30 seconds.
01:10:08
Right? So he sort of proved his point
01:10:12
that the AR-15 is safer than the musket.
01:10:17
Yeah, I mean, that's the whole argument that I have about this
01:10:21
whole handgun, roster, that California has, which is that,
01:10:25
oh, you have to have all these things on it and you can't be on
01:10:28
the handgun. Roster, unless you have all
01:10:30
these like crazy things that like most handguns, don't have
01:10:34
that, they pay, they purposely make it really hard to be on the
01:10:37
handgun. Roster.
01:10:38
They're like you know your handgun has to throw up a red
01:10:43
flag after it's done with all its rounds and people will be
01:10:48
like that doesn't exist well then you can't be on our handgun
01:10:50
roster and the ironic thing is that they say Well it has to
01:10:55
have all these features so it's safer. but a lot of handguns, I
01:10:59
think we talked about this with us although he when he was on
01:11:01
one time of trigger ology where you have a lot of handguns that
01:11:07
are two or three generations old and handguns have gotten every
01:11:13
generation, they get safer, they get more accurate, but
01:11:17
California is holding back that safety for its citizens, but to
01:11:21
your point, you're right in the AR is, Safer because as opposed
01:11:27
to a musket that you can just fire and it just goes anywhere
01:11:31
and there's a whole different thing about physics and why the
01:11:34
rifle is better than a musket. But yeah, it's in his whole idea
01:11:39
of 30 rounds. You can't fire, 30 rounds in
01:11:42
California. So, maybe with law enforcement,
01:11:47
you can because they don't really abide by the same citizen
01:11:51
rules we do. But by Don't fire. 30 rounds,
01:11:57
right away, right? I'd have to lick.
01:11:59
You said, I have to reload and that's another thing.
01:12:03
They want to work on as they don't want you to have the quick
01:12:06
detach magazines. So you can't quick reload.
01:12:09
That's another thing they want to do but that's for another day
01:12:15
and the fact that he says like this is insanity, this is like
01:12:18
one of the dumbest arguments Democrats and progressives make
01:12:24
about And it is quite literally. It's so asinine to me that they
01:12:32
continue to make this argument people continue to believe it
01:12:35
where they go will the founders, when they wrote the Second
01:12:38
Amendment, it was only for like my skids and like, if you want,
01:12:44
then it should just protect muskets.
01:12:46
It's like no, there are plenty other Firearms.
01:12:51
There were rifles. There were thought there were
01:12:55
guns that shot multiple rounds. This was not new to the
01:13:00
founders. These ideas of rifles guns, that
01:13:03
show shot multiple rounds, pistols.
01:13:06
All that stuff. You can basically Trace all of
01:13:09
these guns that we have today. Back to those guns.
01:13:13
Sure. They're faster.
01:13:14
They're better that's technology.
01:13:16
But yeah, the same argument and you can always make the same
01:13:21
easy argument, which is, well if that's the case, then guess
01:13:24
what? The First Amendment doesn't
01:13:25
apply to the internet doesn't apply to phone companies, do The
01:13:28
TV doesn't apply to the radio. It doesn't apply to like that
01:13:31
stuff wasn't around when the founders were around.
01:13:34
Now, all of a sudden. Now, all of a sudden it's like
01:13:37
they hate originalist judges and textualist judges on the Supreme
01:13:42
Court. But when it comes to the Second
01:13:44
Amendment, all of a sudden progress has become the biggest
01:13:48
original, this in the world and say well, that wasn't the
01:13:51
original intent and that you should only be able to have
01:13:53
muskets. So but it's a, you know, this is
01:13:59
MSNBC, so he's playing to the crowd who's going to lap it up
01:14:02
and be like, yeah, absolutely. Of course, I'll watch a couple
01:14:05
more minutes and then we got to wrap it up because it's already
01:14:09
been an hour and 15 minutes. They can't even identify these
01:14:15
young kids except by their sneakers and their DNA. because
01:14:22
their heads are blown off the up there, defending that I'm all
01:14:28
for the right center at and come down.
01:14:31
Well, they're wrong. And with all due respect, I
01:14:36
humble man, that's my position and he gets the vast majority of
01:14:39
American public position. Weapons of war, proprietary
01:14:42
should be in the hands of those that are trained.
01:14:45
And those that are protecting our liberties and freedom more
01:14:49
Polly an individual. Try to say this as calmly as
01:14:55
possible. An AR-15 is not a weapon of war
01:15:04
and is not what the military uses.
01:15:08
Thank you. That was a very calm.
01:15:12
That was about as calm as I was going to get.
