in just like four or five days this would explode and kind of

stuff that we had talked about on June 1st has gotten even More

crazy in terms of protest and parents pushing back.

overlords the sisters of Perpetual Indulgence have now

arrived, they've taken over Sacramento.

They laid down, you know, roses and everything down the down,

the floor for them, and gave them all sorts of honors and

crowned them, Kings of California, or Queens of
00:01:45
California. We're going to talk about that.

So, it's just in five days. It's just turned into like,

And a lot of people are thankfully, in my opinion are

starting to stand up and just say like enough of this, we're

and I are devout. Catholics, we take our faith

new Catholic, so I'm not going to pretend, like, I've been a

lifelong Catholic. I was just, it's been a little

over a year since I've been officially what we say.

yeah, it does frustrate me that they are mocking this and

they're gaslighting us to believe.

bow down to our religion and like everything that we say and

like you know, make sure you salute, our pride flag and don't

time that the church in general, not a church with the church, in

general, has honestly drop the ball on the things that we are

called to do as the church. What the Bible says that we are

called to do. I feel like they've dropped the

ball for years and years and years decades.

And then the government started stepping in because we weren't

taking care of the poor and taking in the orphans and doing

all the things that, you know, the Bible says do Do and so the

government slowly stepped in and took over and now the church is

private organizations are way better at charity than the

The issue what started the protest at the school?

Well we found out about this assembly back in early May and

we have made numerous attempts to contact school officials and

have a meeting with them. We did have a meeting with the
00:08:41
principal but she couldn't be helpful.

So we asked to speak with mr. Carvalho.

We have made numerous attempts to contact him but he ignored
00:08:52
every opportunity. We have to speak with him, he
00:08:55
just didn't want to acknowledge us and we have no choice but to
00:09:00
take it to the streets and make sure that he hears us and come
00:09:03
speak with us, okay? So it all started the assembly
00:09:06
that you're talking about the students were all at this
00:09:08
assembly Elementary School and a book was read that.

Some parents had problems with the book is called the great big
00:09:14
book of families. It talks about Multicultural
00:09:17
families, multi-religious families, families with adopted
00:09:19
children families, with same-sex partners and some of the parents
00:09:23
said, what It's a it's a are a lot of Armenian families live in
00:09:27
this area and one dad said, I don't like the idea of my little
00:09:29
kid coming home and saying it's fine for a family to have two
00:09:32
dads, two men to love each other, we don't respect that.
00:09:35
It's not in our culture as Christians and Armenians,
00:09:38
another dad who's a protester said LGBT individuals exist in
00:09:42
all cultures and communities. And our representation in our
00:09:45
voices being heard is not a matter of discussion, it's
00:09:47
civil, right? That was earned through decades
00:09:49
and Decades of activism. How do you where do you stand on
00:09:52
this issue? Well, my whole thing is about
00:09:56
its 10 year, old children should not be exposed to any of these.

Lgbtq you don't think they're too young, they're too young.

He's probably wasn't about the issue of the book itself only

because after the rule book was supposed to be red, they were
00:10:12
supposed to turn around and have a discussion about what they
00:10:15
just reading hurt and we have a team of one of our parents

numerous times, what would? Answer my child when he comes up

to you and says I have a mommy and daddy, and my mommy was

pregnant when they have two daddies reach.

Daddy gives to get pregnant. Where does the baby come from?

What are you going to answer them?

Now, one school official has an answer to that question their

sales thought about section lysing, or grooming our
00:10:43
children, but yet, they have no answers to us.

And when we want to speak with them and have these discussions,

they totally ignore us and they just don't want to talk to us

and I'm fed up and the Who is not safe for my children to take
00:10:55
back and they don't want to come out and talk to me and say how
00:10:59
are we going to make the school safer and was going to be their
00:11:03
next move? And they just totally want to
00:11:05
ignore me. And I'm not going to take my
00:11:07
kids back until they come out and talk to us.

So, what are you going to do private schools homeschool?

Well, this is an Armenian Community School, it's dual
00:11:18
language for Armenian children to learn Armenian and in I'm not
00:11:24
going to give up that easy and decide to move my children to
00:11:28
another school because I really want them to learn Armenian
00:11:31
English. At the same time, I will fight
00:11:34
this fight. As long as I have to.
00:11:36
I'm also considering other school options, but for right
00:11:39
now, I'm going to speak with the school members board members to
00:11:43
decide my our night smoke, okay? When you turn everybody into
00:11:46
started, going to Elementary to keep that children.
00:11:48
Also, LAUSD can understand that we will not be silenced.

No matter how big they are, we will not be silenced.

We did ask for a statement from Los Angeles Unified School

District and this is what they told us.

Los Angeles Unified remains committed to maintaining a safe,

inclusive and supportive environment for all students, we

are also committed to ensuring, diversity and inclusivity.

In addition out of an abundance of caution, the Los Angeles

school. Police department will be

providing additional patrols around the campus Manute, thank

So that guy was a protester. I've seen videos of him on

social media one. I'm always, I'm a big supporter

of school choice. I think there should be a lot of
00:12:37
school choice, but we're not in a world right now.

Where school choice is always easy for a lot of people and I
00:12:44
understand it. Like this gentleman makes a
00:12:46
really good point, which is he doesn't want to take his kids
00:12:48
out of school where the kids are learning English and Armenian,
00:12:53
it's very important to him and his family that That they do.

So What are your thoughts on this?