01:15:15
As that was me calming down and saying that, I've just I've
01:15:19
check out our notes real quick to see if there's anything, we
01:15:21
should see up to on here. Go ahead.
01:15:25
Sorry. Did we miss the abortion part?
01:15:27
I don't know if we miss the abortion part.
01:15:28
I'm not sure that's why because I think I was making notes in
01:15:32
chronological order. So I'm just checking Just.
01:15:37
Yeah, go ahead opposition. The feeling nervous.
01:15:41
When I get my kids, a kiss. Goodbye in the morning when
01:15:44
they're sent off to school. What the hell will happen next?
01:15:46
Or the fact they come back and they talk to me about their
01:15:49
drills where they're hiding under their desks.
01:15:51
Like, I hid under mine during Soviet Cold War.
01:15:55
It's insane. Like, you know what he could do?
01:15:59
If he doesn't want that to happen to his kids.
01:16:02
He could homeschool them. He could certainly afford to
01:16:08
homeschool his kids. Right.
01:16:13
We don't like that in the state of California, because that
01:16:16
would be giving parents way too much authority over their own
01:16:20
children, and they're not trained to teach their children.
01:16:24
And then we're going to have a whole lot of Republicans in
01:16:27
doctor nating their children with some really extremist
01:16:30
ideas. So I wouldn't recommend that you
01:16:33
mentioned that again. Okay, taboo against the terms of
01:16:39
service. Community guidelines violation
01:16:44
for doing the same thing since Roe was overturned.
01:16:47
I mean, in long before that, but you've been a very local
01:16:49
advocate for abortion rates and access and a number of States.
01:16:52
Since then, this is where people may not be paying attention.
01:16:55
Have put in place additional restrictions mean, Idaho, is in
01:16:58
the process of trying to ban Interstate travel for women
01:17:01
seeking an abortion and to also hurt doctors, you know, to to
01:17:06
have a doctors would also be penalized.
01:17:09
And to me, this is just a commentary on June.
01:17:12
That she's gotten this far in her career.
01:17:17
To be one, she was the press secretary for the president of
01:17:21
the United States. And two, she now has a lucrative
01:17:26
gig on MSNBC. One of the major networks
01:17:29
interviewing the governor of California whoever else she
01:17:31
wants. She cannot formulate a coherent
01:17:36
question. She is all over the place.
01:17:41
Bouncing from thing to thing, to thing, to thing to thing.
01:17:44
And something you listen to her questions, she was like, what
01:17:47
are you youichi interjects point?
01:17:49
She ended up this to she and her checks facts that aren't true,
01:17:55
most of its opinion. It's not a real question.
01:17:58
So I just want to make that little commentary before we get
01:18:02
into this place. I see topic.
01:18:03
All right. In Florida, they are in the
01:18:07
process of passing. A six-week ban for abortion
01:18:12
access. So what do you what do you say
01:18:15
to the women in these states and Idaho and Florida and other
01:18:18
states? Where additional restrictions
01:18:56
Being in that space where or see a DOT abortion?
01:19:00
Dot-gov ago, we put out a website with all of toolkit we
01:19:05
started doing. Can't do it and how we can
01:19:07
provide a true star and see a dotted portion dot-gov?
01:19:13
Yeah, yeah. Well, we're gonna get a little
01:19:17
started because this is we have to talk about this topic.
01:19:20
We're good. All right, starting that.
01:19:22
Now you got the Miffy decision. Let's hear a Ramble On for a
01:19:25
little shopping another. Again, it's these federal judges
01:19:29
which is a key component of the abortion pill, which more than
01:19:32
50 percent of women in this country rely on to get an
01:19:36
abortion nationalization of Rights, the expansion of Rights.
01:19:40
That's happened. Over the last 50 years.
01:19:42
This is the rights regression and it's not just happening.
01:19:45
But he at Red states only and that decision will begin to
01:19:50
nationalize what impact of these red State actions.
01:19:55
Now, will be felt across this country because they're
01:19:57
weaponizing, not just at a local jurisdictional level.
01:20:01
They're starting to weaponize the course, and that's exactly
01:20:04
what we're trying to remind Peril of.
01:20:06
And look, this is an interesting I want to say this really
01:20:10
quickly because the, the left likes to make it seem like
01:20:15
worsens just a Slam dunk issue. It's just something that like of
01:20:21
course, like 99% of Americans, think abortion should be legal
01:20:25
and like freely available. Abortion in this country has
01:20:29
never been a overwhelmingly popular topic with support.
01:20:38
Even before Roe was passed at the Supreme Court level.
01:20:44
Most the majority of States had strict restrictions on
01:20:47
abortions, which were voted on by state legislatures, which
01:20:51
were voted on by the people. So it was never this like really
01:20:56
popular thing when bro came out. Yeah, it became more popular
01:21:01
because row then for states to deal with it because there was
01:21:04
Roe v-- Wade and you can pass things that went against Roe v--
01:21:08
Wade but it was never the overwhelmingly super popular
01:21:13
slam dunk. Like, you know, like well if you
01:21:19
took a poll of Americans and said how many people like
01:21:21
puppies, they'd be like, well over Overwhelmingly amount of
01:21:24
people love puppies. The same thing about abortion is
01:21:29
it's not the overwhelmingly popular support they make it
01:21:33
seem that way and that you'd be stupid not to agree.
01:21:36
And now the fact that row v Wade has been struck down.
01:21:40
Now you're seeing the state's go back to the ability to restrict
01:21:44
abortion as they were prior to Roe v-- Wade because it was
01:21:47
never that popular to begin with in these red States.
01:21:50
So I just want to say that Gavin likes to pretend and that
01:21:53
everybody loves abortion and that they're going against the
01:21:56
grain. When in reality, they may not be
01:21:58
going against the grain. They may just be going with the
01:22:01
other half that you don't agree with.
01:22:04
So you want it to go off about California?
01:22:08
See a DOT abortion, dot-gov, I think we've talked about it
01:22:12
before on here but one that is a taxpayer, California taxpayer
01:22:18
funded website but on the website they actually have, they
01:22:22
do have if you want to you're trying to find a place like a
01:22:25
safe place to have an abortion. They have resources on there but
01:22:28
they actually have on there for you to report crisis.
01:22:31
Pregnancy centers, Because they are Miss information.
01:22:36
The state of California tax. Funders you me our funding.
01:22:43
people, its ability to report, a Crisis, Pregnancy Center, I, I
01:22:52
just I don't get it, I don't get it at all.
01:23:00
It's almost like there could be an argument to be made if your
01:23:05
tax dollars are going to fund the support of abortion and the
01:23:10
education of abortion which is against your could be against
01:23:14
your religious freedom and your religious rights that you don't
01:23:17
want to support it. But California thinks that this
01:23:25
is the number one issue. We all we got to throw all the
01:23:27
money at it and you know and typical California way.
01:23:31
They just don't seem to understand why don't why doesn't
01:23:34
everyone else agree with us? In that you should have
01:23:36
unfettered access to abortion and will use taxpayer money to
01:23:40
fly you from Alabama or Idaho, to California, get an abortion
01:23:46
and is there something really eerie about like when he was
01:23:49
celebrating? That they secured?
01:23:51
Two million doses of this drug. Yeah, yeah, Mike.
01:23:57
So you've just admitted that you have secured, the means to and
01:24:03
two million lives like boy, Hitler, and Pol Pot would be
01:24:09
super proud of the fact that you're at that excited about
01:24:11
killing or ending 2 million lives.
01:24:14
So, it's just a really, it's just really weird.
01:24:19
All right, well, we're almost up on it an hour.
01:24:21
And a half and we could keep going.
01:24:23
But I don't know. The rambles on about some other
01:24:26
things you want to really finish it off.
01:24:28
We made through, we made it through 27 minutes, which is
01:24:30
pretty good. So, final thoughts, not
01:24:36
surprising, it's a lot of Gat. It's the Gavin Newsom show.
01:24:39
It's Jen sake gushing. Over Gavin.
01:24:42
Newsom MSNBC. The questions are obviously
01:24:46
geared towards a progressive audience and we suffer through
01:24:49
it so that you can suffer. I threw it with us, but at least
01:24:52
we provide interesting and fun commentary.
01:24:55
I hope any final thoughts before we sign off for tonight.
01:24:59
Thank usual. You know, no state is, without
01:25:03
flaw, it states are run by people, people are prone to
01:25:07
error like certainly blue and red States, all have their
01:25:11
issues. But Gavin needs to get home to
01:25:15
California because California is full full of issues.
01:25:20
And I think If Ron DeSantis came to California to, you know,
01:25:24
speak out about like, hey, we don't have a homeless problem.
01:25:27
Hey work, our schools are failing.
01:25:29
Hey, we're not, you know, we don't have all these issues.
01:25:31
Gavin would not stand for it. He'd be like, you're not.
01:25:34
Welcome here. Go.