That, you know, it's, yes, you can take your kids out of
00:13:04
school, but sometimes, you don't want to take your kids out of
00:13:08
school, like, you want them to stay in this school and it's
00:13:12
should you fight? Should you go to the school
00:13:15
board? Should you get involved?

And push back on these schools? Because you do want to take your
00:13:19
kids, your kids out of these schools, you don't want to run
00:13:23
away, which is sort of the same idea that I've said about other
00:13:26
things and sometimes it's better to just kind of Plant your feet
00:13:29
and go for it. So what are your thoughts,

fight? Absolutely fight.

But I think he's right in his fight that he removed his kids
00:13:37
from the system and he's waiting to have a conversation with
00:13:41
them. And I mean, I've no, I've had
00:13:44
said this to so many times, I wish that there was a mass
00:13:47
Exodus in these schools so that the administration, the the
00:13:52
board's the teachers, everyone would start have to take them
00:13:55
seriously. The districts would have to
00:13:56
listen up because they would all of a sudden have You know, their
00:13:59
attendance dropped, almost nothing.

It's sad, sad. These this is a lot of kids

enjoy school. It's where their friends are at
00:14:05
their, you know, and like this parents said they're learning
00:14:08
both English and Armenian languages, and then it's their
00:14:12
community and he's important. So, I think that's very sad, but

I think that if there were these Mass Exodus, it would happen
00:14:19
quicker because the schools would be forced to actually
00:14:22
listen to the parents. And so, I totally applaud that
00:14:26
man for doing what he's doing, and It's Elementary School.

They don't need to be pushing any sort of.

They don't even need to be pushing like regular marriage on

kids. I'm a parent of four all

different ages. I know that kids mature,

going to mature the same, boys and girls mature.

Differently. Everyone is different.

not an expert, but I know that I I have had, you know, each kid

has the sex talk at a different point and they're they've all

not been ready at the same time. I had very Frank conversations

with my kids about it but it was for me and my husband had to

decide when they were ready and how we should do these sex

talks. And so for the school to just

kind of assume that everyone's ready at the same time and even

like I have kind of personal experience.

This is a really silly story, but I went to a Baptist School

in first and second grade and then I was Schooled for third

and fourth grade. But the Baptist School was right

down the street from me and a lot of you maybe know about the

Alana's program, which was kind of like a Bible study weekly for
00:15:38
kids. So I still went to that church /

school for their bible study on Wednesday night.

So I kind of stayed I maintain friends with some of the kids

that I was friends with and first and second grade through
00:15:49
Elementary School, there was this kid Paul in my grade Paul

chased me like from day one. And I do mean chased me like,
00:15:58
Ike. Friday's was boys chase girls

day and he would chase me and flirt with me and like this went
00:16:06
on until fifth grade with this guy Paul.

Clearly he was whatever you can be at 7, 8 9 10 years old into
00:16:13
me but then all of a sudden come high school.

He comes out as gay. I mean, would he if he knew that

in first second, third fourth? Like, do you think he'd be
00:16:24
chasing me? Do you think he had the mindset
00:16:26
of like, at seven years old, to be like, Oh, I'm not accepted, I

need to pretend like I'm into a girl.

He didn't know, he didn't know back then he didn't know.

And so I just why are we pushing this on them?

started to get an idea of what's going on in the classroom

because they were able to sit there and watch what their kids

were going through. And then parents were horrified

at what these Mobic schools were teaching.

They said, okay, well we're going to start pulling you out,

then you saw record low enrollment in Public Schools

across California after covid during covid and after covid,

and it hurts. And a lot of people were okay,

well now, what do we do? These kids are gone, they were

not getting the revenue and it I think that's how you're going to
00:17:47
have to approach. It is money, does talk and when

you take kids out of school and their enrollment goes down and
00:17:53
that starts to hurt their bottom line.

At the end of the day, that might be the best way to kind of
00:17:58
combat. This is just go, like, look

we're not, you're not going to make money off of my kids by
00:18:03
teaching this. And you know, there's only so
00:18:07
many private schools. There's only so many charter
00:18:09
schools and parochial schools, and Catholic schools, and all
00:18:11
that stuff that probably can't accept every kid in California.

So a lot of these schools you just kind of got to put your

foot down and say like, you know like almost kind of make an
00:18:24
example like you do. This marriage are going to get
00:18:27
pissed and they're going to push back and maybe hopefully for
00:18:31
every like I guess I would say like every Saticoy that is out

there, that's happening in Glendale right now.

Hopefully there's a bunch of other schools are looking at
00:18:41
this going. We don't want Glendale and we
00:18:43
don't want Saticoy happening at our schools so you know, let's

let's not do this. Let's kind of pump the brakes on

Meanwhile inside the school board was voting on

reconsidering. Pride curriculum highlighting

lgbtq+ issues that has been in place since 2019 Glendale

unified's. Is it follows California law,

which states that every person on campus has a right to be

referred to by their preferred pronoun.

Meanwhile, parents and community members on both sides showed up

to demonstrate. They need to stop asking little

children. What they sexually identify as

children are not sexual being nor should they be?

I think it's really important to be here to stand up for all

children and not being exclusive, we are an inclusive

community. The school board later did vote

unanimously to declare June pride month and move forward

with the curriculum Advocates. Say lgbtq+ representation and

school studies is important. Opponents say they don't want
00:22:01
the content to be introduced to Children.

Police. Meanwhile, say many of the

protesters here at this protest, at this demonstration were also
00:22:09
present during a violent exchange between demonstrators

outside Saticoy. Elementary in North Hollywood

last week. Over a scheduled Pride assembly