01:25:35
Yo, and so, it's just very hypocritical as we always say,
01:25:40
for him to go and try to touch on all these issues when we are
01:25:43
absolutely full of issues back here at home and we elected him
01:25:46
to hopefully, solve our issues. I know you, and I didn't vote
01:25:50
for him, but It's really unfair of him to be on this little
01:25:53
family vacation tour, wouldn't? We have so many things going on
01:25:57
back here that he needs to really get a handle on because
01:26:00
the our problems are out of our crime and safety issues.
01:26:04
They are out of control. We have things that are really
01:26:06
affecting all of our daily lives.
01:26:08
I know you're talking about how are you live?
01:26:10
Just walking down the street. You've seen it, get worse, and
01:26:13
worse by, you know, every few months, it's just like the and
01:26:17
we're hearing every day, and he's talking about these mass,
01:26:19
shootings and stuff. And I think I sent you some are
01:26:21
Chuckles, We're l.a. Alone, had six matched mass
01:26:24
shootings, in a matter of like a week or 10 days or something
01:26:26
like that. I forget the exact stats, but
01:26:28
it's just like, we're not without problems and our
01:26:31
problems are not little and therefore, I don't think he has
01:26:35
any right to be in other any other state calling out their
01:26:38
issues? Yeah, I think that's the biggest
01:26:42
Optics. Fail of Newsome and he's usually
01:26:44
pretty good. I will say this, never
01:26:47
underestimate noodles and his ability to be a Suave.
01:26:51
Politician. He's very good at being a
01:26:52
politician, but this was Optics wise, this was weird because it
01:26:59
is weird to see the governor of another state gallivanting
01:27:02
around in states that are not his State.
01:27:06
And just going on this like, weird road trip and tour to talk
01:27:10
about freedom and himself, and you just don't see a lot of
01:27:16
Governors going out of their state to take this much time to
01:27:20
talk. Talk about other states.
01:27:22
But again, I mean, the secret is not, it's not really a secret
01:27:27
anymore. Gavin Newsom wants to be
01:27:28
president. He wants to run for president.
01:27:30
This is absolutely his way to start.
01:27:33
Testing the waters to see what, how he's doing to see what
01:27:36
people think of him in these red States.
01:27:39
This could be a way for him to kind of test the waters of him
01:27:43
being in redder States, or conservative states to see his
01:27:47
appeal because he is going to Have to win some red or
01:27:53
right-leaning, swing States if he wants to be president.
01:27:57
So maybe this is his way of kind of getting out there getting his
01:27:59
people and his team out there to see how he feels so it's no
01:28:03
shock that he's out there. He's already bored with his
01:28:06
second term. It's only been like four months.
01:28:07
He's, we've still got three years three plus years to until
01:28:12
he is out of office. She's scary to think.
01:28:18
Yeah. So it's it's definitely Gavin
01:28:21
Newsom Sport with being Governor.
01:28:22
He doesn't want to do it anymore.
01:28:24
He's already won a second term. ERM.
01:28:26
He's moving on to the next thing you want to be president and
01:28:29
this is just this tour to do so and sadly he couldn't wait.
01:28:34
A couple of years to kind of go out there and start doing this.
01:28:38
He immediately in a second term, started to go out and do this
01:28:42
even his Twitter feed. Like you see what he's been
01:28:45
tweeting about for the past. Couple weeks is nothing to do at
01:28:48
California and a lot of people in the responses are like did
01:28:53
you forget your governor of California because you've been
01:28:56
talking a lot about other states and not California?
01:28:59
Then there's people posting stories like you're saying like
01:29:01
these horrible shootings crime all that stuff happening in
01:29:03
California. He's just not paying attention.
01:29:08
So like I said, if you want to go and watch the last seven
01:29:12
minutes of this, you can go find it on YouTube.
01:29:16
I don't think there's anything left for him to really say
01:29:19
that's super interesting. All right, that's our show for
01:29:23
tonight. Sorry.
01:29:24
Is it hour and a half? But we tried to get through as
01:29:28
much as possible and they say a lot of idiotic things, so we
01:29:31
felt like we had to comment on all of it.
01:29:33
So, Any other final thoughts before we sign off, I'm good.
01:29:39
All right, so best way to support the show, like I always
01:29:43
end up reshow if you want to do it, it's free helps us out.
01:29:46

01:29:53

01:29:56
at least one person. That's the best way to support
01:29:58
the show. Make sure you like share,
01:30:00
subscribe review, if you're on Spotify, do all that stuff,
01:30:03

01:30:05
We're also on Rumble now. So go check us out over on
01:30:07

01:30:09
